  1. This was a discussion about the iPhone (IOS) The Adobe Acrobat app on this platform is for the reader. Is it possible you're thinking about Adobe Acrobat on other platforms?
  2. Is this still about @Boots problem with his iPhone and scanner?
  3. I just downloaded and tested Foxit MobilePDF I was able to open it with a PDF from my scanner app, encrypt it, and it interfaces with Evernote. I don't know too much about it; it was free
  4. I think that would be the best approach. I don't think Adobe Acrobat (IOS Reader) has the feature, but I read that PDF Expert 5 does encryption. Of course you lose the Saferoom master password feature. This does have the advantage of allowing you to add some unencrypted text to the note.
  5. That is true, there is no default tag - not sure I'd want it I have a default notebook (@inbox) where everything goes until I process it. On my mail-to-evernote process, I have the option of specifying notebooks or tags; I don't use it too much because I prefer the inbox process. How do you handle the situation where a note belongs in more than one notebook?
  6. There has been much concern expressed about this. Aside from the usual complaints about anything different, can you explain from your point of view why this is so important to you?
  7. There's nothing to stop you, but I think a more accurate term is keyword Disadvantage; - The Evernote tags are a more precise list. - You will never have spelling variations. - When tagging, you get a list of possible choices. Advantage; - When typing a note, you don't interrupt your chain of thought. - When exporting your notes, your information is sure to be there I do an html export as part of my backup procedures but it doesn't show my tags; Correction - Tags are included in the HTML code as Meta
  8. On the Mac, when printing, there is a PDF option list, with Evernote as one of the options
  9. This has been discussed before and various solutions were suggested. You might try a search of the forums. The method I use is a tag; !HotNotes. This is saved in my shortcuts section and allows quick access to a selection of notes.
  10. As you found, having one mass note is problematic. You can't assign reminders, scheduling etc. My process would be; After the meeting, copy each of tasks to separate task notes. (I would put a link into the original note) This allows me perform various actions on the individual task notes, such as reminders, scheduling
  11. On my Mac, I can click on the top menu View and select Hide Sidebar At the top right of the notes list, there is an option box. I can have the notes list on the top, and I can resize it.
  12. I haven't seen any solutions being proposed for this. Mostly, the discussion was about archiving notes.
  13. I saw it more as a solution, but then I'm into making things work
  14. Did you try out the suggestions to make archiving work? I'm satisfied using a !Archive tag
  15. Thankyou, I was missing the step of pressing the keyhole icon. It's working fine
  16. Could you please explain how Lastpass would be used in Saferoom? I'm not seeing it
  17. on my Mac, I use the Evernote Helper to do my clippings. It has a button box "Save To Evernote" but if you don't click it, the clippings just accumulate. When you finally click it, you get a single note. Or you can drag the clippings from there into an existing note.
  18. The Evernote app on my Mac has sign in/off with password
  19. So, it's not sufficient to have a password on the device, and a password on Evernote, you want Evernote to implement 3 other levels of password. If I was this concerned about a note, I would have it encrypted. If I was this concerned about notebooks during a presentation, I would be using a special presentation account.
  20. I'm not sure Evernote can be blamed for your problems. Why wouldn't you use tags for stacking items, for example: Insurance > House or Insurance > Car
  21. Hi Saferoom people. I think the product is great and I intend to use it. Was there any followup on this concern? As per the above note, I am concerned about the encrypted note being corrupted and unusable. Not even from infants, it could be myself accidentally hitting some keys. Of course this could be resolved if Evernote would implement a read-only feature. If this is still an issue, I'm going to make sure I have a backup. I'm thinking after encryption I have to do something with the original notes sitting in the intake notebook. I can just move them to a local backup notebook.
  22. OK - I got the message - you'd like encryption done at the notebook level and I'm sure the people at EN have noted it. I don't understand why this prevents you from using Evernote. Yes, it means you have to work around this, probably encrypting the data before you import it, or using local notebooks. Does this really make it impossible to use Evernote? Has anyone tried out the app Saferoom? It seems to be the best solution I can find.
  23. Xavier_ Could you expand the scope on this to change font/colour and background colour to all mobile platforms
  24. I find this to be the best work around in the absence of internal hyperlinks. It also resolves a few issues Lengthy notes are problematic; chance of corruption; searches are less effective. For example, in the case of a journal, I find it better to keep separate days instead on an entire month or year I can simulate collapsing and expanding sections by using links to sub-documents
  25. I think that's the most significant point in answering this question. If it's the technical definition of backup, you have to be looking at file backups both on and off site. If we're taking about trying to retrieve a note that somehow got purged, I go to my html export. And by purged I mean it's gone, not in the trash; not on the EN cloud.
