Do you use "Send Copy" in Apple Notes? If I use this for a handwritten note and select Evernote as target then I get a a note with a picture in Evernote and not a PDF.
-
You can also sync now by pulling down the notes list.

It is possible to take every argument to extremes.
My example above is not an extreme. That is a typical preprint publication I normally have to annotate. It is literally not possible for me to read the text because it is so small.

I can't say that I'd noticed... I annotate PDFs in just the same way as ever.
On the iPad? I don't think so. PDF annotations on the iPad (and NOT on the iPhone!) are broken since 2020. Please explain to me how you are able to do annotations in this view. This is the ONLY available zoom option.

In my opinion the iPad version is better than anything we ever had. It just lacks multitasking.
PDF annotations were obviously better before. And drag & drop of documents worked already in the pre-v10 versions.

Just gave it a try: 10 Tries, none of them ending with an unintended zoom. Just set 2 fingers side by side on the screen, and start dragging.
After each line, I moved the canvas. You see there is no size deviation. Maybe there was a jitter, but visually no Zoom took place. It is called Sketch, remember, not Nanometer-Precission-Drawing-Tool.
So to be clear: Of course it is called Sketch but it is the handwriting functionality of Evernote. The use case is - like in GoodNotes, Noteshelf, Penultimate, etc. - to take notes e. g. in a meeting and when coming to the end of the screen/page to scroll down to continue with taking notes. This works in all other notes apps without any problem, but not in Evernote. That's all and that is stupid.

To avoid zooming just takes a little muscle control - simply don’t pinch in or out while moving.
Not so stupid after all …
I am pretty sure if I would give you the task to move/scroll the canvas in a given way e. g. a full screen length in one direction without changing the zoom at all you would fail in 9 of 10 trials. Scrolling a screen/page down or left is probably the most common use case and if this does not work as expected then, yes, I call it a stupid implementation. Especially as ALL other note taking apps incl. Evernote's own very old Penultimate app manage to implement it better.

These are iOS gestures - ask Apple to change them …
Not really. Of course the app can implement whatever gestures and functionalities. There is absolutely no reason why moving the canvas around should be done with two fingers. Actually there is no iOS system app at all that uses this gesture to move around. In iOS apps moving around is normally done with one finger. Evernote could do this as well if only they would support Apple Pencil and turn off drawing with the finger when using the Apple Pencil.
I totally agree that this stupid implementation by Evernote to use two fingers for completely different functionalities (zooming AND moving) is one of the many reasons why the drawing/handwriting functionality is currently useless. If only the functionality "reset zoom" in the menu would actually do what it says, but it just does exactly the same as "fit to screen".

Steps to integrate Apple Calendar in Google Calendar:
- Go to the settings of an individual calendar in Apple Calendar (via the icon on the right of the name of the calendar in the calendars list).
- Turn on Public Calendar and copy the shared link (something beginning with webcal://)
- Go to Google Calendar and add a new calendar from the copied URL
Now the calendar is integrated in Google Calendar. But be aware that it might sometimes take several hours until a new item in Apple Calendar appears in Google Calendar as well. And of course your calendar is now public and everyone knowing the URL is able to access it.

I've been with Evernote since 2014 and initially I loved it, installing it on 3 devices - tablet, laptop and maybe a phone (it's been a long time so memory is sketchy but regardless back then, Evernote didn't have a limit of the number of devices one could have the Evernote app but anyone can correct me).
Each time there was an upgrade there would invariably be some kind of technical issue. That should have been my first sign to find another provider where the features would be more stable and reliable. Finally in 2017, I took a hike and I haven't created any new notes but my account still has lingering notes that I have yet to transfer/export.
Then your experiences have nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Here it is about the completely new version of Evernote that came out in 2020 and the cry to bring back Evernote as it was before. So actually the people complaining in this thread want exactly the Evernote version back that was the reason for you to leave Evernote.

Looks very useful, but one review says there are no widgets. Does it have complications?
Yes, it has complications. And it has widgets for the iPhone/iPad home screen as well. But the app is really just for creating notes, it does not display notes. The Apple Watch app is very simple. As soon as it has been opened you can use the watch default input to put in text (dictation, scribble or the mini keyboard on Series 7). The input note is then automatically saved in the default notebook of Evernote. That's all. As far as I know this is the only existing and working Evernote Apple Watch app.
BTW, all this was already discussed in that thread: https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/topic/141439-apple-watch-shortcut/

Or if the Evernote home screen is displayed you can click on the icon in the right upper corner of the first widget (this should be per default the last changed notes).

I was initially upset I couldn't use Evernote on my brand new watch SE, but after trying Just Press Record as mentioned above I'm quite happy and find it's perfect for a watch app. The iPhone app then translates the Just Press Record recordings and can share the transcription and recording to evernote immediately.
Or you could use the app FastEver that creates text notes directly in Evernote from the Apple Watch.

With 10.33 they finally found a working solution. No more delay when starting the app. But the very long pulsating blue bar is still there when the calendar is opened. This does not block working with it, so it is a suitable solution. Finally the Scratch Pad widget is really useful, because one can use it immediately after opening the app.
-
The first problem (when opening the app, it takes forever to sync (blue bar scrolling)) is/was related to the Calendar widget. They have changed the behavior in the new version 10.33. Now the forever sync withe blue bar will start when you open the calendar only. When you open the app there is no more a delay. I can live with this solution.

I hope that helps! It's definitely kludgey — that's the best we can do for now.
No. As I said above, the best we can do for now is using the existing and working third-party Evernote Apple Watch app called FastEver. It is very simple and you can only dictate or scribble text notes, but is not kludgey at all. All notes are immediately saved in Evernote.

With the new update today (10.32) it seems to be fixed. The sync of the home screen in Evernote is now without a 5 minutes delay - even with the Calendar widget.
And after a restart of the iPhone it is back to 5 minutes if the Evernote app is "killed" and restarted ...

No, not behind „Account“, the first settings option. But behind the extended settings option, the last menu item.
It does link directly to the web account pages, including „Billing“ (Abrechnung).
No, it is not a direct link to https://www.evernote.com/BillyBillingProfile.action like in the new MacOS settings dialog and this is very important. Apple explicitly forbids direct links for signing up for a paid subscription service outside the in-app mechanism. This was one of the crucial points in the legal war with Epic Games.

Hmmm - as long as EN does not tell why, we can’t discard any theory.
Anyhow I don’t believe into this specific idea: On iOS the same AppStore rules apply. But the settings gear wheel is there (has always been), and it holds the same links to the settings pages in the web.
No, it does actually not. Not all of the five entries under "Einstellungen" and the links in them are found in the iOS version.

And the new version 10.37.3 (available in the App Store for 2 days now) still hasn't brought the gear icon to the App Store version.
My new theory for the reason why: Besides the actually settings in the new settings dialog all the other entries in the menu on the left side are deep links to the web site. Some of these lead to the financial account management (payments, subscriptions). As this is outside the in-app subscription management, these links might be against Apple's rules for releases in the App Store. Maybe instead of having an own settings dialog for the App Store version without these links Evernote might have went the "No dialog at all" way. But they should really communicate this better and not put something in the update notes within the App Store that is not in the update.

Windows: What a weird concept … 😵💫
What I am saying is - and I actually did it above - that the PC and Mac versions of Evernote as well as the web version need to be able to run in all kind of window sizes - and they do! The screen layout is automatically adjusted to the current size of the window - it works even for a window size that equals the screen size of a mobile phone. The desktop/web version is also able to shrink the main menu on the left to just a very thin bar of icons only. This way the desktop/web layout would perfectly fit even on an iPad 9.7".

Fun fact: You don't have to use all programs on computers in fullscreen. Actually it is quite common to use windows in all kind of sizes and dimensions.

Hi. I have no clue - do you have a lot of items? I'd suggest you feed back this situation to Evernote Support (that's not us) or is you're a subscriber, raise a support ticket.
Okay, so to be clear: You have the Calendar widget on your Evernote home screen (Evernote for iOS) and when you re-start Evernote (it was completely closed before) it does not take several minutes until the animated blue line stops, right?
Do you guys know how to turn off 'update popup'?
in Evernote for Mac Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)

Another way to fix this:
Install the Mac App Store version and not the direct download version. This will automatically update Evernote in the background and never show you any update notification at all. Only downside: This version has for whatever reason no settings button (the gear icon).
