  1. Hi, I've always wondered why the numbered list function in the app doesn't seem to allow for sub-notes/sub-tasks? I've never seen a list that uses a 1. for the subtask as well.

    1. Here is an example
      1. subtask

Apparently this text editor does it the same as evernote. What I would expect from a numbered list would be that subtasks would be noted by something different than just reusing the original number or bullet.

If I'm not describing it right, I've attached two screenshots from Word, which is how I've always seen tasks/subtasks done.

    Am I not understanding?

Yup.  Gmail's filtering system is not human-friendly.  You can't easily choose between more than about 3 filters because they're hugely long addresses.  I just grabbed my Evernote account email address an set up several filters (triggered by various addresses and titles) to send them all to my Evernote Default folder.

It's not easily possible in Gmail to add to the forwarded emails titles as they're sent,  so I rely on Filterize to apply more or less the same tests to the incoming emails and tag / assign / action the notes appropriately.

I use the paid version.  Not sure how far you'd get with the free version.  No harm in starting off with the free version and upgrading if you like it and/ or need to.

I do recommend you look into and consider subscribing to get access to 'parameterisation' where you create one filter which basically says "if the note contains <this> then do <that>".  You also set up a note with <this> & <that> columns.  When you connect the filter to the note,  Filterize will scan down your columns and find any syncing note that contains one of the <this> column entries,  and take the action in the matching <that> column.*  I'm up to about 30 rows in one table so far.  (You can add more columns for more 'do that' steps too)

To give you some idea of volumes,  according to Filterize they completed 7,947 actions for me in the past 28 days,  saving 6+ hours work.

    * I may not have explained that too well...  see https://filterize.net/doc/parameterization-via-notes/ for something more coherent!

    Thanks!!

I have to point out that was a whole year ago and I no longer use TickTick.  No fault of theirs,  just that it was another system to check,  and the calendar didn't suit my purposes.  (There was no World Domination section! :D)

I'm now down to Evernote and Filterize,  plus Gmail and Google Calendar as one integrated system.  Gmail sends selected emails direct to my Evernote default notebook.  Filterize sorts them* into various category notebooks and automatically updates Table of Contents notes that list new information I should look at now, soon and whenever I have the time.  Workflowy also gets a look-in for list management and various look-ups like Twitter tag strings.  Oh - and Postach.io runs my blog...

I manually add some of that to Google Calendar with links back to Evernote for more information.

It sounds complicated but works perfectly for me - though it would have crashed to an abrupt halt had I updated to EN10.  Fortunately I had opted out of automatic updates in both Windows and Android and I'm waiting with interest to see what happens with the update's missing features...

    * Filterize can move, list and/ or tag notes based on keywords in the body or title of a note,  the sender of the email, or the tags applied.

That's amazing! That flow! 😄 Thanks for the 2020 update. I've always used a similar method to the one you describe above (evernote, gmail, & google/Icloud calendar), but I never considered having gmail send certain emails to your evernote general box. Do you originate that from gmail using a filter and "forward to"? Do you have Google sending the note to your evernote email address, and then evernote places in your default folder? Just being sure I understand!

I've also looked into filterize and it looks fantastic. Do you use the free or paid version? I didn't want to pay, but wasn't sure what the limitations of the free subscription mean. It says, "3 filters/table of contents" are allowed with the free plan. I'm not sure how it works, is 3 filters/table of contents enough to be able to create a modest dashboard?

    Thanks Gazooommperrrrr

  4. i love the reminders, however I feel like this feature needs to be expanded. I was so excited to find reminders in evernote, but I would really find them more useful if they could be repeated. For example, I work with SEO. I have an analytics report saved, but would like to be automatically reminded every 2 weeks to run the report again and update the contents of the note.

  5. Hello! I would like an option for adding more color. As I am a visual learner, I would like to be able to color code my list of notes. And/or a kanban style board. Or, have the option to color code different tags. I was actually quite surprised that these features don't already exist, because I have become accustom to using these features in many other apps.
