I would also suggest exiting Evernote before replacing the files via File -> Exit, to ensure that EvernoteTray is not running at the time.

That said, I like the concept, and perhaps there could be some improvement (how, I don't know) but I also think that notebook owners also need to think more about their content and how it is used. (like a website I guess)

By joining the notebook you are accepting the fact that there will be notes in your account, but there is a degree of separation and identification between the notebook and yours.

The tags however are something that (while they may be implied) are not something that is included/accounted for with the notebook and so I don't think I should have them.

Thanks for the feedback, this is the kind of thing I was looking for, the opinion of those that are using the Notebook.

I like the concept of mixing the different things, but the fact that they are mixed in is something that I am not comfortable with.

To be able to access the Evernote V5 Public Beta you have to have installed Evernote directly from the website, NOT via the Mac App Store.

If you have installed it through the App Store, then you will not see the "Pre-release" setting as described in the blog etc.

Also, as I understand it, it is advised against switching between the two if you have local notebooks.
