  1. The search syntax is documented here Evernote Search Grammar The notebook is not included in the "union" created by the "any:" operator. notebook:"Hot Stuff" any: mexican italian Matches all notes in the "Hot Stuff" notebook that have the word "mexican" or the word "italian" in them. any: - If this expression is found at the beginning of the search (after the "notebook", if present), then the search will return a note that matches any of the other search terms. If this is not found, then the default behavior will be used: a note must match all of the search terms.
  2. To use this script, you have to identify the location for your database As noted I'm using Evernote version v7.1 Beta 1 (456297 Direct). I suspect you're using the App Store version; I don't know if the app store version works with Applescript To identify my database location I use Option Key Help > Troubleshooting > Open Database Folder

  4. Backups are always a good idea. As well as Mac TimeMachine, I also run personal backups using Evernote's export feature; daily incremental and weekly full. Also the master version of my data is maintained on the Evernote servers. I can use this to rebuild my local copy of the database. Evernote also maintains a Note History backup that can be used to restore versions of notes.
  5. If you use a table, your screenshots will be restricted to the width of each cell.
  6. I know of no existing templates. You have a free canvas. I would use a template so that your notes are a standard format. Here's a sample of a template I use I'd also advise using separate notes instead of one long note. Although Evernote is not a real photo catalog, I include photos in my notes. I use the table feature to control the photo sizes and placement
  7. With my solution, you're editing file <some folder>/content.enml using your favourite editor. I use Textastic The script I use to identify <some folder> is documented here
  8. Yes, search and replace would be do-able in Applescript. You can also do a direct edit of the note's .enml file. General Evernote Applescript documentation at
  9. I'm also seeing; notebooks will not be required for sharing - you can simply assign the notes to one or more Spaces
  10. You're using the software provided by Evernote at no charge. You are welcome to select the version of the software you want installed. 11. Also applies to Mac and IOS Evernote is a cloud service, but the apps work fine in temporary offline mode; except for one small point - an internet connection is required to login to your account. I'm interested in hearing the explanation for this. My devices are password/touched protected, but I dislike the idea of never logging out.
  12. It would have been nice if you added a link. I found the post Here Leon, an Evernote employee stated that Evernote was looking into adding some additional levels similar to the Stacks feature. They've actually.implemented Spaces.
  13. I'm not sure where you're getting your information from. I've seen no indication from Evernote that they're interested in implementing a Notebook hierarchy. Evernote did implement tag hierarchy (Win/Mac/Web) for Personal Accounts, but not on the Business side.
  14. The Mac sidebar list has limited functions. I think the Windows sidebar is more complete. I'm ok with using the notebook/tag pages for these functions; it's not something I do on a day-to-day basis. In fact, I rarely have the lists displayed.
  15. Just my opinion, but very few users are willing to pay to fund any development work We will have to wait for the Business side
  16. I can only help you with extrication; as I said Evernote makes it easy to export your data. Post Evernote handling is your responsibility. Leaving it in the os filing system is workable.
  17. I'm not a big font user when writing notes but I have a template set up with a section of fonts and sizes. I can copy/paste from there. I'm using an iPad but I trust that also works in Android. >>really wish there was an easy way to extricate myself I takes me 20 minutes to export my data on my Mac (weekly backup). This leaves me free and clear of Evernote.
  18. I have a budget all in one scanner/printer at home and never use it. I use the Scanable app on my iPad. It depends on your requirements. Do you need quality scanning where you control the settings? sheet feeder? 2 sided scanning >>I'm thinking of getting a scansnap but just trying to figure out if it would be money well spent. I use one at the office. My impression is top of the line, but $$. I really have no preference, I use whatever scanner is available.
  19. >>I have been trying to find out how Evernote is stored on my computer. I'm using a Mac; a full data copy is maintained on my computer. The average user does not access this data directly, but here are the details The screenshots illustrate identifying the location. There are separate folders for each note. In comparison, Windows stores everything embedded in one .exb file. The metadata is stored in an sqlite database. Note content is stored in a .enml file (one for each note). This format is similar to html, with some extensions. >>what happens to my files? For post Evernote, it's easy to export your data in html format (readable in any web browser) In fact, I use this in my backups; at any time I have access to my data outside of Evernote. >>Since they don't seem to have a phone number and no one in support ever answers an email To contact Evernote Support All Accounts Twitter @evernotehelps Paid Accounts Contact Evernote Support
  20. There are two methods to contact support All Accounts Twitter @evernotehelps Paid Accounts Contact Evernote Support As a paid account; I use the web site. After answering the questions, I'm presented with Submit Ticket is on the right
  21. 15,000 notes. The issue doesn't seem related to the # of notes or the note contents
  22. I just submitted a ticket (# 2418452) I see the delay every so often. There's no pattern. My database is offline so there's no transmission delay
  23. We used to be able to control the sync interval or turn off syncing. How about if you disable your internet connection and work offline. Are you still seeing the flashing?
