Evernote for Mac 6.11 Beta 4 Released
lonewolf replied to Chantal Leonard's question in Evernote for Mac Requests (Versions 7.14 and under)
@Jason Miller The classic note link is such a useful option. Why isn't there a keyboard shortcut for it? I almost always want to use classic link (evernote://...) instead of the http link. -
If it's adequate for your use-case, that's fine — for you. For me, and judging by the forums, for a lot of other people, it is not adequate. I don't want to have to use another app to compose or edit a "serious", well constructed note and then have to copy and paste it back into Evernote. This should be possible in Evernote itself — it is a note-taking app after all.

For a note-taking app, the editor is the probably the weakest part of Evernote and has been for a long time, across all platforms. Hell, even the editor on these forums is better than the one in the app. Yes, they have been working on the "common editor" for years but we are yet to see the fruits of their labour. By the time they actually release it, their editor will be lagging behind most modern editors again and we will be in the same situation that we are currently in. To be frank, we as customers shouldn't have to care with how complex it is to develop a better editor for Everno

Evernote for Mac 6.11 Beta 2 Released
lonewolf replied to Chantal Leonard's question in Evernote for Mac Requests (Versions 7.14 and under)
I am also still on 6.9.2 and I've not upgraded further because of various bugs. It's a sad state of affairs when I have lost so much confidence in EN's ability to release a stable version that I am afraid of actually upgrading. What's even more disheartening is that a lot of these bugs are previously fixed bugs and very basic things like cut and paste and general navigation and text selection errors. Surely even the most basic of internal testing would highlight these issues and regression testing would highlight errors with previously fixed bugs. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to -

While I don't agree with @stafmans tone, I do agree with his sentiment. This is a beta thread for a beta version of the application. If anything, they should be providing a more extensive list of bug fixes and changes instead of a selective list than on a GA announcement thread. This would allow the beta testers to actually test these fixes and changes instead of incidentally coming across them during general use. It would also allow them to test if any of these changes indirectly affect other areas of the application. This would help in preventing the terrible regression bugs that EN alw -
Evernote for Mac 6.11 Beta 2 Released

@Chantal Leonard I think what we're asking for is a list with a description of the fixes included in the release, similar to what your predecessor @Software Marcus used to do. I usually check this list before downloading an update to see if there are any unwanted new features, fixes for bugs that affect me, or any changes that would break my workflow. The detailed list of fixes used to really help in this regard. If I wanted the summary of changes, I would go read the post on the blog. -
Evernote for Mac 6.11 Beta 2 Released

@Chantal Leonard Hey Chantal, I haven't yet tried this beta but could you please answer the following question for me. If a user, one who does not frequent these forums, tries to create a local notebook, is there any indication in the application itself about how to do this? Would the user even know that creating a local notebook is possible with this update? If this option to create a local notebook is discoverable in the application itself, then I think this change is fine. If not, there should be a way to find out how, without having to visit the forums or google for an answer. -
Hi, With respect to clipping on via the IOS share sheet, I would like the option to just clip the title and URL of a webpage, instead of the whole page. I'm trying to accomplish something similar to the "bookmark" option available on the EN web clipper. Additionally, if it would be possible to also have the option of selecting a snippet of text from the page to be included in the clip, that would be a most welcome bonus. I use EN for my bookmarks so this is something that would be very useful for me, clipping just the title and URL instead of the whole page. Hopefully,
