    Because they don't want the truth to be known. Never have, never will.

    Many people have been killed for speaking the truth.

    My point is, I didn't delete the notes. 

    We'll see if this latest update fixes the issue.

    I just found out that it also hasn't been telling me when there's an update. I was behind several versions & didn't know it.  WOW.

  2. I didn't say there was coding needed for rebuilding the index.

    And no, I don't think it's easy to delete a note. You have to press the delete key or right click on the note.

    Anyway, no need to respond back. You are clearly bent on blaming me for something I never did.

    This is not to you, but to everyone else.

    I did NOT do anything to delete my own notes. I made this very clear over & over again, so I hope anyone else who's having the same issues understands this.

    Anyone can hack into your computer & I'm a truther, so I'm at huge risk. No one is immune to hacking.

    I don't reuse p/ws. I use Last Pass so every p/w is unique.

    I just looked at devices & it all "appears" to be normal.

    I'll wait until my website coder is around to try & recreate the search index. 

    I HOPE that's the issue b/c one missing note, ok, maybe it's me, but 3? Nope, that's impossible. I don't delete notes for no reason. I rarely delete them & they only get deleted if I started one & didn't type something in them & needed to delete it b/c it was empty. In fact I have 6 deleted empty notes in my trash.

    My trash has barely anything in it. 94 notes over the course of years.

    So I just went to look what's in my trash & I found almost a duplicate of a note I already had that's in a notebook AND found another note that I never would have deleted & even though it's in the trash area, at the top when you look at what notebook it's attached to it says "Health," not trash.

    And that's just 2 notes I investigated. I didn't go thru the rest.

    Something serious is breaking with EN.

    I never would have deleted that note, & I had no reason to create a duplicate note & trash one of them.

    Yes, as I stated in my original comment, I did a search, but I had also scrolled through one of the notebooks high & low & couldn't find 2 of the notes.

    I think I know which notebook the 3rd note was in, but again, it's not there.

    Interestingly when I just started a deep search on my computer, it found one of the kws in C/Users/MyName/Evernote/Databases

    I've been having issues with Evernote for several months & have complained about it over & over again that I'll be in the middle of typing up a note & POOF, it disappears & I get a blank white screen & have to click on it on the left side.

    This happens also if I leave the note & come back to it.

    I'll bet you that bug is deleting notes. sigh



  5. The notes were there when I wrote them. Why would I have to sync to the server to see the notes that were on my desktop when I wrote them & they are old notes.

    One from around 2 years ago, another from at least 6-8 months ago.

    And I'm sure I've synced since then or the system has synced since then since I had issues with Evernote syncing before to my mobile.

    Makes no sense what you are saying. I wrote them on my Desktop, not on the web version.

    Unless I'm missing something on how Evernote works.

    If I wrote it on the desktop it should be on the desktop UNLESS Evernote deletes notes when it syncs..


  6. I use the desktop version.

    This is happening to me & at first I thought it was just me. It started around 2-3 months ago.

    I take copious notes when I watch certain videos & I thought maybe I never took notes on a specific video.

    Well now another note has gone missing & the link to the video too. Just terrible & that one I think I did a year ago.

    Now another note (very small one) has gone missing with the times of the video that the lecturer said something specific.

    And yes I searched in the online version b/c I don't know which notebooks they are in so all I can do is search by kw & nothing. Same with the Trash. I don't see anything in there & search came up with nothing.

    Very upset now.

    Evernote displays a device list in your user settings.  Use this list to revoke access to inactive devices
    Make sure you sync your data before dropping a device.

    With  your data sync'd to the server (no local notebooks); you're already backed up.
    When you login on the new device, a copy of your data will be downloaded.

    You may have accidentally dragged one over the other which automatically created a stack. Right click on the notebook and choose remove from stack to return it to the main list and then assuming the stack is empty and does not automatically vanish you can right click on the stack to delete.

    Just make sure the stack is empty before you delete it in case it delete the notebook as well.

  9. Yeh I also upgraded to version & thought it would fix these issues, but it HASN'T & their response to me was to go all the way back to the version where it was working & DL that.

    BUT, I happen to live the new feature where it shows you ALL the notes where that kw is even if it's not the notebook you are in. Why should I have to lose that feature to go back to such an old version just to get the bloody software to work :(

    Why can't they just fix it?

    Did you guys submit a ticket by first contacting them on Twitter?

    Because if I'm the only one complaining, they aren't going to fix it.

    I agree, although so far I'm, only noticing it on new notes.

    The highlighting & copying seems to be fixed (I hope). It used to remove the highlight when I clicked on the Ctrl button.

    Are you talking about the desktop version?

    If yes, I just happened to check to see if there was an update (I don't know why it doesn't tell us there's an update when it's open & you are working on it) & there was. I think that issue is fixed now.

    I had e-mailed with them for a few days trying to give them videos of what was happening , but kept forgetting to or I already clicked in several times & so then a video wouldn't have proved anything.

    I just got home, so I still have to use the new version to see if it's completely working.

    Let us know once you upgrade.

    LOL, sorry, I thought I was checking for "updates", not upgrades. I didn't read it clearly.

    I was hoping the update would clear the issue so I don't have to uninstall & reinstall, but there are no updates.

    Before I relay my issue, I don't see a way to log into my account & see all my previous posts. Is that not a feature here, or am I just missing it?

    Onto the bug at hand :(

    This is for the Windows application -

    If I paste a link into a note, then start typing after the link (with a space after it) or even on the next line or several lines below it, it drags the link into my text & there is NO WAY to get rid of it.

    Clicking Ctrl U doesn't help at all. :(

    I've just tweeted them this issue. I have had this issue for a while now even in the previous version.

    Happy New Year!

    So I'm not happy right now.

    All was fine with the Windows desktop version UNTIL I upgraded.


    1. When I go to copy text, it's like the issue I had on the web version where you have to copy the word/text twice b/c it doesn't take the first time. Now I have to do it like 3 times.
    2. The software also hung & wouldn't load properly, so I restarted it & it looks like one of the entries on my computer no longer exists. Well I certainly didn't delete it. I finally got it running again <sigh>
    3. When I click on a line where there's text & start typing, it doesn't even know my cursor was there & I go flying all over the place. I have to click into the note several times to make sure Evernote knows I'm really there.

    REALLY NOT HAPPY. I was soo thrilled when I figured out that the windows version was way better than the web version & now these issues are the same issues I had on the web version & even MORE!!

  15. @ejmichel - I agree with you. Too many companies CHANGE their software & it's worse once they change it & it's not like they include NEW amazing features.

    Even their desktop version has issues where it doesn't launch on restart. I finally had to resort to putting it into my startup tab which one should NEVER have to do if the software was built properly.

    I would tweet them first, but if you are a paid subscriber, they should be getting back to you. Their support has never been good from what I experienced & from what I've read online.

    I'm not a paid member, but they did respond back to my tweet & then passed me on to support.

    I can't remember the reason I didn't like the new version, as it's been several months since I tried it out & then I freaked out b/c I didn't think I could back to the old version, but someone on here helped me.

    I still recommend the desktop version, but I understand that if you are on the road, you need the web version.

    I am not a fan of MS, so I try never to use their products except we are almost all forced to use Word & Excel.

    Let us know how it goes.
