  2. The prior public version I had installed for Windows (7) showed all notebooks that were shared with me. After this update, even though the release notes promised to display the notebooks the prior capability is broken. The only thing I see in "Shared with Me" is a note someone shared with me and that I cannot delete. On my Win 10 machine, running version 6.16.4.8094, the feature works as promised. I'm holding off on updating Evernote on my other machines until this is fixed.
  3. This issue is still not fixed on Windows Release version 6.17. Though the release notes say "- Now there’s one easy place to find all the notes and notebooks that have been shared with you. Check out “Shared with me” over there in the sidebar." the only I thing I see under "Shared with me" is a note shared by someone that I cannot delete.
  4. Just happened to me, version 6.9.7.6770 for Windows; this was a first. I closed Evernote -- including right clicking on the EN icon inside the notifications taskbar to close all EN processes -- and restarted EN from scratch. The note panel is now displaying properly. Lena
  5. Evernote took forever to implement reminders -- users requested them for years -- but I consider them very unfriendly. The assumption that I want to be reminded of something in one hour, and having to manually go through the individual D/M/Y/H/M/S subfields (thanks @jefito for typing this out) to change that, is shortsighted and limiting. I would love to be able to set the reminder for a date without having to specify the time. I wish I could have any untimed reminder pop up at a time I specify (for me it would be 9 AM). Evernote reminders are so annoying in this aspect I seldom use the feature. As a result I've implemented my to do lists in Todoist, not in Evernote. lena

  7. I'm going crazy after the latest update -- there MUST be an easy way to do this. When I type Ctrl-N to enter typed text in Evernote for Windows, the cursor location defaults to the Note field. But now, rather than take the first line of the note (as it used to) as the title, every new note I create is titled Untitled Note. So, to avoid having hundreds of Untitled Notes at the end of the day, I've been repetitively forced to remove my hand from the keyboard and MOUSE to the title field in order to type something. Is there a fix to this? Alt-Tab, other Tab combinations don't seem to work. Bad enough this was the default behavior on Android (which I avoided by using Windows more than Android for new notes), but at least on my tablet typing and mousing are one and the same. Please, PLEASE fix. Thanks, Lena
  8. That's the thing, Gazumped. I too don't want to do 2 extra actions -- scroll up and delete something -- before I can jot down my first line which I want to be the title of my note. The lack of this feature has always irritated me on Android, and I'm here today because the capability to autotitle with the first line of a note seems to be gone from Windows. Now the Windows new note defaults to "Title," and I"m forced to do the same 2 extra actions -- go to the title field and copy my first line -- so that I don't end up with "Title" as the note title. Versions before 276742 seemed to pull the first line of a note and make it its title, but now this capability seems to be gone... with no option to configure. Why break something that worked well? I end up with several notes titled "Title" because now Evernote is forcing me to enter data into its fields a certain sequence. Where's the "freeform" freedom that we used to have? lena
  9. Zapier works but is expensive, and your reminders take awhile to show up on gcal. You can try it out for free and find out if it's enough for you.
  10. Also searching for this capability in the current version of EN... bugs me that I'm going to have to examine 100+ notes by hand to see which are "acceptable" clips from *.edu domains.

In the spirit of all the negative sentiments expressed on the Mac forum, https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/73743-how-to-turn-off-work-chat/ I would like to reiterate the same request here, with the aggravation that I'm running EN on a Samsung phone. To see the HUGE Work Chat icon right next to the search icon, and to have the Work Chat feature rammed down my throat ABOVE All Notes is EXTREMELY IRRITATING. What makes you think that I'll even use this feature? Thank you.

  16. Just receive a standard email from Charlotte in response to my ticket, "I'm going to escalate this to our billing team for further assistance. Please understand that they are working on your case and a team member will respond to you as soon as they've had time to research the issue." I replied, "Just please bill my credit card on file and reinstate my Premium status! We'll talk later about the bug and the rest of the issue.Thank you." Maybe in another two days they'll do that.   17. https://zapier.com/z...ernote/todoist/ Zapier works in a limited fashion, especially when it comes to reminders and integration with Google calendar, but it's expensive. I'm about to investigate IFTTT within the next 2 weeks.
  18. Well... 48+ non-weekend hours have passed since I filed the support ticket, and no reply yet. I'm now 2 days into my now limited 30-day 60 MB quota, 30 MB of which I've used (there's a reason why I've been premium for almost 5 years). I'm starting to panic, with only 2 more days to go before I reach 60 MB and Evernote stops syncing new stuff. I'm about to spend the next 24 hours at locations without free internet access and I was counting on having offline notebooks; now I'm literally having to PRINT the info that I need to have with me rather than counting on my cell phone. I think that beyond the idiocy of this bug and the lack of responsiveness of Tech Support (quite clearly this forum is no longer manned by EN employees on a consistent basis)... What really, REALLY annoys me is that their original email said that I would have a grace period until they attempted for the second time to bill my credit card. Had I not innocently deleted my nonworking credit card on file, I not be going through this anxiety about running out in 2 days. Now I also fear that since my account is "free," they may not even TRY to bill my credit card and reinstate Premium. I'm entirely at the mercy of the tech support ticket queue rendered to "free" users. Maybe by the first Tuesday of next year they'll fix this for me. Evernote Corp. -- I am officially designating your treatment of your customers as HORRID. If it weren't for the good folks in this forum I would be feeling completely abandoned.   20. Hopefully. I'll report back on how many days one needs to wait for free support, LOL. I'm quite annoyed, actually, not only at the hour I've wasted on this issue, but because my productivity is now suffering until they decide to read and act on my ticket. My monthly limit is back to 60 MB, Windows interface is back to Free with Premium features gone, support for MS Office attachments gone. On Android phone, offline notebooks gone. And I don't even want to think of what else. "Good luck" sounds right, thanks.
  21. Thanks, Jefito. I had tried entering "billing" issue in the support form but it refused to stick. Based on your input I tried again after rebooting, and learned that the correct way to access it was via the web Evernote interface, "contact support" dropdown from the account name on the upper right corner.
  22. My credit card number was changed a couple of months ago due to suspected fraud. Today I received an email stating that payment couldn't be made for Evernote Premium. Per the directions I went into the EN website, entered the new credit card info, and deleted the old credit card info, because it no longer works. Apparently I shouldn't have done that, because immediately after that, a) My account is no longer premium I cannot enter any credit card in "upgrade to premium" screen -- whenever I submit it, error messages (see screenshot) appear c) I cannot get chat or personal support for this issue because... I'm no longer Premium. I've been Premium since 2010 and this is really frustrating. I consider the limbo I'm now in as an extremely user unfriendly design flaw. Your customers shouldn't have to go through this hoop of error messages because they delete an old credit card. Thank you. Lena Rotenberg
  23. I understand that EN doesn't have its own addressbook, and can appreciate the myriad reasons (including our having to keep different addressbooks synced). However, it's obnoxious to have to go hunt for an email address when I'm forwarding a note (share | email). A workaround was posted in 2013, https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/28887-populating-the-address-book-in-evernote/. I might try that - easier than going to gmail, composing new message, and allow autocomplete in gmail to pop up the address which I copy and paste onto Evernote. (Ugh.) In Windows, the newly implemented Work Chat somehow accesses my Gmail addressbook. However, no addresses at all are accessed: 1. On my Android Nexus Tablet. 2. When I email a note to someone -- far more powerful than the one-line chat capability. Are these capabilities in the works? Has someone found a better solution to use the Email from Evernote option?   24. In the spirit of trying to find answers in this forum prior to posting a question, I continually use the Search bar on the top right. Why does the search default to Google Site instead of Forum??? Even as I'm attempting to refine my search, better to guess what terms users here might have used, each time I use it I'm need to specify "Forum." If the search were friendlier, I'm guessing that users would resort to it more often and reduce the chatter here. This just seems inefficient for a company that prides itself on "finding everything." I can't even easily find something in your own forums. Thanks, Lena
  25. Can you try to connect using a different network? Since August 30 my two Win 7 computers (desktop, wired; laptop, wireless) stopped syncing on my home network. The laptop will sync, however, if I connect it to my phone's hotspot. which is evidently a slower connection. Go figure. Interestingly, I can't even connect to the Evernote website via my home network internet connection anymore. I cannot access my account on evernote.com, nor submit a ticket. The rest of my internet connection seems to be fine except for a couple of other sites that are slower the usual, but the speed of my DSL is as usual. Haven't changed EN version, haven't modified firewall, restarted modem and router, can't figure it out. My activity log just reads, "81% Can't read from Internet, error: INTERNET_CONNECTION_RESET." Then it tries again, fails, and aborts sync. I'm getting a new modem tomorrow, after an hour spent with Verizon tech support today. Let's see if that works.
