Is the tag there when you look it up manually  in the note ?

In general since search is server based, it may take a little to integrate new stuff into the index. If it was added just now, I would wait a little. For me it usually takes a few minutes until indexing is done. But this as well depends on server workload, maintenance and other issues. If I still can’t find it after 24hrs, I would start to be concerned.

Yes, the tag is there. I've been using EN for over 10 years and waiting 24 hours for it to sync is not something I've ever had to do. I guess this is all part of the recent evolution of EN. I posted a few times about other issues when this whole massive change started and the app seemed to be unwinding but I gave up posting and just hoped for the best. I've got over a decade of data in EN and the thought of finding a substitute is just mind-boggling. I am grateful for the 8-9 years that the app was stupendous and the changes were thoughtful and improved the product. Now it's just sad. I am just hoping it doesn't completely implode.

  2. I don't see this thread elsewhere. I have a newer Kindle with a Silk browser. It shows the ability to share with Evernote and it will work when sharing a highlighted section of text. However, if I try to share a web page, it ends up in Evernote with the title of the page but with a graphic showing "X" "FAIL". Any way to make it work?

For those who want to revert to the "true" last functioning (NOT legacy, which implies co-existence with ver.10) version of Evernote, that is, ver. 6.25.1.9091, I have put the install file in an Evernote note:

or you can download it directly from FileHippo

Many thanks for posting the link. That will allow me to keep using EN while they figure out what the heck they are doing!

  4. For almost 10 years I have been an EN user and for the most part have always been pleased with features as they were added. Now, with 10.6, I'm thinking of searching the alternatives. And, frankly, that's not something I've even been remotely interested in spending time on because I have been so happy with EN.

Now the Offline Notebook was deleted, I only just now discovered all my notes sitting in my Upload Folder because that feature is no longer available either. It is now cumbersome and requires extra clicks to move notes between folders and the icing on the cake is that the app is SLOW!! Slow to load, slow to sort, slow to move files, just freaking SLOW. I see that others are missing useful features they had also come to depend on as well. I just can't imagine what the developers were thinking on this one. It is just the sort of move that breaks the trust between long-time, loyal customers and the company.

Of all the productivity tools I have used over the decades, this is the biggest step BACKWARDS I have ever seen a company make. I see some mention in this thread about EN "reintroducing" some features in the future. That would be nice, but in the meantime I guess I'll do what I did 10 years ago and look for an app I can depend on. What a very, very big disappointment.

  5. This is a smaller gripe than my post about moving notes, but it is one more feature change that was not well thought out in Ver 10. When I sort through the notes accumulated in my Inbox, those from Scannable on my phone show up as "Scannable Document" in the title. Easy peasy, I just double click and type in the correct title. However, with receipts my title includes a date code and I often have to scroll to the bottom of the receipt to see the date. In Ver 6* the title remained static in the window so that when I reached the bottom of the document I could just double click the title and type in the new title. In Ver 10, the title of the note now scrolls with the note. So, when I scroll to the bottom of the document, the title disappears above and I have to note the date, scroll back up to the top of the note, then double click the title and type in the new one. Not quite as big a time waster as the moving notes issue, but once again EN is adding steps rather that subtracting them, making LESS efficient rather than MORE.

  6. I recently upgraded from 6* to 10*, and while I'm still exploring the new version I already found something I truly think is a step backward. I have been using EN for many, many years and upload receipts, statements, etc from Scannable on my phone and from email as well. All goes into my Inbox for sorting. Once I sit down to sort, much of what I have is Receipts and Statements, each of which have their own folder. In the old EN it was so simple to move these notes from the Inbox to their respective folders. Since the 3 most recently used folders were in a dropdown list right below the note's folder name, it was basically one click to file the notes. Boom! Now I have to click the "Move Note" button (or click Alt-Shift-M, real cumbersome as well), then I am presented with an alphabetical list of all my folders. I can either scroll all the way down to find the proper folder, or type the name in the search box. Then I click that folder name, THEN I have to click the "Move" button to confirm the selection. EN has taken a one-and-done procedure and turned it into a multiple step pain in the rear. When I'm faced with an Inbox with 15 or 20 notes, this adds up to a lot of extra clicks, extra time and extra, EXTRA aggravation. Over the years I have been consistently impressed with how EN has moved forward again and again. I guess that's why it is so surprising to see this sort of backward leap. I am hopeful for a change in the future and also hopeful that I don't make any more similar discoveries as I use the new version. I wasn't real thrilled about losing my Offline Notebook either, but I will say that EN's record of security has given me enough confidence to move that stuff online. I hope that confidence is not rewarded with a data breach.
