In the eletronic medical records world there is something know as "dot phrases" where a user types in ".word" the programs know to replace that dot phrase with a saved message. So instead of typing out frequently used phrases every time you can use a dot phrase to safe time. For instance I'm taking notes on illness scripts for various medical conditions and I would like the ability to type ".list" and have it replaced with bullet points saying "Etio: Path: Sx: Dx: Mgmt: Ppx:" so I don't have to copy and paste this same list every time when taking notes.
