  1. There's nothing official but I locked in right away, effective at the end of my current subscription. That's not to say there won't be changes before then
  2. Yes the functionality is the same; minus the stickers. Its just a picture of handwriting on paper.
  3. I've posted solutions here for rebuilding the search index. or a full sync of data
  4. Interesting, no mention of the subscription cost. >>Elaborate formatting of notes is not important to me, if needed, I would use a program designed fo r complex formatting. This is also my viewpoint; the Evernote editor is what it is. However I have access to many editors, and a note can include files of any format. >>Upload capacity Also critical to me. I don't need the Premium limit, but I cant survive with the Basic limits.
  5. A note can contain files of any format. The default is Evernote's enml format. You might consider which format best supports the features you need. For example, I use text files to store software code.
  6. Yes, there must be storage for the comparison; also for the hint. I'm trusting an encryption of the password is stored or some hash/checksum; I'm still searching for a reference to this. The comparison should be stored-encrypted-password to entered-encrypted-password
  7. Pending a response from an Evernote employee All accounts can contact Evernote Support at Twitter @evernotehelps Paid Accounts can use the support page Contact Evernote Support to submit a ticket or chat
  8. I'm on a Mac and can view the raw storage for data. Encrypted data is stored in encrypted form. I have to use the Evernote app to decrypt, and the password is required.
  9. While waiting for Evernote to respond, my understanding is Passwords are not stored unencrypted Access to an email password does not give access to your Evernote password (assuming they're different) Access to your account password does not give access to your encrypted text password (assuming they're different) There is a risk when the same password is used everywhere.
  10. Some of us need a sign >>If there is a quick way I can tell if someone has already replied and jump to that Its a deficiency in the forum software. Other forums like Reddit allow for threads within specific posts. I find the "quote" use helps so at least we can link a comment back to the original post.
  11. Access your subscription settings and downgrade to the Plus Account. The changes won't take effect until the end of your current subscription.
  12. The Plus account is no longer an option for new accounts No impact to existing subscriptions. >>Who made you the Relevance Judge? re: I could post a list of the apps I have on my devices....However this is not relevent to the discussion topic Certainly for my own posts, I exercise relevancy judgement. I encourage other users to do the same; otherwise the discussion drifts into Evernote Alternatives and Editor Printing Deficiencies.
  13. I could post a list of the apps I have on my devices. Some of them replicate some of the Evernote functions However this is not relevent to the discussion topic: Plus Account tier dropped for new accounts
  14. Except there's no "checkbox level", just an icon in the text. I use a checkbox list, but the dates are just text and I have ro reset the reminder manually (assisted by a script) Not sure where the User fits in. If it's delegated tasks; I use tag:!Delegated, and a tag for each person.
  15. So, i'm counting on no worries for at least 12m
  16. And this compares to the revenue EN loses by would-be premium accounts downgrading to Plus. imho Very few Basic account users are motivated to upgrade to a paid account. I suspect the Plus account had little impact on this.
  17. The IOS keyboard used to include this on the numeric keyboard. This would also be my preference.
  18. Evernote has a text encryption feature. There's no indication of plans to extend this feature.I use the native encryption available in attachments: pdfs, office/iwork documents, ...
  19. On Windows devices, all data is combined in an sqlite database named aaaaaaa.exb >>I am trying to set up a shortcut to open my Evernote data You can create shortcuts to specific notes using the Classic link feature. This is a url of the form evernote:///view/....
  20. Confirmed - this is not an Evernote feature Edited: As you discovered, there are third party apps that use a reduced footprint to give access to your Evernote data.
  21. What is your understanding of "Portable App" In addition to the web app, Evernote definitely offers an app for various devices.
  22. I see Evernote as a general purpose digital file service. At 4 votes, this request coud be considered a niche requirement. >>I should just seek funding, to create a better solution than all there is This is Evernote's story. They got the funding and created a better solution currently in use by over 200 million accounts.
  23. The export feature has two options, enex and html. >>2. if not, what information does an enex export include if not notebook information? Importing an enex file, creates new notes. They are complete duplicates of the exported notes, except for the notebook and include note content, attachments, and metadata (tags, dates, ...) >>3. does exporting a stack include all associated notebooks? As per my screenshot, the export is for all the notes. There is no notebook information, but the notes from each notebook will be included in the export.
  24. Stacks are simply a collection of notebooks; Local is not relevant. and Yes, you are able to export a stack. Warning: The enex export does not include notebook information. This is the purpose of a separate export for each notebook. Local Notebooks are indicated on the Notebook page.
  25. Anyone using Local Notebooks is at risk of losing data unless they have proper backups. Typically, users export their data in enex format; a separate export for each notebook. Data is restored to a rebuilt datase using the import feature.
