I had this same issue. What I did to make it work was: DO NOT uninstall Evernote Windows version. Sign out of Windows app. When signing out, you will be prompted to either 'Keep a Backup' or "Remove my Evernote data from this device". I chose the latter. Reinstall Evernote from Website. Sign in. Voila!
