  1. I wouldn't be so quick to defend the Evernote team when they certainly won't come rushing to help you in your time of need. The initial post was posted LONG BEFORE the weekend (48 hours before the weekend) -- and my "premium customer" emails to tech support have gone unanswered for almost a week as well. Plus, I've been searching for a year for an alternative product and haven't found one. Just because Evernote is the best of what's out there doesn't mean that Evernote is a great product. It's just means that it's the best out of a long list of crappy products.
  2. Totally agree 100%! Case in point: Nobody from the Evernote team is even reading this thread! Sooner or later, someone will come out with a cloud-based note program that actually works, and everybody will flee from Evernote. In the meantime, the best we can do is give 1-star ratings to Evernote on the App Store.
  3. Crazy. I have always hoped that the Evernote developers would someday pay attention to important details, but after 3 years of waiting for them to pay attention to important details, I can see that I've bet my money on the wrong horse. The Evernote team is never going to change their sloppy ways.
  4. Your new Evernote 4.1.0 app for iPhone has tons of bugs in it. Here's just one example: Type up a long note in Evernote 3.0.1 for Mac, and separate each paragraph with 2 carriage returns (to put visual spaces between the paragraphs). Then, sync that note to your iPhone. Try to edit that note on your iPhone, and Evernote COMPLETELY REMOVES ALL THE CARRIAGE RETURNS THAT YOU SPENT TIME TYPING ON YOUR MAC. So Evernote for iPhone will COMPLETELY DESTROY THE ENTIRE NOTE THAT YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY TYPED ON YOUR MAC. This app is a complete disaster.
  5. That would be great if you wanted to open a support case on this issue! Thanks!
  6. Doesn't work for me. How are you doing this, and what version of Evernote are you using?
  7. Hi there, There is a problem with searching notes in Evernote. Unlike every other Mac application, Evernote does NOT let us search for PHRASES. Typically on the Mac, you can search for a PHRASE by putting the phrase in "quotation marks". But Evernote doesn't support this. So, for example, if I tell Evernote to search for the phrase "green light" (by putting it in quotation marks), Evernote will find EVERY SINGLE INSTANCE of the word "green" and EVERY SINGLE INSTANCE of the word "light". Evernote shouldn't be doing that... Evernote should respect that I typed the phrase in quotation marks, and it should ONLY return the results that match the actual phrase "green light". This is how all other Mac applications work, including Apple Mail, iTunes, Spotlight, Address Book, etc. etc. etc. Can you please fix Evernote to support this? Thanks, Scott
  8. Yep, my own note. Just text that I've typed up. I've even highlighted all of the text in the note and selected "Format>Simplify Formatting". Same problem. I can attach screenshots, if you'd like to see!
  9. Dragging and dropping yields the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! I have a beautifully spaced note, and as soon as I drag-and-drop it out of there, the entire note is completely squished together. All blank lines are removed, and every single sentence runs into each other. Not even a space in between the paragraphs.
  10. Evernote for Mac is absolutely ridiculous, because it does NOT copy-and-paste properly when you try to copy a note out of Evernote and paste it into another document!! How do you expect us to get any work done?? I have a note that looks just fine in Evernote -- lots of paragraphs of text with spaces in between all of the paragraphs (i.e. 2 carriage returns after every paragraph). BUT when I "select all" of the note in Evernote, and then I paste it into a program like TextEdit or Microsoft Word or Apple Mail or BBEdit or any other program, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE! Sometimes the paragraphs are all squished together and truncated together, because there is now only 1 carriage return in between all of the paragraphs. Sometimes it's EVEN WORSE THAN THAT, and there are ZERO (0) carriage returns between all of the paragraphs, so a new paragraph immediately begins DIRECTLY AFTER THE PERIOD of the previous paragraph. The entire note looks like one gigantic run-on sentence that goes on for pages! But no matter what, the text is NEVER pasted into another program how it was copied from Evernote. There is NEVER any fidelity at all between the Evernote note and the text that is copied from the Evernote note. I don't understand how you can treat Mac users like this? We can't even do the most BASIC of tasks with Evernote Mac, which is simply "copy and paste".

  12. Yes!! I've seen the exact same behavior when pasting in text from other programs. Evernote is the ONLY program on my entire Mac (and I have almost 100 apps in my Applications folder) that acts in this crazy manner! It's really enough to get someone to pull out their hair -- and switch to another product instead. :-x
  13. Thanks everybody for your help... this is freaking weird, but now it's working just fine when I put quotes around the search phrase. It must be a bug in Evernote, because it started working again as soon as I quit and relaunched Evernote.
  14. Thanks so much. Yeah, I may have been premature in my praise of Evernote for Mac. The SYNCING is still fantastic and very reliable, but everything else (on the Mac side) is a big thumbs down.
