I have been using Evernote for donkeys years and is my goto app for storing all my info and files. However over recent years I have become frustrated by the short sightedness of Evernote. One of the Key features that made me sign up in the first place was the ability to export ALL Notebooks including attachments in one Go. This I viewed as an insurance against Evernote failing or not having access to my Notes for whatever reason ( the reason doesn't matter ,as a paid user I felt comfort from having this ability). However as many users know this feature was removed. Whilst there are several threads stating technical issues etc etc etc I fear the real reason this was done is due to the fear by Evernote management of users exporting their data and switching to an alternative platform. Customer retention in todays world is very different, Evernote Management need to take a leaf out of Elon Musks Book ( he gives his patents away free ) Evernote should concentrate on improving their platform and staying ahead of the competition rather than removing features that a lot of loyal Paid users originally signed up a subscription in the first place. The fact is in todays world not everyone trusts the Cloud plus many companies come and go so the fact that one has a copy of ones data stored locally is called Peace of Mind for the user. Also do some analysis on the average age of your users, the over 40/50's who have disposable income tend not to trust everything being in the cloud. Whats even more annoying is that Evernote have tried to pacify us by giving us the ability to first download single notes and then a Notebook ( of course with limits ) GEE talk about taking your customers for Fools!! ARE YOU SERIOUS !!! I have over 35 Notebooks with hundreds of notes and attachments, how long do you think that would take to download? That all said, The reason I write this is that I love Evernote, as stated this is my GOTO app, however I fear that by being protectionist rather than retain customers they will lose them and be there own downfall. Alas, this request will fall on deaf ears as per all the previous posts I have sifted through and I wonder if anyone from the senior management ever reads their Forums and really understand their customers needs?
