  1. UPDATE (12/16): we've released a patch (v10.5.7) to address a few concerning bugs in 10.5.6. You should be see this update soon in the Mac App Store. If you are already running the direct download version, you will see an automatic update sometime soon as we progressively roll out the update and do not need to take any action. ----------------------------- Hello! Today we are releasing Evernote for Mac 10.5.6 (v 10.5.6 build 2168). This is a big release, with lots of improvements both under the hood and functionality-wise. Below the release notes I’ve included slightly deeper descriptions for some of the functionality new to this release. Additionally, we’ve also added a new item to “coming soon”: email a note while sharing. It is available now via the Mac App Store and as a direct download version from our website. If you are already running the direct download version, you will see an automatic update sometime soon as we progressively roll out the update and do not need to take any action. New to Mac 10.5 - Access the keyboard shortcuts reference menu via the Help menu or by using the shortcut CMD + / Keyboard shortcut for creating a tag and an application menu entry point Tags can now be created in the edit tags pop-up menu Performance improvements for note loading, the sidebar, and attaching files Log files can be zipped and the smaller file size allows for easier emailing of logs to our support team Toggle on/off the recent notes section in the left nav Navigating the note list with your arrow keys is now more seamless and loads the editor automatically. Hitting enter takes you into the note. Hitting cmd + enter opens the note in a new window. Navigate to the top/bottom of the note list with the function + down/up arrow keys New note merge options added: separate note content with a divider or keep original note titles When you merge notes, the original notes are automatically placed in the trash unless you select "Keep copy of original notes" Tags are now a whole, scrollable part of the left navigation menu (not the scroll within a scroll) “Located in” filter is now available from the filter menu in All Notes Fixed highlights: Delay when copying an internal link Some keyboard shortcuts would not work when the note editor is selected Users now receive email notifications immediately when a note is shared with them Coming soon: Email a copy of a note via the share button Quickly search and move to different note using a keyboard shortcut (CMD+J) Create new audio recordings and playback audio file Dragging and dropping note links directly into your note Global keyboard shortcuts Additional export options Import folder Let us know what you think and we appreciate the continued feedback. We will keep hard at work! Thank you! -------- The keyboard shortcuts menu With Evernote V10 we’ve heard a lot of great feedback regarding missing or changed keyboard shortcuts. We still have some work to do here and will continue to add new shortcuts. To help with both discovery of new and old shortcuts, we’ve added a keyboard shortcuts menu (available in 10.5 via CMD + /). Our goal with the menu was to improve discoverability and in particular enable the opportunity for experimentation with the keystrokes that are available. Additionally we aimed to highlight the inline capabilities of the editor--you can find those in the last section of the keyboard shortcuts menu. Please try it out and experiment in the ways you can use V10's keyboard shortcuts. Merging just got better With V10 we enhanced merging by enabling you to reorder and selectively pick from merged notes. With this latest version we’ve enabled the ability to select optional line breaks and titling within the merge, as well as add a unique title to your merged note. This means for a cleaner merge experience that you can tailor a bit more closely to your liking. Additional ways to create tags We’ve been taking a close look at how we can improve the whole tagging experience for customers who work heavily with them. Making it easier to create tags with a keyboard shortcut, application menu option, and adding create tag to type ahead suggestions in the edit tags menu is a start. More to come.

  13. Got it--so the current workflow problem is that the new created note links require you to paste into Evernote and then copy the evernote:/// link to get it. Easy if you want to keep it in Evernote, extra work if you plan on distributing this out to other apps and not using the www note link. This is super helpful, thank you for the comments, and for confirming the existing classic note links are working correctly. We indexed for that out the gate and I was concerned there was an exception we might not be seeing. (and open call--anyone who does have an issue with a classic note link created from Legacy working, please do leave a comment)
  14. Thanks for the feedback on internal links--we're working on resolving a few specific issues around their functionality, namely the behavior of a evernote:/// link created on the newest version of Evernote. One item that we are still investigating is version 10's ability to pick up on classic (evernote:///) links created on the Legacy Evernote client. All of our testing indicates this is working and preserves classic link functionality, but we have seen a few reports indicating it is not. Have you had any similar experience? Or has it been the former, where new internal links created on the new Evernote do not work correctly on Legacy or when pasted externally as evernote:/// links?
  15. Got it. Thanks for checking. I have one last theory on this, which I think will involve a UX fix on our side. The list view is horizontally scrollable, it doesn't automatically scale to fit added columns. Is it possible the added columns are hidden behind the note panel? You can drag it out to expose additional real-estate for the list. I don't think this is happening because you mentioned it works with the view options button, but I want to double check (because our approach here radically changes).
  16. Searching offline should also be working and available. At initial install, we load up the note meta data first, which lets you quickly orient to what is available in the account, builds the lists, etc. The note content syncs in the background, and depending on the size of your account, may take some time to do this. If you click into any note or search for a note that is not synced yet, we will opportunistically load that up ahead of what is already syncing. That initial load of meta data can also make it look like the notes are unavailable if you go offline during this initial sync. I'd be interested if you're still running into an offline issue after the notes have loaded. Working offline is an important part of the experience.
  17. @stocky2605--I believe this issue may be resolved in the latest release. You can add/remove columns by right clicking anywhere in the list view column, or clicking the view options button when list view is selected. It looks like we have some work to do to retain the saved columns on a per view basis, which would increase the flexibility here.
  18. Quick search is coming soon (CTRL Q). Reviewing the Help Center article, I think we may have a typo. You can jump to search with CTRL+ALT+F--I've requested we get this updated. @pansovic--sounds like you may be experiencing a bug--and after some testing I think I found it--looks like when you are focused on the note it's not triggering the search. I've reported and we'll take care of it. If you see this happening elsewhere please let me know.
  19. Hi everyone--appreciate the feedback thus far. For two of the noted features above--we're continuing to work on internal links and their functionality. With regard to classic links and internal links, I'm testing against both and seeing them route correctly within the new Evernote. We have a future release to improve them when pasted outside of Evernote, but internally to Evernote they should be working on the latest version. What are you experiencing? As for TOC, you can now copy any combination of multi selected notes into a bulleted or numbered list in the editor, creating your own table of contents note, and re-arrange it using the editor's drag and drop capabilities for the bulleted list. It adds two steps, but increases the overall flexibility of being able to apply groups of note links throughout. Additionally, we remember the order in which you have selected the notes, meaning you can quickly compile your TOC list (or any list) of note links quickly for pasting into any note. Would really love to hear if that additional flexibility expands and improves upon the TOC functionality.
  20. Yes. This is the start of the foundation for a multitude of improvements both old and new, and we need and want the community's feedback as we go forward.
  21. @BadDuke would a system wide zoom option work for you (as in, all text, including your note text, gets bigger), or are you looking to specifically and only change the font in the UI? Just the sidebar?
  22. Making it easier to contact us y'all. More to come.
