  1. To me it's more than "very annoying" it is "infuriating" I've had Evernote "Classic" every since Evernote was launched, never had I not been able to copy and paste text with images into another note. No matter how many new 10.x (now at 10.61.x) versions, this problem persists all the way through.
  2. This slowdown or choking happens on both my latest and fastest MacBook Pro and Mac Studio so I don't think is a machine-specific or corrupted database on a specific computer. Evernote support is acting like they have never heard of this, so I am curious if any other users have experienced this?
  3. One big reason I prefer Legacy over v10 is that Legacy handles large notes (ie. > 30MB) with complete ease, there is no slowdown, no choking, no hanging. But even on latest version of v10, even if I add a 10KB file to a large note, it always hangs for a few seconds on my very fast Mac Studio. Sometimes it would completely hang and requires a restart of the app to make it work again. Is anywhere else seeing something similar? Evernote support has asked me to reinstall v10 which I already did and it improved nothing. Also, if this issue is experienced by others, I really don't have time to do free troubleshooting for Evernote right now and would rather wait for it to be resolved in future versions, if ever.
  4. Hmm.. I got excited that "Evernote Legacy" finally got an update, without fully understanding that "10.57.5" is just the "regular" (ie. new) Evernote. It all became clear upon launching the "new" Evernote Legacy.app , which is essential the "new" Evernote. I feel a bit like a victim of "bait and switch", because of the phrase "a new version of Evernote Legacy." I know it's technically not incorrect, but it is disingenuous. Why is this "migrated" client's app name still called "Evernote Legacy" whereas it's just the "new" Evernote? I like everything about the "new" Evernote, but sometimes its still so so so so slow to open large notes with lots of attachments, where the "old" Evernote Legacy opens in an instant. Also, notes with large attachments often hangs when adding new attachments, but the old "Evernote Legacy" works smooth like butter. Time to hunt for the old Legacy download link?! Is this
  5. @Mike P thanks for explaining this limitation. Based on your feedback, I was able to create a "Trigger" in BetterTouchTool, assigned to a keyboard shortcut with nine action steps to add a "checkbox" at the beginning of a new line without having to menu-dive or typing out manually using period and [] or [x]. For those who are interested, here is a 9-step sequence in BTT that you can use so you can assign any keyboard shortcut to create a "checkbox."
  6. Like the OP, I know about "checklists" but I don't like using "checklists" but every checklist has a weird indent that I can't get rid of. So I prefer to use "checkbox" which can sit flush on the left margin, but like OP said, Evernote designs "checkbox" with an "x" and there is no keyboard shortcut for "checkbox" so it's a bit hard to use.
  7. They load on my desktop browser but not on phone browser for some reason. Can you try a desktop browser. It's a third-party app.
  8. For those who has BetterTouchTool Mac app already (I do), find the "Insert Custom Text" function and select "Insert Custom format via Date Format Patterns." Then go to this page about Date Format Patterns and choose the pattern you like. For example, for those who like the old Evernote day/date/time format, you can use this "format pattern" that I typed out in the screenshot below: From now on, anyone can create and customize any date / time stamp format that meets one's purposes, and most importantly with one keystroke, despite Evernote not being able to provide this feature for years. Special thanks to @Mike P and @Boot17 for inspiring me to come out with this solution less than 24 hours I posted my question.
  9. @Boot17 thanks for posting solution to #3, in fact, you inspired me to solve another long standing issue (more than 3 years) in another thread 🙂
  10. Hi @idff you're welcomed. Well, after we all waited for 3 years, today I present to you a new way of adding date/time/timezone stamp in anyway one would like with one single keystroke. I mean I like what popclip can do, but I couldn't stand its popup nature and at times I could tell if the popup got activated. Please see my next post for a new and in my opinion a more elegant solution (one single keyboard shortcut).
  11. Wow @Mike P and @Boot17, within about 12 hours that I posted my last message, both of you managed to provide tangible solution to an issue that Evernote couldn't deliver to for probably years (ever since Evernote 10 came out). Using the BTT Mac tool, I am able to assign any keyboard shortcut I want to get my Evernote note to open in new window now. This is amazing!!! 🙏
  12. @PinkElephantPlease don't use this type of bullying language. Your phrase "spare us" attempts to or has the effect of turning other forum members against me, which is an act of bullying. Also, who made you the police on what other members should or should not post? Your self-assigned policing tone is unwelcoming, rude and a turn-off. Please consider examining the impact of your language before posting something like this in the future. I don't expect an apology but you must be made known how your communication style affected me. First I do not agree with your label of "low popularity." Also, many successful companies take into account many factors to determine popularity of a feature, not just by number or frequency of forum posts alone. Thank you for voting your support for the feature though.
  13. Thank you for confirming this, much appreciated. If you come across any new workarounds in the future, please share. Thank you again.
  14. @Mike P thank you so much for taking a time to acknowledge my request and providing helpful workarounds. Since I use Mac, I can use cmd+enter to open existing note in new window, however, just like you said, if the view doesn't have a note list, it doesn't work. Do you know if there is any keyboard shortcut to invoke the notes list view when the note list is not available? I have tried all shortcuts listed by Evernote but none of it works so far. Finally, you're so right about the "simpleway of opening the three dots (more actions) menu", that would have been a great workaround too, as it doesn't rely on the notes list view being visible.
  15. still no solution for adding day of week, along with date and time stamp automatically to Evernote.😞
  16. Ok, just found the timestamp extension. But I don't see adding day of the week listed as one of the options. Is there a way to add more formats to this extension?
  17. "PopClip appears when you select text with your mouse on your Mac." -- how does this help?
  18. While Evernote is seemingly working on some kind of "solution" to this long outstanding issue, does anyone know of a way to add day of the week? So the format will be: Tuesday, March 28, 2023 11:44pm Automator and Applescript could easily accomplish this but then of course Evernote 10 dropped support for Applescript. The alternative TextExpander is also expensive and subscription based now 😠
  19. I agree with everything proposed here. Especially "Open in New Window" Shortcut is ESSENTIAL now that Evernote has lost the "multiple main windows" feature. Evernote Team, please put these on your roadmap!!
  20. Come on, Evernote Team. You have shortcuts for almost everything but why is it that this one essential feature does not get a shortcut?
  21. Is there a way to add "day of the week" back to the CMD+Shift+D shortcut on Mac?
  22. Whether something is a hot topic DOES NOT translate to its importance This kind of inference is really insulting to long-time Evernote users like me (more than 10 years). Case in point, I didn't participate in the countless complaints about what is "broken" in the new Evernote because what Evernote did and this forum just depresses me, eg. giving me "Tasks" functionality that I really need but taking away many productivity functionalities that I've enjoyed over the years. Don't take things away, period. If Evernote wants to take something away, give users an option in Preferences to put it back, this is BASIC CODING DECENCY. What's worse is, on Evernote forums, there seems to be an army of "brand ambassadors" or "apologists" who keep making excuses for Evernote instead of having more empathy towards those who are effected. Enough of this. @steve49589 Don't be discouraged, there are many others like you who are in the same boat, despite unhelpful comments that you may have received.
  23. I just want a simple shortcut for "Open [current note that I am editing] in New Window" why is it so hard for Evernote to understand the need/use cases of these by not building a keyboard shortcut for it? I can go into multiple uses of why the "Open current notes that I am editing in New Window" but if people are just going to give me counter-arguments why it's not needed then it's really dis-empowering because I have used Evernote for more than 10 years, and I know how this function can increase productivity in multiple ways. I don't want to use a mouse to move to notes list and then double-click. I don't want to use a pointer/keyboard to jump or navigate to the note, then highlight it, then press Ctrl/Cmd + Enter. All these are time-wasting hurdles that can be solved by having a shortcut for "Open [current note I am editing] in New Window." The Legacy Evernote even allows me to "open a note that I am searching for in a new window" if you invoke "Cmd + J" when on a note window, but this "feature" is gone in the "new" Evernote as well. Does anyone listen? Should I send a request directly to "support?"
