  1. gazumped's post in JavaScript error occurred when i start Evernote was marked as the answer
I use Evernote on Win 11 without any issues.  Try uninstalling and reinstalling.  Full process here -
To fix occasional errors with installs or updates on laptops or desktops - plus issues with speed or lag
1 - Make sure your notes are synced up to date
2 - Exit Evernote (if you can) / delete data from device
3 - Uninstall app with Appcleaner (Mac) or Revo Uninstaller Free (Win)
4 - Power device off / allow 10 seconds / power back on
    5 - Download latest Evernote from Evernote.com
6 - Reinstall. It will take a little while for the app to be fully operational
    Additional Checks:
Verify Evernote's Hardware Acceleration is set to ON - go to Tools > Settings > Preferences > Application and scroll to the bottom. The "hardware acceleration disabled" box should be UNticked, but if you're having issues change that setting and restart the device. (Come back and change it again if that doesn't help!)
If you have any issues deleting Evernote data, see:  https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500004231762-Remove-Evernote-data-from-your-Mac-or-Windows-device
  2. gazumped's post in Latest version of evernote limits me to having 20 notes open at a time. Anyway to change this restriction? I saw there was a solution on Mac, but not Windows. was marked as the answer
Windows has the same file - C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Evernote\config.json
    ...with the same 20 limit.
Per @PinkElephant in the original thread,  I'd suggest if you get creative,  rename the original to .OLD and copy the content to a new one.
I have no need (yet) and no experience of changes here,  so proceed at your own risk!
Let us know how it goes please?

  4. gazumped's post in Disable Auto Formatting (bullets, etc) was marked as the answer
Hi - check out the feature request forums here - you can post your suggestion and see how many votes it attracts from other users... or use the feedback option in most apps.
  5. gazumped's post in Help I'm worried my Evernote account has been hacked? was marked as the answer
Hi.  This has happened to me (the reset,  not the hacking) so you should be safe.  You're seeing the message when connected to Evernote,  so it's most likely to be an official warning,  and they're offering to email you with a separate link - just make sure the link goes to some variation on https://www.evernote.com...
That email may go into your spam folder,  and it will be addressed to your account email address which is presumably your log-in address too.  If there's a problem you'll need to contact Support - we're mainly other users here.
  6. gazumped's post in Tag was marked as the answer
Hi.  Your last multiple posts say your trial period is over and you're now unable to log into your account at all.  Please don't post more than once on any subject.  If you're not a business you'd be far better off using Personal or Professional rather than teams.  You've been advised to contact Support and given a link to do that.  If you're still having issues please pick ONE of your posts and follow up on that thread with a full update of what device,  OS and version of Evernote you're now using.
  7. gazumped's post in Evernote is so sluggish I can't even use it right now! Is there a fix coming? was marked as the answer
You might benefit from a clean reinstall...
1 - Exit Evernote (if you can) / delete data from device
2 - Uninstall app with Appcleaner (Mac) or Revo Uninstaller Free (Win)
3 - Power device off / allow 10 seconds / power back on
    4 - Download latest Evernote from Evernote.com
5 - Reinstall. It will take a little while for the app to be fully operational
Also:  Verify Evernote's Hardware Acceleration is set to ON - go to Tools > Settings > Preferences > Application and scroll to the bottom. The "hardware acceleration disabled" box should be UNticked, but if you're having issues change that setting and restart the device. (Come back and change it again if that doesn't help!)

See the bottom of the link I posted for how to contact Evernote.  (We're mainly other users here.)
  9. gazumped's post in Can't downgrade from Personal to Free plan was marked as the answer
Scroll all the way down the page - check out the very bottom,  just above "Terms of Service".
  10. gazumped's post in v10.67.2 Lagging Weirdly was marked as the answer
Auto updates can go wrong,  so rather than step back you're probably better off to do a complete uninstall / clean reinstall to see whether that helps.
Sign out and tick "remove my data" Use Revo Uninstaller Free (Win) or Appcleaner (Mac) to remove Evernote and any related system files Power the device off and on again to clear temporary caches Re-download and reinstall the latest Evernote app from Evernote.com  - This all takes a little time - so allow an hour or so for everything to catch up.
  11. gazumped's post in Evernote 2024 Product Roadmap was marked as the answer
You wouldn't.  Nothing has been published since the new owners took over earlier this year - nothing was ever published before that either.  Since the new guys have been mainly fighting fires since they took over,  I'd think it will be next year before we get any hints...
  12. gazumped's post in Subscription without account was marked as the answer
Hi.  Evernote's only Support link is here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new.
If you have the user name and password from your original account you could download a new copy and log in directly to convert it to Basic,  but you'd still need to contact Support for a refund.  It may take a little while to get a response - 10-14 days - at this holiday time of year.
  13. gazumped's post in Separate individual plan for each family member was marked as the answer
Hi.  Each account is unique to one person.  There is a Teams account that allows multiple membership,  but it involves extra admin and a minimum subscription level that probably exceeds two memberships.  It is possible to operate with one Subscriber and one free account,  since the accounts can share notebooks and each notebook has limits related to the 'owner' account - so if the subscription account shares a notebook to the free account,  that notebook has the same limits as a subscriber even when used in the free account.
I hope that was understandable!  (It sounded better in my head...)
  14. gazumped's post in Can’t drag and drop notes in to the tags in the left pane to add tags was marked as the answer
If you select your chosen notes, don't you get a pop-up on screen?

You can move / tag / merge / print / export or bin from here - there are also 3-dot options...
  15. gazumped's post in Evernote Free accounts will have fifty notes and one notebook - does this also apply to the desktop app? was marked as the answer
    Hi.  Yes.
  16. gazumped's post in I can't open Evernote on my laptop was marked as the answer
No sweat - I moved you to the Windows forums.  Like I said - try the full 'clean' install:
1 - Exit Evernote (if you can) / delete data from device
2 - Uninstall app with Appcleaner (Mac) or Revo Uninstaller Free (Win)
3 - Power device off / allow 10 seconds / power back on
    4 - Download latest Evernote from Evernote.com
5 - Reinstall.  It will take a little while for the app to be fully operational
Check that Hardware Acceleration is set to ON (in Settings > Preferences > Application and scroll to the bottom.  The "hardware acceleration disabled" box should be UNticked,  but if you're having issues try changing that setting and restarting the device

  17. gazumped's post in Not able to see notes in "Shared with Me" section was marked as the answer
Hi.  Check your account in the web version.  If either of your accounts were set up recently it can take a few days for sharing to kick in.

  19. gazumped's post in Grrr. Update results in really. Slow. Evernote. Everything was marked as the answer
Yup.  Reported several times now.  Fixed - in some cases at least - with:
1 - Exit Evernote / delete data from device
2 - Uninstall app with Appcleaner (Mac) or Revo Uninstaller Free (Win)
3 - Power device off / allow 10 seconds / power back on
    4 - Download latest Evernote from Evernote.com
5 - Reinstall. It will take a little while for the app to be fully operational
  20. gazumped's post in Recurring Tasks was marked as the answer
Hmmn.  Just updated here,  so can't replicate;  I'd suggest you contact Support,  but expect a wait.  Meantime maybe proceed with caution and maybe try creating a new task if a repeat fails?
  21. gazumped's post in Buggy and slow on intel Mac was marked as the answer
There are a few threads here on this.  Current thinking is: try a clean (re-)install / contact Support and wait...
1 - Exit Evernote / delete database from device
2 - Uninstall app with Appcleaner (Mac) or Revo Uninstaller Free (Win)
3 - Power device off / allow 10 seconds / power back on
    4 - Download latest Evernote from Evernote.com
5 - Reinstall.  It will take a little while for the app to be fully operational
  22. gazumped's post in Link generator (creating a sharable url / "webpage version" to a note) not working in a stable way from Evernote Classic Destkop: was marked as the answer
Hi.  Possible,  yes - probably not advisable because Legacy notes are now in a different format than v10 notes.  Evernote is maintaining compatibility with a translation process between the two,  but you are always going to find it slow to open a note in one version that has recently been open in the other.  Switching from one to the other  other than on a session-by-session basis also might give rise to duplication and lost data because sync has to work with the conversion delay.  You could certainly try it out - carefully - and see whether your situation improves...
  23. gazumped's post in Evernote update shouldn't always uninstall Legacy was marked as the answer
...And just to add:  Legacy is not just at threat from Evernote moving on.  Operating systems and browsers are changing too,  and Evernote is highly unlikely to update anything that is not v10.
Suggest by all means - but it is most unlikely to happen.  @PinkElephant already suggested the closest alternative,  which is to export to HTML and use a browser to view your notes...
  24. gazumped's post in emails was marked as the answer
OK - there are other threads here about that.  v10 Clipper no longer has a specific 'gmail' option,  but there is a special Gmail Clipper which you can access via the Gmail 'Marletplace'*.  It remains possible to use the standard clipper options,  forward emails to your Evernote email address,  set up a rule to forward some mails automatically,  or BCC your own Evernote email address when replying to an incoming mail.
    * look for the '+' in the right Gmail menu bar.  In Marketplace,  search for Evernote & install.  This clipper can save an email or an entire conversation, and include or exclude attachments
