About atomtenger

  1. I'm quite often writing my translations from one language to the other by pasting the source text into a note and overwriting it with the translated version. My OSX is English and when I type my other language text in Evernote the words get automatically corrected into words in English what doesn't really help when I'm translating from English into another language. It is really not helping when my more or less correct spelling is ruined by a foreign language spellchecking that cannot be turned off or set to the proper language. I don't know if there is a setting I don't find or it is a feature request but it would be great to be able to set what language a note uses - thus use correction suggestions for that language. Or at least to be able to turn off spellig correction for that post not to mess up with my work.
  2. I second both requests. In iOS version there is an option to add strikethrough formatting to a text - I don't understand why there is none in the desktop version - this seems quite inconsistent UI editing - not to mention iOS should have more restrictions (if any needed by development) not the more complex OSX version.
  3. I way too often run into this error: I select a text in Evernote with another text previously copied to the clipboard but instead of overwriting the selection what I would expect to be done, Evernote often just deletes the selection but the content from the clipboard gets inserted at the end of the current paragraph instead of pasting it in place of the selection. I hope this error is reproducible and developers find a way to correct it - can be really anoying problem when one tries to work.
  4. I'm using Evernote on a MacBook that has a built in Multi Touch trackpad and I use a Magic Trackpad with my desktop too. I think it would be a clever idea (and I hope an easily implementable one too) to allow the tag list in the top row to be scroleld with the trackpad scroll feature when the mouse cursor is over the tag line. Maybe considering a two line tag row is also an option as for me usually 3 or 4 tags appear if I don't have Evernote on full screen what I rarely do as I prefer to see other things happening in the background in different windows - like downloads, mails, etc.
  5. It's great to know, thanks for the info But simply using Tab and Shift+Tab to move back and forward between fields (tags, title, body) would be more natural as it works the same way in all applications - and it worked in previous versions too. Not to mention for ' one has to use a shortcut already on a localized keyboard that makes it more complicated - way more complicated than using tabs.
  6. I just wanted to make this suggestion myself. I'm happy there is an open feature request for this. However I just found out that this feature exists in Win version of Evernote. Hopefully it will be easier to implement it for the Mac version this way.
  7. I also miss a note count after the tags (and notebooks/stacks) list in the left part.
  8. This sounds to be a good idea, but adding a button to set/change location of a note and one for removing location would be also a good idea. These buttons could be also added to the (not yet - but hopefully soon) customizable toolbar.
  9. I don't know Reeder (but I'm looking for a good RSS reader so I will check it out). I use Google Reader at the moment and I've set up an IFTTT receipt to automatically send all starred (favorited) feed items to the specified Evernote notebook. It works great from the Google Reader website and from the iOS FeeddlerRSS app that uses my GoogleReader feeds as source. This is a quite good workaround that might help you too.
  10. Cmd+V seems a simple paste to me. It definietly keeps formatting of the text copied to the clipboard.
  11. What I really miss from Evernote 5 (related to tagging) is the option to be able to quickly navigate from title/text body to tags and back from the keyboard only without using the mouse - that is how a text oriented application is used mainly. In the old version I was used to first type the title then hit tab add the tags and after another tab you get to the text body where you start typing your note. Now I'm unable to enter my tags from the keyboard I have to reach for the mouse that slows down the whole process.
  12. I would also like To have. Paste without formatting option maybe a button on the toolbar) in all platforms.
  13. The web interface has a remove formatting button in the toolbar of edit note. But nor the Desktop aplication (MAC) nor the iPhone app does have it. It would be good to have an option to be able to remove the formatting after the note has been made. I usually never paste anything to a new note but use the Clip to Evernote link in the browser or the browser tool in the toolbar. My bigger problem with formatted texts is that on the iPhone app only non-formatted notes can't be edited. So please add a Remove formatting button or option to the desktop and the iPhone app.
