  1. I think that this has been discussed before. To find your bank account number in your example you'd need to search for 1234 or 1234*. There may be a more clever approach to enable what you are trying to do but, as a simple search, start from the beginning of the text string. I know that search is receiving a lot of attention from the devs right now. Some improvements along the way.
  2. No, that option does not exist. You have to manually drag the item down or just delete it if it is no longer required.
  3. The Evernote Windows screen shot tool was broken by an update from Microsoft. There is a really simple workaround which works well. Using the standard Windows screen clip Win+Shift+S will pop the clip onto your clipboard and you can paste that directly into a note. If you prefer you can connect the Windows screenshot directory to Evernote as an Import Folder and then Win+Shift+S will copy the screen shot into a new note in the same way that you are familiar with. Just remember to empty the screenshot folder before linking to Evernote or any images already there will be imported without your choice. You might like to review this thread...
  4. The realtime sync which is what supports RTE is what you do need. The roll out has left a lot to be desired. However, I don't think there is, now, anyway back. You can opt out by reverting to the Legacy program but that will only delay the pain. Once Legacy has gone the data structure change will need to be delivered but, possibly, with less interruption to our workflows.
  5. Actually the RTE stuff is really about real time sync and that's a good thing for all users. Clearly the issues need to be fixed but I don't see and don't hear of note duplication now. Lots of stuff is interdependent. So disabling function may not be a practical way to go.
  6. I never thought I'd say this but, as I get older, I need a bit more clarity in the text that appears on screen. Perhaps you could chose a darker font colour. I copied the text to another application so I would suggest that you go to the home of the forums and search for Excel. You might find some useful conversations there.
  7. @Spirion I think your issue is the exact opposite to the OP who was saying that the local apps were slower than the web. You might like to find a thread in the web application forum that is relevant and move your post there or if there is nothing then start a new thread.
  8. I don't use OneDrive and I discovered that my screenshots are saved in C:\Users\my_user_name\Pictures\Screenshots So I connected that as an Import Folder and now Win+Shift+S performs exactly as the Evernote shortcut. So even better than what I did before. I added the screen shot folder to my batch files that cleans out my Import Folders on a daily basis so old screenshots are removed. Which is a good thing since I have a gB or more just sitting taking space that I didn't know about Thanks @CptWasp
  9. Good point. I just assumed that we were thinking of a mobile app.
  10. This has been noted by others. There are threads with various recommendations. I resolved it by changing the taskbar colour (search via a search engine). I recall a clever individual worked out a means of substituting a different icon but this was a very unofficial tweak. You'll have to search forums for the threads. I can see that Evernote is in good company on your screen shots with two other tray icons in white. In short, use the OS settings since this issue hasn't had any traction since it arrived with Windows 11.
  11. Of course you can revert to an earlier version of Evernote but this will simply be updated to the most recent release when the app identifies that a new one is available unless you disable automatic updates which requires some cleverness with the config.json file which is not recommended It is nothing to do with the number of notes that you have. Each note needs to be processed for the new sync when you first access it since RTE was introduced. It should only happen once. We would imagine that note size might have an impact but I have seen reports of large notes being processed quickly and small notes taking forever. I suspect that it is an issue which is worst when the servers are at their busiest. So, my guess, users in the Americas get a worse performance hit than those of us in Europe depending on time of the working day. But that is a guess. I suppose that it would be possible for Evernote to shut everything down and do some magic in the background but I doubt that users, in general, would tolerate that. Another guess, that trying to do something in the background with a live system would create severe conflicts with notes that were currently being edited/viewed. I can only assume that the developers considered all these things and concluded the approach taken was the least worst. We know that cancelling the Legacy application was considered and rejected. Running two separate sync process is what has created the issue or at least made it worse than it might have been. I think you asking me to do all the searching for you. I'm sorry but I don't have time for for that. Your favourite search engine should help or you can search in the forums. I can point you to the Evernote Blog for an official message. There are other posts in these forums by a few Evernote staff but mostly we are just fellow users. The tech stuff is at the very end of the post: https://evernote.com/blog/evernote-pricing-upcoming-features-update/
  12. I don't remember the screenshot option as described but I typically take a screenshot on the device then attach it to a note. Probably a couple of steps extra but barely a significant delay in my workflow.
  13. Thanks for your update. Venting can, sometimes, be good for our own souls even if it isn't so great for our neighbours 🥴 I'm not surprised that commas don't translate within tags. They are a delimiter between fields so unlikely to transfer well.
  14. The current release version is 10.56.7. I'd recommend a full uninstall with AppCleaner to get rid of troublesome files. Then download the current version from https://evernote.com reinstall and see how you get on.
  15. @DaveM you evidently have a separate issue logging into Evernote on the web. I've seen this in the past with individuals. I think the only way around was to directly connect to Evernote via a mobile device where the app has a support link. It may be that @Scott T. or @RMorgan may drop by and assist. In the meantime grab a mobile device and try starting a ticket there.
  16. I think that Evernote staff have explained. There are several threads where senior and other Evernote staff have stepped up. The introduction of RTE and it's associated sync has introduced a new data format. When notes are opened a conversion process is triggered on a note by note basis. This is required because a decision was made to continue supporting older versions of the software which require the older format. I agree with those who believe that a different approach should have been considered but it seems that the problem wasn't fully anticipated. I fear we are where we are and there is little possibility of a radical fix.
  17. The shortcut is, basically, the same. If you place it at the start of a line of text it starts a checklist. Place the shortcut in the middle of text and you get a check box.
  18. We're all users around here. You have to deal with Evernote support via ticket. Choose My Account or Billing & Payments.
  19. Sounds like it could be a data glitch... Try logging out and removing your data from the PC. Sign back in and allow the data to rebuild.
  20. When the Task reappears it should be with the new date/time on the recurring schedule. Is that not the case?
  21. Enjoy Legacy whilst it remains available. My guesstimate is that it will be withdrawn within 12 months. Apart from the cost of operating two separate sync systems, the Legacy software was stuck. Different features depending upon platform and no development. It really is time to plan for the future. If it is Legacy or move then it would be wise to make the plan to move while there is time to make careful decisions. Of course whatever new software is chosen will come with a similar learning curve to adopting v10. So there will be pain whichever route is chosen.
