  1. For clarity, I came across this problem when generating a shared public link, and that link was sent to others who likely are not Evernote users. Viewing the public link in a web browser caused the switch from box to bullet. My original note was generated with the latest Evernote version, as best I can tell. Hope this helps.
  2. Ah well. Thanks for the workaround. On the Mac side, I inserted checkboxes and put x’s in them. On the web side, these show up as boxes w check marks, but without the indent of a checklist. I can live with that for now. Thanks much for the quick reply.
  3. I am having this issue also. Checklist boxes are showing up as bullets in a note that I want to share via web w my nonprofit group. I think I've checked everything that can be updated. My Mac OS is up to date. My Evernote app for Mac is updated. The web app shows "Enable V10+ web clients" enabled. I am pretty sure I'm using Checklists (4 little dots by each box on hover). Attached are screenshots of the app display vs the shared note display via web browser. I'm sure what else to do to fix this.
  4. Yay! An easy solution. My settings often get garbled after Evernote updates, and I'll bet this setting got changed in my preferences. I don't remember seeing this sticky behavior before. At any rate,, thanks for curing my headache. One down....
  5. Command-F inside a note is useful. Or used to be. Now there's a bug in 10.58.8 for Mac. Before I upgraded to this version, I must have searched for the term "1password" inside of note. All instances of that term were highlighted in yellow. All well and good, that's expected behavior. However, I cannot get rid of this search term now. I can search for a different search term, say the word "key," and I'll get the normal search behavior. I will see instances of the word "key" highlighted in my note. But when I click the X in the search box to make the Find function go away...guess what comes back? My previous search term "1password" along with the highlighting. This bug is sticky through a restart of the app, and also a restart of my Mac. I can't get rid of it. I suspect I need to get rid of some plist file, but no idea which/how. It's visually annoying because this note is all about using 1Password. So that means that there are about 200 "permanent" yellow search highlights in my note that I can't rid of.
  6. Good point. Yesterday, this happened in Mac OS 10.12.6 using the web clipper for Safari 12.0.3. Possibly the same problem has happened using screen clipper, and with the web clipper and Firefox/Chrome. I'll make notes when the problem happens again to see how widespread it is. I wonder if my preferences and EN password for web clipper are stored like a web cookie, such that clearing cookies clears out my filing preferences?
  7. Amen! Anything called "Smart" inevitably isn't. Every Evernote update I forget to check the new default settings, and every update Evernote files away my notes so intelligently that I probably will never see them again. When I clear out my Inbox, I eventually notice a note is missing, and then I gnash my teeth. All I want is my clippings to land in my Inbox and I will handle it from there. Why is this so difficult for Evernote?
  8. I understand that this is a minor feature, but it would also be trivial to implement. So why not just do it? And frankly, many of the major upgrades are features I don't want, or or don't like after I try them, or don't work properly and waste my time. Evernote's core business is (was?) note-taking. At least get that part right! Take a clue from Amazon: every tiny piece of friction in the user experience can add up to the customer looking somewhere else for gratification.
