    Reading this just saved me a lot of time and frustration. Thanks!

    I was able to confirm this by turning off Wi-Fi. Then started browsing notes and realized that some were blank and would display a message saying Download incomplete. My impression is that the upgrade process does not actually upgrade your local DB, but actually starts downloading all your notebooks content to rebuild a new DB.
