  1. It doesn't matter what view I'm in. I stay in All Notes if that's where I'm at. It only happens with the "Move Note" keyboard shortcut though. If I click in the note and choose another Notebook or go to the Note info and change it, I don't move away from the note. It seems to only affect the keyboard shortcut. Can someone else please try it to see if you get the same results? Find a list of notes Select a note and hit Shift+Alt+M. Select another notebook and hit enter. Does the note selected change to the next note in the list? It would be nice to know if it's just me or not.
  2. This happens in any view. Even if I'm just looking at All Notes. I change a Notebook for a note, it's like the view refreshes, and I'm instantly pushed to the next note. I'll see if I can do a screencast or something.
  3. Not sure if this is the right place to bring this up, but I think this is a bug. It's been there for as long as I can remember. If it's been brought up elsewhere, I can't find it in this forum. So I'm working in a note. I maybe change the title, set some tags, update the dates. I do this a lot with notes that come in from FileThis. Bills and stuff like that. I then use the shortcut to Move it to another Notebook (Shift+Alt+M). I move it. And the focus changes to the next note in the list. I never stay in the note that I started in. That doesn't seem like normal behavior to me.
  4. Really enjoying this video series to see all the work that goes on behind the scenes. I like knowing that a lot of care and attention goes into so many aspects of the service and apps. Even the little things like what the button should look like to create new notes. I also like Ian's comment about making Tags a "first class" feature of the mobile app. I couldn't agree more. Not sure if this is the best place to mention it, but are there any plans on being able to edit or update the dates on the mobile app?
  5. No serious reasons. It's been a busy several months with moving and everything. My MacBook Pro is 8 years old as well. So maybe a little wary of big upgrades like that.
  6. I cannot use the keyboard shortcut to edit tags in a note. (Command + ') Is anyone else seeing this behavior? Version 7.9 (457563 Direct) Editor: 62.3.7750 (ee6e44e) macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)
  7. On Mac, it's like second nature to me. Muscle memory. Have to look it up. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313358-Keyboard-shortcuts-in-Evernote-for-Mac ⌘ | Select Note List I use that all the time on Mac to move around in the Note List and edit multiple notes. If there is a way to do it in Windows, I haven't found it yet. I basically use F2 to edit the title of a note and Shift+Tab to move back to the Note List. It's not a very elegant solution. Back to the Mac version though. I wish it could be customized more. I mean customizable toolbars is a staple of Mac OS, right? Yet the Windows client is way more flexible in this area. You can even throw your shortcuts up into the toolbar. I wish there was one client to rule them all ...and in the darkness bind them.
  8. Ok @Dave-in-Decatur and @TK0047. I hear ya. I'm using the Windows client in Windows 10 everyday at work. It's definitely my favorite client, especially compared to the Mac, Web, and iOS versions. The cursor disappearing (which was my biggest complaint) seems fixed now. If we're talking about the same issue. I wish there was a shortcut key to focus on the list of notes (like there is in the Mac version) and PDF handling could definitely be improved, but other than that I think it's pretty solid. Can you give me some specific bugs, and I'll test them out? I did notice some weird text resizing with tables.
  9. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard someone say this about the recent rebranding. Just go to the discussion forums. I see where people are coming from but rebranding can be very important. It’s like a team huddling before a big game. It tries to get all the players on the same page. If done right, it pumps them up and makes them focus on what’s truly important. Just my take.
  10. I'm just now finding out about this beta version of the web client. Looks really good! For some reason I can't see my shortcuts though. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm sorry I didn't have time to read through all the posts. I did try searching. Maybe I missed it.
  11. So I just played around with Notion for a little bit. It's easy to sign up with a Google account or create a new one. Holy cow, there is a lot of potential here. I'm not interested in moving my life over to another app right now, but if I was I would seriously consider Notion. I'm kind of overwhelmed by what it can do. If you just need a place to keep text, there are probably better options for that. But if you need text, next to tables, next to images, next to whatever, it seems like this might be the way to go. Seriously, spend a few minutes playing around with it. Here are some of my first impressions: Very visual. Lots of emojis. You can add covers to pages and grab beautiful images from NASA or Art Museums right within the app. Everything appears to be block-driven, so you create the kinds of blocks you need and move them around as needed. Indent blocks to make them child blocks of a parent. It's really well done. If you just need text, just type text. You can create code blocks and then choose a language. Not sure exactly what that does yet. Maybe it just highlights keywords. Heavy focus on keyboard shortcuts. Yay for that! Lots of ready-made templates to create calendars, kanban boards, and so on.
  12. This is for the OP. Have you looked into Bear? I know they have an Evernote import tool. There's also this new kid on the block (well, new to me) called Notion. It looks like it's meant to be more team-focused supposedly replacing other apps for wikis, notes, docs, etc. Might be worth checking out. I think I may actually give it a throw. Bear is neat but is pretty much Apple-focused only. It looks like you can import Evernote HTML files into Notion. You'll have to do the images manually though. https://www.notion.so/Importing-Guide-b915f547304b401eb1e2ccf742cfe849
  13. Might I suggest Note Links creating like a table of contents or index to the other notes. I use this all the time for things like tax time. I have a Tax Time Checklist for every year and all of the entries in that checklist are note links to the specific documents (W-2, 1099, etc.).
  14. Not sure if this helps but you can sort the reminders by Due Date ascending. Unfortunately, it's for ALL your reminders though across all the notebooks. 1) Click on Notebook or All Notes at top. 2) Click on Reminders. This will show you ALL your reminders by Due Date ascending.
  15. +1 I process all my bills in Evernote and it's a pretty robust process, and I've gotten really good at using those shortcuts to get around. Shift+Cmd+| - To get to the note list Shift+Cmd+I - To edit the note info. Change the created and updated dates. Assign tags here if I want. Cmd+' - If I want to handle notes from the note list. Ctrl+Cmd+M - To assign to notebooks I feel like I've mastered these and it's nice being able to use over 90% of the app via keyboard.....and then there's reminders.
  16. I'll add this to the Feature Request topic. I wonder if part of the problem with keyboard shortcuts is making sure they don't interfere with the browser's shortcuts.
  17. I believe I'm using the same thing and it works great for me...as long as I'm using the direct download version of Evernote (not the App Store version). The only issues I've ever had with it are when I've downloaded PDFs from certain sites using Chrome. It's as if a placeholder for the actual file gets uploaded to Evernote. Only seems to happen at certain sites. Could be a PDF size issue maybe. Like the Applescript is moving the file before it's fully downloaded.
