  1. gazumped's post in I can't move my old notes into one notebook and my account is unusable now was marked as the answer
Free users never had the ability to talk to Support.  This Forum is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful technical support groups I've ever been involved with and most normal queries can be resolved here - except for ones related to passwords and finance.  The fact that the company wants to be paid for its services is not something that should come as a terrible surprise.  Consolidating notebooks - especially if you have less than 20 notes - is easy;  all you need do is export notes from your unwanted notebooks to ENEX files;  then delete the notebooks and import those file into your remaining notebook.
If you prefer to go to Notion,  please feel free (no pun intended...) I'll leave the solution here for someone who's willing to ask a civil question rather than leave a rant.
  2. gazumped's post in Being Charged to CC But Have Never Used Evernote. Created Account to Verify was marked as the answer
Hi.  You'd need to contact Evernote Support to resolve this (the Forums here are mainly user-driven).  Obviously the credit card details had to come from somewhere and Evernote have no way to create a ghost subscription...  use https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?guest=true (which does not require a login) and the issue type "Account".
  3. gazumped's post in How to make a notebook public? was marked as the answer
Hi.  You will be able to share a notebook by email,  or by using Postach.io which turns notes from one notebook into a public 'blog' style website,  or (with some technical fiddling) by exporting it to HTML and emailing the files to a friend.  Public notebooks however no longer exist within Evernote.
  4. gazumped's post in Paid services - alternative income was marked as the answer
Hi.  We're mainly other users here,  but Evernote staff also read these pages,  so will see your suggestions - though I have to say that in my experience most users are very concerned with privacy for their accounts and there would be a mass outcry if there were any suggestion at selling data,  anonymised or not.
Evernote already offers an 'AI Cleanup' feature and I regularly use it and the existing public AI services to summarise content in "100 words or less" style.
As a free user you should be able to get a substantial discount for one further year's subscription which will allow you to tidy up your existing content and move it elsewhere if you decide to do so,
If you need any help exporting your existing content to another provider please let us know - we're happy to help.
  5. gazumped's post in Unable to access Evernote iphone app was marked as the answer
    Hi.  Try this
Check DIsplay and Brightness settings. Is the last toggle set for Larger Text? Change it (temporarily) to default, to decrease the font and icon sizes The CONTINUE button should no longer be hidden Toggle back to Larger text
  6. gazumped's post in How to take all my notes with me as I leave? was marked as the answer
Hi.  Use your desktop access.  When you try to login you are probably getting warnings that you have too many devices attached to your account.  Follow the instructions carefully to remove everything except that desktop access.  When you can log in,  go to the notebooks tab and click on the three dots menu on the extreme right of the window.  You'll be able to export that notebook to ENEX or HTML format.
If that doesn't work you could consider subscribing for a brief period - even if only a month - to regain full access.
  7. gazumped's post in Evernote End of Year Blog 2023 was marked as the answer
Weatherwise we're good (so far!) - didn't realise you were so close:  I'm in Newport,  just across the river.  As you say - windy, wet and miserable.  No very high winds yet...
As far as the software changes are concerned (and yes,  I was drawing a parallel there) - I would respectfully disagree that Evernote needs to apologise for their Support overload;  they're only human.  While it would have been good to anticipate the extra contacts and staff up in advance,  I suspect they didn't foresee all the upgrades they were required to make to an allegedly operational system.
Regardless,  what's done is done and they'll make their own decisions as to the next step(s).
Beyond adding to the QoL points I don't think there's much benefit to jumping up and down and shouting for different new or improved features.  Evernote took on (though they clearly didn't quite appreciate it) an enormous job to get the app back on track in terms of operations and usability.  They already have a new UI in development and no doubt that will cause some reactions from users - I'm fully expecting a 'Save v10! - it was much better this new 11!!' movement soon...
Basically I'm still in 'wait and see' mode.  The v10 app works well enough for me in Win 10/11 and Android,  and I'm keen to see what else is going to be released in '24.
Things should only get better from here....
  8. gazumped's post in Clipping Linkedin Profile was marked as the answer
It's not a bookmark tool.  Clipper will give you (more or less) any part of any web page as a permanent record in your data.  In the case of LinkedIn it starts with the profile picture and link.  By using the other options you can add whatever other information you might need from the profile page.
  9. gazumped's post in Edit date on notes is wrong was marked as the answer
Hi.  This was supposedly fixed in the latest update.  Try downloading a new version from Evernote.com to update.
  10. gazumped's post in Note Limit - Technical Query was marked as the answer
Hi.  Have you emptied the Trash notebook?  Now many notebooks do you have?
  11. gazumped's post in Nao consigo criar novas notas was marked as the answer
The limits are 50 notes and one notebook.  It looks like you have two notebooks for programming and work?  If you delete one,  you should be able to create new notes.
  12. gazumped's post in Change Subscription Back to Personal was marked as the answer
Hi.  To get back to personal now,  rather than at your next subscription renewal,  you need to contact Support - we're mainly other users here...
  13. gazumped's post in Win 11 Evernote 10.68.3 was marked as the answer
Hi. I'm using Evernote on both a Win 10 laptop and an 11 desktop and don't have any problems Alt+tabbing between windows.  There is a new Evernote 10.70.2 version you could download from the website,  but I'd suggest you look this up as a Windows glitch.
  14. gazumped's post in How do I export notes to eg. html or pdf? was marked as the answer
Hi.  You can print from the web to PDF.  You can export from the desktop clients.
  15. gazumped's post in Importing template error: "Sorry, something went wrong" was marked as the answer
Hmmn.  Seems like the template page is broken.  I tried another template which worked.  This one does not.  You could contact Support to get it fixed..

  17. gazumped's post in NEED HELP :- Request for Subscription Cancellation, Downgrade, and Refund was marked as the answer
Hi.  You will get a response to your ticket within the next couple of weeks by email.  (They have been overwhelmed lately.)
Support will ask for more information if they need it.  You can find comments here from users who received refunds,  so they do happen.
  18. gazumped's post in Year’s Callendar for 2024 was marked as the answer
Hi.  I don't know whether Evernote plans any calendar templates,  but there may be some you can search for online like this one...   https://tamingthetrunk.substack.com/p/evernote-2024-calendar-template-new
  19. gazumped's post in JavaScript error occurred when i start Evernote was marked as the answer
I use Evernote on Win 11 without any issues.  Try uninstalling and reinstalling.  Full process here -
To fix occasional errors with installs or updates on laptops or desktops - plus issues with speed or lag
1 - Make sure your notes are synced up to date
2 - Exit Evernote (if you can) / delete data from device
3 - Uninstall app with Appcleaner (Mac) or Revo Uninstaller Free (Win)
4 - Power device off / allow 10 seconds / power back on
    5 - Download latest Evernote from Evernote.com
6 - Reinstall. It will take a little while for the app to be fully operational
    Additional Checks:
Verify Evernote's Hardware Acceleration is set to ON - go to Tools > Settings > Preferences > Application and scroll to the bottom. The "hardware acceleration disabled" box should be UNticked, but if you're having issues change that setting and restart the device. (Come back and change it again if that doesn't help!)
If you have any issues deleting Evernote data, see:  https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500004231762-Remove-Evernote-data-from-your-Mac-or-Windows-device
  20. gazumped's post in Latest version of evernote limits me to having 20 notes open at a time. Anyway to change this restriction? I saw there was a solution on Mac, but not Windows. was marked as the answer
Windows has the same file - C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Evernote\config.json
    ...with the same 20 limit.
Per @PinkElephant in the original thread,  I'd suggest if you get creative,  rename the original to .OLD and copy the content to a new one.
I have no need (yet) and no experience of changes here,  so proceed at your own risk!
Let us know how it goes please?
  21. gazumped's post in The new price for personal use makes me say goodbye. was marked as the answer
    Bye.
  22. gazumped's post in Disable Auto Formatting (bullets, etc) was marked as the answer
Hi - check out the feature request forums here - you can post your suggestion and see how many votes it attracts from other users... or use the feedback option in most apps.
  23. gazumped's post in Help I'm worried my Evernote account has been hacked? was marked as the answer
Hi.  This has happened to me (the reset,  not the hacking) so you should be safe.  You're seeing the message when connected to Evernote,  so it's most likely to be an official warning,  and they're offering to email you with a separate link - just make sure the link goes to some variation on https://www.evernote.com...
That email may go into your spam folder,  and it will be addressed to your account email address which is presumably your log-in address too.  If there's a problem you'll need to contact Support - we're mainly other users here.
  24. gazumped's post in Tag was marked as the answer
Hi.  Your last multiple posts say your trial period is over and you're now unable to log into your account at all.  Please don't post more than once on any subject.  If you're not a business you'd be far better off using Personal or Professional rather than teams.  You've been advised to contact Support and given a link to do that.  If you're still having issues please pick ONE of your posts and follow up on that thread with a full update of what device,  OS and version of Evernote you're now using.
  25. gazumped's post in Evernote is so sluggish I can't even use it right now! Is there a fix coming? was marked as the answer
You might benefit from a clean reinstall...
1 - Exit Evernote (if you can) / delete data from device
2 - Uninstall app with Appcleaner (Mac) or Revo Uninstaller Free (Win)
3 - Power device off / allow 10 seconds / power back on
    4 - Download latest Evernote from Evernote.com
5 - Reinstall. It will take a little while for the app to be fully operational
Also:  Verify Evernote's Hardware Acceleration is set to ON - go to Tools > Settings > Preferences > Application and scroll to the bottom. The "hardware acceleration disabled" box should be UNticked, but if you're having issues change that setting and restart the device. (Come back and change it again if that doesn't help!)
