So, were the directions under the help guide wrong? Is there no tools option to be able to access those old files?

It tells me my OS is too old

I have an older version of Evernote where files were stored localluy. I wanted to transfer files to a new computer. I looked under help. It said to get the new evernote, click on tools then export files to an ENEX. I downloaded the new app. My old evernote app disappeared. There is not Tools option under the new app. What just happened? I had tons of files in there. How could it just delete everything without giving me the option of saving or confirming first?

I just tried to access my evernote on my Mac. My desktop has never asked me for a password before. Suddenly it did, looking like an update. When I got in, every single note was gone. Months of research disappeared. Can anyone help me recover this?
