  1. Same / Similar thing happened to me just now. Differences: It Occurred just after my computer did today's largish Microsoft Windows 10 update. That is, I shut down all open apps before letting Windows restart to do it's update. Then restarted PC. (10-ish AM my local PST time zone). When things came back up the 3rd thing I brought up after Task Manager and Edge Browser was was Evernote via the icon on start menu. Icon on start "pane" had log but gave message that Evernote.exe was not longer available. Normal shortcut on Start menu is blank. The one possible end-user mistake I may have made (usually innocuous) was to quit evernote background task from the lower right taskbar notification area as one of my memory and disk saving habits during the previous hour as system and macafee were useing all disk resources while I was trying to complete some work before letting Microsoft run it's update. searching for anything "evernote" or "evernote.exe" right after the failure to run, I did find an executable (Evernote-10.53.2-win-ddl-ga-3935-bcf2e6bf75-setup dot exe) in a pending folder under my user name's appdata folder. Dated today at 10:05 AM. So I suspect that Everote and Windows were working an update at the same time and/or Windows update was trying to DO th eevernote update. either way, it failed at a point where the PC app was deleted before the update executable did it's job. I CAN see my data on Evernote on line so i suppose either doing a new download or running the update executable as administrator will bring back my app. Anyone here know which is a safer way to go or 3rd option?
  2. Two different longish notes duplicated 4 or 5 times this morning. I was doing data entry and returning to top of not and correcting typos by either manual entry or with spell checker. I have seen this problem periodically with many versions of Evernote, even since 10.03 I use the app version in Windows 10, generally not the Web version. During these errors, I had the version just before this on : 10.27.5-win-ddl-public (3122) Editor: v137.1.17455 Service: v1.44.3 © 2019 - 2021 Evernote Corporation. All rights reserved I am working on a win 10 Pro laptop, that has just also updated windows this morning 2 hours ago. (Yet EN was doing this over the last week anyway.) I have an Android app of EN, but it is off line at the moment. My internet connection is 300MB speed via Comcast. * I refer to "a version just before " because I have now just done an update to Evernote as well. To see if this helps. (Previous updates did not always help immediately, as the effect seems to be random and unrelated to My-side internet connectivity) So while I was entering this Comment at this forum, I also paused to make more entries into one of the notes that had duplicates. (This was AFTER i got rid of the previous duplicates.) In the last 10 minutes, Evernote did NOT YET create duplicates, FYI. ** SO, the comment I will add is partially in response to some threads about this issue from over the years that I have just read (and I have not read them all). One comment thread justified the duplicates and Evernote's message about it based on "justifying it" due to difficulty synchronizing due to tremendous internet traffic (implied to be AT Evernote's servers), in particular since Evernote has gone "All in the Cloud" for the last year or more. This is unacceptable. For one, a comfortable method for those who want to keep everything on a local drive, at least until a manual synchronize is approved by the user, ought to be still available, errors or not. Secondly, having to write outside of Evernote , then attach or copy-paste into a note, is a WORK-AROUND, not a true solution. 3rd, the message we get, about A duplicate (but having multiple duplicates) , when actually unavoidable due to server-end observed un-synchronization, should be know by Evernote technology, and be more informative, in such a way that an end user can more easily determine if that is the cause (vs a problem on the client side, for example) and have duplicate notes (older by a millisecond?) labeled in some way to assist deleting wasted duplicates wholesale, rather than having to go through each with each having a new "located a duplicate" message" time wasting mess. I myself have experience the fear of deleting the "wrong" note just in case the duplicates have some new data that another doesn't. We need a way to see which is the most complete "duplicate" or best latest without reviewing each and every one. Granted, so far, the latest, (by seconds), appears strongly to be the best, but the event can raise doubts. (I do keep my main "notes" list sorted by most-recent.) Thank you for your consideration. If more duplicates show up, I will return to this or any other suggested forum.
  3. This issue is NOT resolved! I have 10.3.7 (Plus version) On Windows 10 PC And am seeing a version of this problem in the last 2-3 weeks. - v 10.3.7 build 2018 public Editor: v111.0.14414 Service: v1.22.6 © 2019 - 2020 Evernote Corporation. All rights reserved I also use Evernote on two android devices and just now cant find where to see what android version have but it was updated a month ago so should be current. It seems that the duplications occur mainly when I use the Windows version. I edit far less in the android clients. The notification of a duplicate pops up when it has created 1 copy. I do not get multiples, at least not immediately, as far as I can see. I rename one of them to hopefully distinguish "which is which". Sometimes this seems to be related to synchronizing as there are a few seconds difference in the time stamp at first and a little content is missing from one of them. Yet it is still called a "duplicate" by the system alert. That observed symptom may be due to the fact that I am still editing, or go back in a few seconds to edit one copy before I realize that there are 2 copies. If there is another forum thread (for this variation of problem), or any official notice about this issue, please point me to it.
