  1. Strange, I think I see the same here. Also, right clicking and selecting Send To has the same effect. It does not seem to work with htm files. You can see in the activity log that it is running with the correct parameter, but not importing the file.
  2. I'd say so! That menu option used to say 'select unassigned tags' not delete. Need to take a new look at that list, seems there are a few more options than I recall.
  3. Just to explain a little. Last I recall, he is a windows user. He was referring to a hidden menu that has moved recently. Previously it was obtained by running Evernote with an additional command, it contains an option that has exactly what you were looking for. It would select all the tags with no notes associated. It changed recently to become less difficult to access and so easier to use. I wonder why it doesn't show for you. Edit:thread about it moving: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/65217-optimize-database-removed-from-evernote-windows-56/
  4. You are correct, it means to log in as a second user. You don't need to pay for a second account, I have two myself. A Premium one and a Free (Testing) account. If I remember correctly, only one of the accounts has to be Premium, to enable the option.
  5. I have run into this myself, not sure exactly what it is. I think I may have opened the thread in a new tab on my phone for it to work. Either that or I have loaded it in the non-mobile view.
  6. I will expand on this just a little, if Geoff is ok with it. Effectively, in an effort to try and make this all work a little better, I have been pestering him for more options I was (am) quite aware of how an accidentally hidden post can cause a lot of noise, with various "reasons" being thrown around. At the end of the day though, if someone is hiding multiple posts and accidentally ticks one too many, then it can happen. Seriously, it can be rather easy to do! I had asked for a way to revert mistakes if we had made them (assuming we realised that is) rather than have to have a thread like this, where speculation can get a little out of hand if we are not careful. The show hidden, is a tough one, because it is one of the options that skews that line we are all trying to work out here, as it is a little more powerful than just that. Also, I think the way the forum software works, this option includes a few others, which are not ideal. So, it is still a changing area with regards to moderation and we are all trying to get it right. Might not be necessary to point out for most, if not all, but currently, the best thing to do should this happen is to send a message to either Geoff or Charlotte above. They are the ones who can delve into it and work out what happened, fixing any mistakes or what have you. If a thread does show up like this, then you can report it to them too, so that they see it. Scott
  7. I just tested it here and it does work in (273492) Are you completely closing Evernote when you try to make the registry change? (file -> exit) You have to do this otherwise it will overwrite your changes when you start it next.
  8. What time zone do you have set here? https://www.evernote.com/ReminderSettings.action
  9. Where are you seeing this second option? I really am not sure what you are seeing that is different to me.
  10. I tend to put a reason, even if it is just "spam", but that is me. (I thought it was required too ) I am not sure what you mean by the fact that there are two options. Remove spam is hide. They are one and the same. Just in a topic, it is called "remove spam" Outside of a topic, when you multi-select, it is "hide" You still get to the same result. EDIT: I would go so far as to say that I would like to see a reason being mandatory. Having just removed a duplicate post, how does an admin know what that would be had I not made that clear? Would that then cause unnecessary questions/confusions, when two words are sufficient?
  11. Aren't they one and the same? You have to give a reason for removing/hiding the post, before it is completed.
  12. Anything obvious in the log files? Should be in: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Evernote\Evernote\Logs
  13. If I recall correctly, this is related to Presentation mode? I'll try and dig up the thread. EDIT: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/54941-any-idea-what-evernotenwexe-does/ Import issue: Have you tried deleting the import folder setup in Evernote and recreating it? Bear in mind that it may try and import all of the files at once when you do if there are some in the folder. Can't exactly recall the behaviour.
  14. I think GM is refferring to when you "View New Content" i.e. https://discussion.evernote.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=viewNewContent&search_app=forums
  15. If I remember right, it is a carry over from the old Favourites bar, where there were shortcuts for tags, notebooks, saved searches and Attibutes. Might be more, I dont remember. Seems like Notebooks (Alt + Shift + N) and Tags (Alt + Shift + T) are the only ones that work anymore. They work slightly different bear in mind. The tags one acts on the current search criteria I believe, where the notebooks one simply resets the search to that notebook.
  16. Closest I can think of is: F6 (reset search to all notes) Alt + Shift + T (Open tag filter, start typing and select tag) This leaves you ultimately at the same place as the search bar in your image
  17. Thanks for a great tip! I only wish we could do this in EN Mac. Evernote Devs, are you listening/watching? If you don't want to mess with the registry, there is also ENRegEd, my app. https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/64040-windows-enreged-access-evernotes-hidden-registry-settings/ Replace steps 2 onwards with: - Run ENRegEd, click advanced - Set "Search as you Type delay" to desired setting - Close the app Done This is a common discovery/blog post it seems...Just one of many options you can change in EN Windows. Not everyone is comfortable with making changes in the registry. Maybe my choice of using a shared notebook doesn't help the awareness of the other options.
  18. No Problem I have been messing with the EN Registry entries for ages now, so it has almost become muscle memory to Quit EN before running Regdit Evernote don't typically announce any roadmaps or plans too much (if at all) really. So if they were planning on such a thing, we probably wouldn't know. Certainly not something that I have heard of I'm afraid.
  19. The KB... If I am honest, I have never been a fan of it. At best it has half the information you need. The API docs have always been my go to for info. This was partly a reason for my shared notebook(s), I found I could expand on some topics, or they simply didn't exist. I had a vague hope that the information would at least be thought about when someone wanted to go through it all.. This reminds me, there was a section of the forum dedicated to the KB a while ago, which didn't really help... But an example of this, is a note (with a corresponding thread) that I had long ago about search operators. No idea how relevant the information is, but I am betting not too much has changed. A quick look shows this to be a relatively accurate representation still. http://www.evernote.com/l/ABqE16k9ocRFQ7zaxi_zAKpf2gkSp-64n5I/ Hopefully the KB will get a more thorough update at some point.
  20. Welcome to the forum Right setting, slightly wrong (though not obvious) process. If evernote is running (as I understand it, specifically EvernoteTray.exe) then you will have trouble changing settings. When Evernote is quit (File - Exit) then it will save it's current settings to the Registry. If you have changed them in the mean time then you will find that they are overwritten. Try quitting Evernote via File - Exit, then changing the setting. This appears to work for me. Scott
  21. Just to explain a little what is happening: Evernote saves it's settings in the Regsistry. These are saved when Evernote is quit (via the file menu or typically on shutdown etc.) There are some cases where Evernote doesn't get a chance to do this saving, for instance if it is closed by the system before it is done, or there is some conflict somewhere. (I don't know the exact reasoning, just vague examples ) In any case, File - Exit forces the save to the registry and should allow you to save your settings in the event that they do not stay.
  22. I'm under the impression (based on my own notebook) that current notebooks that are public are still accessible, but you can't share new ones I don't think.
  23. Ok, here is the confusion. Something is not working right on your end I don't think. The first method appears to work for me, but I am using 5.9.2 Beta 1 it seems so that may be why. Not sure entirely.
  24. If I understand correctly, it is that if there is not enough space in the toolbar, to show the text "Click to add Tags" then you see a blank space. http://www.evernote.com/l/ABrTjlSf9VJI6LlLqwcV4jP4eAKhuaL8PgA/ I'd suggest either: - Resize the note view to allow for a larger toolbar or - Uncheck show labels for the toolbar items in the note toolbar (Right click on the note toolbar and uncheck show labels.
  25. Thanks for the kind words Just a slight update to ENRegEd, another button to fix the list view height if you resize it to the point where you cannot resize anymore. There is currently a bug reported for this: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/64517-evernote-list-view-disappearing/#entry293168 Going to have to think about the window size again, getting a little cramped
