Not Fixed: Still can not create Local Notebooks
Wasn't that pulled several releases ago?

On my work iMac running OS X 10.11.6, Evernote shows the 'classic' notebook layout, no matter if the box is checked or unchecked.
Yes, I've restarted Evernote after checking the box.

Awesome.
We are pretty new to Office 365 (just over a year) so our notes are building. We might have hundreds and hundreds by now, but who knows? OneNote doesn't tell you how many you have.
It is also a hassle that every notebook is a separate file, so if you get a new PC, you have to open a few dozen files across multiple SHarepoint sites, vs just logging in to your account and seeing everything. And you can still forget a few notebooks until you need them, but until you do that, obviously you won't get search results in them. There is a switch in OneNote for Mac that lets you try 'experimental features' — but the opening and closing of the notebooks is positively glacial.

Because OneNote is a hot mess of text boxes and floating graphics that couldn't be exported into a sensible format. I use EN and ON every day - we are an Office 365 shop so OneNote for business stuff.
I die a little inside every time I need to do a search in OneNote. Lack of tags is absurd, and the annotation features are a joke. SOmetimes I'll annotate in Evernote the copy/paste the image back to OneNote.
You can quote me on this:
If you think Evernote is slow, or unresponsive - go ahead and load OneNote up with a few thousand notes and see what happens next.

Howdy, my name is macfixer, and I have a confession: I left Evernote for a while, but then saw how bad it was and wanted to bring my stuff back.
Why is there a Evernote to OneNote converter, but no OneNote to Evernote converter? It seems you're allowing your competitors to eat your lunch but letting people leave but not come back into the fold.
In the meantime, I will be copying and pasting notes one by one back.
(Yes, I know that OneNote and Apple Notes don't have export functions)

Ugh. Can anyone successfully copy and paste a file into this build? CMD-C of a PDF in Finder followed by CMD-CTRL-V is an instant and 100% crash for me. Just happened again. I sent in a crash log with the tag eh20170117 in it if someone from EN can look at crash logs.
Hold up — I didn't see you actually wrote "cmd-ctrl-v" (not sure what that does).
Pasting it that way crashed my Evernote. So, ignore my earlier comment

Works on my end ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Might be a bad PDF? -

Don't think that will work either. A Mac app is really a special kind of folder that holds lots of resources and pointers.
Black holes have been reported, but not confirmed.
That's just what THEY want you to believe

Grab the edge of the shortcut bar and drag it to the right…

The sidebar issues (reappearing "Upgrade Your Team", amongst others) remain in the 6.8 release.

Unfortunately, Evernote doesn't use it's own autocorrect - it's piggybacking on OS X's own autocorrect system.
To switch it off, look for it in Apple's System Preferences:

Hi Chuck,
Have you guys thought of using TestFlight for betas of Evernote? It appears beta builds of apps can be updated for customers running iOS developer/public betas. Just a thought.
Rob
I think (just spitballing here) it's because HockeyRink is cross-platform, which means that they can beta test all different software across different platforms.

This wasn't happening for me in previous builds, because I guess I already had a Premium account. However, when I right-click on "Upgrade Your Team" to hide it, it will pop back up on next launch.

I like evernote however the elephant logo on the top right hand corner of the web view does nothing!
Consider making this a hyperlink to a default page (resetting all searches) or even better a dashboard that summarises my account.
A dashboard could include a handful of information including;
Tasks, Saved Searches, Notebook Summary, Tags Summary, Evernote Tips, etc.
I only use the web client and iphone client for Evernote.

(Why isn't this feature in Scannable, or really, why isn't Scannable rolled into the Evernote app?)
I don't know, but if I had to guess, it's probably to split off the necessary resources and keep the regular Evernote binary smaller?

The tag autofiller really messes up text when trying to create a new tag from within a note. I try to type "Delta Dental" and the first D is always forced to lowercase because I don't have any tags currently that start with a capital D, only lowercase ones. Everything else seems to work fine. But, then when I try to type "DELTA DENTAL" with the caps lock key on, the "DE" of "DELTA" becomes "de" so I end up with "deLTA DENTAL" because I have a tag that starts with "de."
Gah!
This is why I gave up on tags

Hi I'm a new user. I don't see a place to check for updates without redownloading from the mac app store. looked all over, googled, etc. sorry for the basic question. I'm on version 6.1.1
Welcome aboard!
If you downloaded your copy from the Mac App Store, then you'd get updates from the Mac App Store's "Updates" tab.
Now, even though it's improving, all updates need to be vetted by Apple's App Store team. That means a delay from when the updates are made available from Evernote and when they'll show up in the Mac App Store.
If you want to sidestep Apple's process and download the updates directly, head to https://evernote.com/download/
Then, once Evernote pushes out an update it will notify you inside of the app. I hope that helps! Let me know if I can be of additional assistance.

The speed increase is very noticeable from b1 to the public release, speaking as someone with 2000+ animated GIFs in a notebook.

Evernote + Google Drive is a great idea.
But it is not the "idea" that users have been requesting.
What users want is attention to what they actually ask for.
Something like this:
1. These are your requests
2. This is what is not possible at the moment
3. This is the order in which we want to meet the rest of the requests
We will then all feel that we are actually being attended to and the development of the Beta will not feel like a lottery in which we may or may not be lucky.
FWIW Evernote, this is something Microsoft does with their uservoice pages:

Is there a way to add more than one google drive account? I keep track of several things and the ability to switch between two drive accounts would be great.
You can switch accounts from the Google Drive site, but Evernote will only link to one account at a time.

I just updated to 6.6.1 on my Mac (and I honestly should know better by now than to update anything without checking it out first, so my bad there) and I completely hate the dark thing that's going on in the sidebar now. Since I'm getting an enormous amount of chaff trying to revert versions, I just want to ask that you please, please give us some kind of control over the visual appearance, or at least reconsider your colour choices.
It's not so much a problem of aesthetics as that the dramatic difference between the dark Notebooks column and the rest of the window draws the eye leftwards, away from the open note where I'm trying to type. I have to hide that entire panel off the edge of my monitor when I'm not using it in order to get anything done. It's poorly thought-out visual design.
I'm also not sure how I feel about the header/toolbar backgrounds being the same colour as the text field; having actual borders there clarified things. Possibly your designers should take a step back and consider that they're not hanging this UI on the wall of the Louvre: it's actually supposed to be functional.
If you want to further hide it, you can drag the right edge of the column over to the left and collapse it, as seen in this screenshot:

Seconding for Dropbox integration, please!

Hmm. This topic is titled "The Evernote Editor", and is about Evernote's effort to improve the Editor on all platforms:
So, I can't imagine why you are posting here, since you " really don't care at all about editing on Evernote",
I suppose you would be since you never use Evernote to write anything, to edit anything, to create content.
I do hope you realize that Evernote is used by a wide variety of people for a wide variety of tasks, including writing on many levels. I think that there are many, many users (including myself) who need and expect Evernote to be a good rich text editor, but don't expect it to be word processor.
You seem to have some issues with Evernote search. Perhaps you would be better served by starting a new topic that is focused on your issues.
M-M-M-M-MULTI COMMENT COMBOOOO!

I hate to break it to you, but you're posting this in the wrong group - you're looking for the iOS group, not the macOS one.
