Can anyone from EN comment on what the problem is and when this is going to be fixed? It's a big slowdown to not be able to search for content using Spotlight - this used to work but it's been broken for about 1 year now. Please help!

How are you guys doing on fixing Spotlight in Evernote? It's been about 8 months now... We're still stuck without a working Spotlight search...

I have uninstalled / reinstalled several times. To be clear, it does not fix the problem. If anything, all it does is temporarily reset some timer or cache but inevitably the bug returns.

Ok well that sure was a waste of a few hours. I did this on my 2 Macs (both running 7.12 Final) and it didn't do anything to fix these EvernoteSpotlight crashes. @Nick L. Please is this being looked into? Who can I send logs to or how to figure out what's going on here?

Actually that's not true. Spotlight does NOT work. Only note titles are searched- content search from Spotlight is not returning results.

Mine happens at around 10:30pm (+/- 5 min) every day. I don't have any scheduled tasks that run around that time, and I never shut down my Mac. It's a really weird bug. To me it feels like there's some process from the "cloud" that is triggering a script to run locally and that is crashing Spotlight. I know that EN has some scripts that can be remotely updated and executed -- almost like a remote control from their side. So I suspect this is what is going on.

@Lynnied That's a problem I run into with other apps too. I think it's a general MAS bug or somehow Apple delaying/staging updates. The quick fix is to drag the Evernote.app to the Trash, empty the trash, and then go back to the App Store and download again. It will give you the latest version.

My EvernoteSpotlight is crashing (silently) too since 7.11 - if these are useful @Nick L. I can submit the crash dumps.

Keychain prompt is gone for me too but 7.11 has crashed a few times for me while editing notes (pasting images) with an endless spinning beachball. Haven't had that happen for a while so will need to keep an eye on it.

Is this also why Spotlight search is not working?

@Nick L. Sadly I woke up this morning and the keychain prompt was there, even after the reinstall.

I just completely reinstalled 7.10 - will see if it makes any difference & report back @Nick L.

I've run the codesign command on 2 machines but so far it hasn't changed anything- the prompt still reappears after some time. Ia there any better debug info we can send to EN to help track this down? @Nick L.

On both of my Macs, the codesign command spit out a bunch of stuff but it all said "validated" and at the end I did have the "valid on disk" and "satisfies its Designated Requirement" lines so it seems mine was "good" even though I continue to have the Keychain popup several times a day.

What can we as users do to help speed up the debugging process here? I have already sent logs.

A few days ago this popup started popping up randomly throughout the day. I enter my password and click "Always Allow" but the popup comes back some minutes/hours later. This seems to be almost the same issue as the #3 item from my old post here EN 7.10 (457750 Direct)

Not to pour cold water on your excitement but, there are still bugs with copy & paste & newlines. For example, try copying the text below and paste it into a new note. Then make it into a code block. Hello World Evernote Bugs Are Fun To Test You'll see, each of the single spaces becomes a double space.

The bug I reported a month ago in the 7.10beta1 thread is still not fixed in 7.10 final. The 2 official bugreports I filed (#2815722 and #2823619) have both been marked "closed". So I opened a new one (#2834216) and am referencing this thread. Please fix this, Spotlight is useless without it.

I don't think you can read about it anywhere (yet) - this is something I was told privately in a support ticket. Not sure when it's coming either... could be the next beta or not for a few more months.
