About robertmarkbram

  1. I open the web clipping within Evernote on an Android device. The search does not search within the content, only filters your entire collection of content. I see that I can copy the URL and then perhaps open that in a browser on my device, but that kills the offline function I was after.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not a particularly easy method: ease of use is why I started looking at Evernote, Readability, Instapaper, Pocket. The workflow or core set of functions I am after is the ability to save content (from a PC or device), have it stored in the cloud so that I can look at it on any connected machine/device, view it in offline mode on a device, and search within it as needed. Evernote, Readability, Instapaper and Pocket all come close, but also all fail on search. Wikipanion (on iOS only) and Opera (one device only) can do offline and search, but none of the sharing. I would rather use one of these two than convert content to PDF and manage it that way.
  3. But there is no "search within": when I open a document and tap on search (the magnifying glass) it performs the external search again, not showing me matches within.
  4. Thank you very much, I truly do appreciate the effort you put into finding a workaround, but I can see Evernote isn't going to do the job. I want an offline version on my Android device that I can still do full text searching on, and Evernote really seems to fall down here, just like Instapaper, Pocket and Readability. I wrote up my efforts here: http://robertmarkbram.blogspot.com.au/2013/11/chrome-to-mobile-device-with-offline.html To date, the only satisfactory partial workaround is to save the page offline in mobile Opera. 5. Hi All, I clipped this page: The Walking Dead TV Series Characters, but it is displaying in Evernote Android very badly, with text sitting behind the images (as below). Is there anything I can do about this? Rob
  6. Hi All, I have a clip saved and am viewing it on my Android client. I would like to search within the document for text. However, it seems that the search function only identifies documents that contain the term and doesn't let me see what the matches are within the document. Is this correct or is there something I am missing? Rob
  7. I have been using the *Windows Client*, v on Win XP. Anyway, I reset the shortcut to Win+A, the default, and it works now. Thanks!
  8. I set my own shortcut (but I get the same result for the default). I select text in my browser or a text editor, used the shortcut and got the error I mentioned.
  9. Hi All, Whenever I use the keyboard shortcut for copying text to Evernote - in Chrome or a text editor - I always get the same message: Clipboard capture failed ... did not copy any data to clipboard or there is no selection What is going on? Any assistance would be most appreciated! Rob
