  1. Hi, sorry, my login here is on an email address separate to the one which I run my paid subscription, hence why it shows that way on here Yes, the legacy app doesn't have sync problems, and that is how people are getting around the problem, hardly ideal. So, unless I remain on the legacy app, as is, there are problems. There are plenty of people complaining about the sync, just one example: Here's another (there's lots of these kinds of issues being talked about)
  2. Ever since Evernote released version 10, the sync just does not play ball. Where once there was perfect syncing, and any device could be jumped to and updates simply happened in near real time and could be trusted to have happened, now the opposite seems true. (I use desktop mac and pc a lot, and iOS) So, being on a paid tier, and with the syncing being absolutely key to my Evernote experience, it has become unusable and untrustworthy in this regard so I have made the transition to Apple Notes. Before I cancel my Evernote (which I've had to make sure I am in a position to do by getting all my notes into Apple Notes), and after years and years of being a perfectly happy customer, are Evernote fixing this, or is it as I fear, unfixable within the limitations of how they've now coded their desktop apps to have a more shareable code-base, between mac and pc. I assume Evernote can't fix it, and have painted themselves into a corner due to the strategic decision of how to develop the new version of the product, and since last year there is nothing that can be done. If true, fair enough, I'll cancel my subscription and move forward with Apple Notes.
  3. I have been a paid user for years (of the Plus tariff), as many have been here. I don't require too much of Evernote, I organise by notebooks, and notes are only ever text accompanied with occasional photos, word docs and pdfs. A good few months ago now, back in 2020, when the new Evernote was released, I spent a whole day moving it all to Apple Notes. As of that moment, Evernote is becoming out of date for me, and transitioning back would become a difficult task. I moved for one reason only, within the first hour of using the new Evernote I could see that it was not syncing. The whole proposition of a notes platform is to have everything seamlessly synced, so all devices were up-to-date. I believe Evernote have their heads in the sand over just how key this is a massive amount of its user base. With my actual point where I will actually cancel my subscription coming around the corner now, I have come back to the forums in the hope that I will be reading that the synchronisation are all fixed as I could with many hours spent, reverse back out of Apple Notes and return to Evernote, and I would be prepared to do it. However, it seems to me that Evernote have done nothing about the syncing issue? Is that correct? I assume they have not if people are still screaming for a manual sync button as a fix! Since my subscription is annual, I have a diary reminder to hit "cancel my subscription" that I am ready to do if there is no fix. (Primarily if people are wondering what I miss about Evernote is that the search in Evernote also searches for content within uploaded PDFs etc whereas Apple Notes doesn't - and of course Evernote is platform independent).
  4. When the new Evernote was released, I installed it. I use it predominantly on Macbook and iPhone, I immediately noticed it wasn't working properly. I found changes to a note had not been saved. So, I made changes, but when looking at the other device the changes hadn't happened. So, I made the changes on the second device. Evernote then created 2 notes I've worked in I.T. for years, so did a few tests and established that behaviour was erratic, whenever using the new MacOS version things got messed up. What I always loved was that Evernote was so reliable in saving changes. Not anymore. So, I discovered the Legacy edition, and have been working with that, which is all fine. The new Evernote has been through a few updates so this weekend I gave it another chance. I found a note, changed a single word in that note. It said it had saved in the corner, went to my iPhone version. Nope. No change. I was NOT prepared to wait for propagation, as my whole faith in it was undermined. So... I have now completed hours of work, mimicking my notebook structure in Apple Notes and then exporting one notebook of notes at a time, importing, and dragging into the appropriate folder in Apple Notes. Evernote, I'll be cancelling my subscription. You've lost another customer, and simply because your new version doesn't work properly for me, just as so, so many other customers are saying. I used to recommend Evernote to anyone and everyone, but sadly now it is the complete opposite.
