I have switched to Papleress NGX. It has only advantages. Free, open source, you can host it yourself, files are not stored in a database, so you are also independent, and much more that is better. I can only recommend the migration to Paperless NGX to everyone. I will now migrate all my customers.

Does anyone have an alternative? I am also willing to pay more and get a good or better working product. I use Evernote exclusively as a document repository for my household and two small individual companies.

I have the same problem when scanning, sending to, and sending by mail, a new notebook is always created directly. Apparently no default notebook can be selected. Which is a pity. But I think this is a mistake. I can't imagine that they intentionally disabled this feature ;-) And every time I send something to evernote via Windows Explorer or scanner, the message in EN appears: "Importprocess completed...." This message is also very annoying, can you add an option to hide it? In the old app this message did not exist.
