  1. Just saw this. Best moments in my life: 1) birth of my kid, 2) hearing Top View is coming back.
  2. Yup - same issue. This battle was fought when they first came out with Evernote 7. Love the innovation, love the highlighter colors - just need Top View back!
  3. What??? I see violet, but no indigo? Evernote team - GET IT TOGETHER ALREADY.
  4. I hear you. I have been requesting a feature for 7 years - the ability to clear the date on a reminder - which seems simple (to me), but probably won't be prioritized vs. the re-platforming they are doing.
  5. I was having this same problem (and posted about it here). Just discovered others are having the same frustration - I feel validation of my daily struggle! Sounds like from DTLow's earlier post this is a regression introduced in v7.6 of Evernote for Mac. Hoping bumping this up may get this fixed in an upcoming version!
  6. It’s there. Go to the new Evernote Web (in beta) and you can choose highlighter colors. I believe this will come to the desktop apps at the next update, but the next update of desktop apps seems to be taking longer than usual. But at least the web version proves the feature exists now.
  7. Time for me to start a new "There are too many highlighter color choices, and it is confusing. Please limit highlighter colors to just yellow or I will abandon Evernote." thread!
  8. This has been fixed with 7.6 via the new "Notes vs. Reminders" toolbar. Although related to that update, see my feature request
  9. @DTLow - did you ever solve the "Invisible Notes" issue? I haven't seen a fix come through (and when I wrote Support months ago, they said engineering was aware of the problem and working on a fix). Am I supposed to rebuild my search index? I don't think that is the cause (as clicking around in the UX and then going back to my saved search eventually shows the note results) - but willing to try anything.
  10. Updated to 7.5.2 - not fixed :( Is anyone else still experiencing this issue, or is it just me?
  11. Sigh. Upgraded just now to 7.5 and still an issue. Anytime I go to a saved search that has zero results - clicking on another saved search with non-zero results shows the blank notes list. Any update from the Evernote team? Pretty please?
  12. While I get the frustration that this feature hasn't been built yet, we now have an Evernote employee actively engaged on this topic. Let's take advantage of that vs. venting frustration. Rebranding by the way involves a totally different team than the product/engineering teams, plus keep in mind there are likely hundreds of threads just like this one with people passionately making the case for their particular feature. So again - I understand your frustration, but let's instead overwhelm the Evernote team with evidence on why this feature should be a priority.
  13. Colors are needed to take advantage of the Eisenhower Matrix (a very popular time management tool).
  14. Sigh. Upgraded just now to 7.2.3 with anticipation this issue is fixed - nope, still there. I'm a big Evernote champion, but this nasty bug that has been around for months without a fix is starting to wear on me The blank notes problem seems to happen when I click on a saved search that returns zero results. If I then click on another saved search that should show results, it often is blank. Only upon clicking around in other saved searches and back again can I get the blank notes to show again.
  15. I just upgraded to 7.2 (hoping the invisible note list issue would be gone). Unfortunately, it still shows up for me (see screenshot). Was reeeeeeaaaaalllllyyyyyy hoping this would be fixed in this release.
  16. You need to build support for different color highlighters - because it's YOUR fault that I want them now. I read your recent blog post about the Eisenhower Matrix - where you recommend using different colors to highlight tasks that are urgent & important, vs. important & not urgent, etc. You convinced me! And now I find out I can't highlight my task list using the colors you suggest. Don't tease me, bro.
  17. Almost a year later - and I am still here. Going to keep lobbying for this change. Can we do it? YES WE CAN! To summarize the paint point to fix here: You can take a reminder from your list and add a date. Imagine a reminder is your "To Do" item, and you just picked a date to complete the item. Now you decide you want to remove the reminder date. For the "To Do" list analogy, this is equivalent to deciding you changed your mind and haven't decided when to tackle that to-do item. To do this today - you must: Clear the reminder completely (i.e. convert it from a reminder into an ordinary note) Then mark the note as a reminder again. At this point, the note is a reminder without a date. My proposal is to allow the reminder date to be cleared/unset more easily. For example:
  18. I haven't gone away, just FYI. Still stalking checking in. Just wishing, hoping, and waiting for the ability to clear the date on a reminder without having to convert the reminder back to a note, then back to a reminder again. Maybe a "Clear Date" button?
  19. Ok, Jackolicious - I've got another reason why you should implement my feature request: I just attended your SXSW Evernote User Appreciation party, dressed up in Evernote colors, and one of your engineers promised to implement my feature requests. Ok, ok, I lied. The engineer I met worked on Skitch and only promised to put in a good word for me. The rest is true (including the green sweater I wore). I am upset though because I was unable to pin the Evernote logo on the elephant's tail, and only won a sticker vs. a t-shirt. Also - I decided to turn the original forum post into a blog post (I'm a Product Manager as well, so I see these motivational phrases / thinly veiled threats all the time). This is in no way an attempt to drive traffic to my personal blog. 10 Popular Ways to Get Your Feature Requests Implemented Cheers, xmasmoneky
  20. Excited to see this finally ready for release - thanks for the hard work Evernote team! (P.S. This is a new tactic. Pretend my feature request is done to create feelings of guilt/obligation to live up to expectations. I think this time I've finally nailed it.)
  21. The lack of #1 (no way to remove a due date on a reminder without turning the reminder off and back on for a note) is becoming a real pain now that I use Evernote daily to manage my task list. Any good news to share? All my standard motivational phrases / thinly veiled threats stand. I can imagine under the "Change Date" context menu, you add "Remove Date" or "Clear Date" after the "In a Week" button). Heck - if you implement #1, you have my permission to skip request #2!
  22. Two quick feature requests: Have a "Remove Date" button or option for reminders - vs. removing the reminder all together, then retagging the note as a reminder Add a "Today" button to the "Add Date to Reminder" menu option (right now, I just see "Tomorrow" and "In a week") And here are the standard motivational phrases / thinly veiled threats to get your PMs to make this a priority (choose your favorite!): I am a free user, and if I just had these features I'd totally become a premium member. I'm currently a Premium member, but the lack of these simple features is astounding. If these aren't built I am totally leaving Evernote forever. These features should be easy, based on my obvious visibility into your code and roadmap. I could churn it out in 5.4 nanoseconds myself. I know your team works hard and has a lot of requests. You guys are doing a great job! And I hope you can get to my features. And I hope if I empathize with you, you'll feel a sudden obligation to keep me happy. If you build these for me, I'll totally be your biggest fan ever and tell my friends/family/strangers about Evernote (note: adult version of "If you do this I'll be your best friend!"). I would totally pay more for these features if that shows you how valuable and a priority these features should be (so long as any pay increase is purely hypothetical). I will try to be funny and appear like I'm not trying to motivate you / make thinly veiled threats, in the real hope that - er, never mind on this one. Cheers, xmasmoneky (sic)
