Unable to Capture URL via Safari Share
gewappnet replied to inu's topic in Evernote for iOS Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
If you share the complete web page, the URL should be in the note in the upper right corner above the title. But if you select a text and then use the sharing from the pop-up menu, this will only create a note with the selected text without the URL. -
This is the forum "Product Feedback/Feature Requests > Evernote for iOS Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)". I think the initial posting fits perfectly as it is a feature request for Evernote for iOS. On the other hand I would say that using a support ticket for feature requests would be a misuse as this is obviously for support requests.

Apple Watch Support
gewappnet replied to MissArdbeg's question in Evernote for iOS Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)
No, nothing by Evernote. But you can use the app FastEver on the Apple Watch to create notes in Evernote as I said above. -
The zoom bug is so strange as Evernote knows about it (for years!) but does not do anything about it. A workaround: While displaying the PDF in Evernote tap on the share button and either use Mark Up (system functionality) or open the PDF in another PDF app (I use PDF Viewer Pro). Then save the modified PDF in a local ("On my iPad") or an iCloud Drive folder like "temp". Back in the Evernote note delete the PDF and add it again from the folder "temp". Cumbersome, but one way to do it.

Sketch is not really usable for handwritten notes for many reasons and one is certainly the lack of proper support for the Apple Pencil. But it was not said yet in this thread, so especially for you: There are two apps for handwritten notes that have a complete integration in Evernote with automatic synchronization, Penultimate and Noteshelf. Penultimate is by Evernote, but very outdated and does not support the Apple Pencil either. Noteshelf on the other hand perfectly supports it, offers all functionalities that you would expect and has the same perfect synchronization to Evernote as Penultimate.

Where did the template option go?
gewappnet replied to CMG*'s topic in Evernote for iOS Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
An alternative way is to customize the "New note" button in the settings. There is an option "From template" that will bring you directly to the template selection box. BTW, there is also a displaying bug that might prevent you from selecting the "More templates" button at all. If there are many entries in the templates bar and the "More ..." button is at the very right then half of the menu box is cut off. The cut off part is the one with the "More templates" button, so it is not possible to select it. -
For me it takes up to a minute after opening the app on the iPhone or iPad until new notes created on other devices automatically show up. So either wait that time or tap on "Notes" in the first widget of the home screen and then pull down the notes list to update. That is the fastest way for manual syncing.

And still no such problems for me. Did you try uninstalling the app store version and reinstalling it again?
-
No problems with PDFs at all for me with the app store version of 10.40.9. In fact they finally brought the settings icon (gear) to the app store version.

The opposite is true. Updates of the Evernote app are always shown first on the update page in the app store. Over the last months I checked manually for updates in the direct download version of Evernote when I see a new update of Evernote in the app store and NEVER was an update shown in the direct download version. So if you want to be aware of the newest update of the mac version, refresh the update page in the app store at least once a day.

Yes, that's what I said. But do the same on iOS starting with the Notes view (all notes) and then set a filter. As you will see then there is no message. The message after selecting a high level tag and then including the lower levels invisibly ONLY pops up if these two conditions are fulfilled: 1. It is either the iOS or Android version of Evernote (NOT macOS, Windows, Web) 2. The filter is selected in the search screen or after a tag was selected in the sidebar (NOT if the filter is selected in the all notes list)
-
This bug is specific to all mobile version (iOS and Android): When doing a search (initiated by tapping on the magnifier glass icon) and then selecting a tag with sub-tags as filter, one can turn on if all sub-tags should be included or not. If all sub-tags are included there will be a message: You need to upgrade to Professional to use a boolean search. But this is no boolean search. The same works fine without the message if used in filtering mode and not in a search. And it works in any way on all desktop versions and in the web version.

Today came the second update in a few weeks time period. No changes whatsoever, just "error fixing", probably needed for working with new Evernote versions. But I still wonder why they invest resources in this otherwise dead app and not pull it entirely. I always thought the reason might be a long time contract with Adonit about support for their Jot Script Pen, but this product does not even exist anymore. Still very strange to see a special support for this no longer existing pen in the app while not really supporting Apple Pencil 1 or 2.

Making Evernote work with Apple Calendar?
gewappnet replied to mikeswalkabout's topic in Evernote General Discussions
These are actually the same steps I listed three postings above yours. But maybe the additional screenshots help people. -
Where is the sync button on IOS.
gewappnet replied to Vselep's topic in Evernote for iOS Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
You can also sync now by pulling down the notes list. -
Please give us old and good Evernote back
gewappnet replied to persiomenezes's topic in Evernote General Discussions
My example above is not an extreme. That is a typical preprint publication I normally have to annotate. It is literally not possible for me to read the text because it is so small.
