  1. Would definitely welcome such an integration since I use apple Calendar and wish to refrain sharing my agenda to google, nor third parties.
  2. I am not sure this is a response to me and why you are given me such a response. This is a feature request, it seems like some people prefer to select more than 50 notes, as was previously possible. You can personally find it enough to provide the solution you offer, by changing configs. Others, like me would like the default to be more than 50 (the whole point of a FEATURE and FEEDBACK request).
  3. For me this would be a very beneficial feature as well. Usually I add some general labels to a section of notes I took from courses over a semester. For example, her I add the block, semester, course name and year of the course. Since I usually take between the 70/150 notes per course, with different sub-sections as (presentations, lectures, labs, exercises and readings), by not being able to select more than 50 notes makes this process quite effortful.
  4. Definitely agree with both points. With one of the recent updates, choosing a heading has become easier, however, I reckon it would be more Convenient to adjust the heading using simple key's or as a right click option. With regards to the second point, recently I started making my summaries on Evernote for my studies. Which works relatively well, overlooking some of the current limitations, as both the literature (pdf) and summary are in the same place and can be organised in a relatively efficient matter - besides the lack of a sub-stack option. While, it has these benefits, it lacks structure as summaries or lecture notes can be lengthy. If a feature that provides an overview of the headings will be introduced Evernote, it would be the perfect way of enhancing structure and finding specific information quickly. Thus, enhancing productivity.
  5. Will there be an Apple Calendar integration, with some other limitations of Evernote I am doubting the added value of using Evernote premium. I am not sure about the benefits of a Calendar template, compared to an integration of existing schedules that it does not cover yet.
  6. Indeed going through the notebook tree, this will work as there are relatively limited amount of notebooks within this sub-stack. If we would apply this trough the use of labels it will be significantly harder to do the same in an organised matter. Since one note can contain a lot of labels, for me this could be to first date general info as #University #semester 1 # year one # course name # block 2 #lecture 4 and then note specific ones as #international law #conflict #humanitarian law # China. Finding a specific note by "going through the tag tree" requires me to find the right tags which can be complicated if multiple notes can contain similar labels and will overall take more time. Furthermore, I think this approach is counter intuitive, as I think generally humans organise information in a more visual matter. Therefore, the ability to organise information this way, by introducing sub-stacks, will make retrieving some information faster and reduce the amount of Notebooks in a singe stack, improving the overall organisation and clean appeal. The absence of the feature I am advocating for is one of my earliest frustrations with Evernote and hope this function will be introduced. Now, all my previous semesters/years are placed in one stack with notebooks that are layered by year, course, type of note (lecture, skills lab, readings and assignment) in a disorganised matter, one extra stack layer could mitigate this problem.
  7. Now, I indeed take a similar approach. However I am not in favour of creating one Notebook per course or semester, as my Notebooks "stack" display will be viewing all my previous semesters, which looks messy and makes it harder to find specific notebooks due to the quantity of notebooks previewed on the Notebooks display , especially over time. Instead I just use a single stack called previous semester to counter that. As a result all those previous courses - with various separate elements as lectures, skillslabs and assignment - from various semesters are unorganised in one overall Notebook stack, called 'previous semesters', in favour of a clean start up display of all my Notebooks. In response to #enberg, I have been actively labelling the notes accordingly for two years and is useful to some extend. However, this method excludes visual navigation of some notebooks which be preferable some times, since the tag or name of the course is not always remembered on the long term. Visually going through notebooks in a logic matter, can counter this and would definitely be very beneficial to me. This does require multiple sub-stacks which Evernote has been unwilling to introduce.
  8. This feature would certainly be beneficial, especially for students in organising notes over the years. Now I am hindered in efficiently organising my notes by the restraints of the current limit of notebooks layers. For example, when I complete the first block of a four-block year, I only have one notebook for previous semesters. In which all the four blocks are located. Making this limitation worse is that every block consists of multiple courses with different components - lectures, readings, assignments and workgroups. Overall, the lack of this function severely limits my ability to keep my notebooks organised and recall notebooks.
  9. To clarify, even though I mentioned foxIT and PDF Expert, the sole function I am looking for on my IPad, is the ability to auto-highlight text in a pdf format which I consider a more important function than taking notes on Evernote since reading papers is one of the core things students do. At the moment of writing, I am indeed exporting the pdf, edit it, to consequently export it again to Evernote. Even though this works, it is anything but convenient, time consuming and annoying to say the least. Therefore, I do advocate for a new feature which enables IPad users to seamlessly edit and save (for me highlighting) pdf’s in Evernote, whether by external applications or otherwise. As I see more and more IPad’s and mobile devices being used at the campus, I think it would be beneficial to many students.
  10. Thank you for your response, in brief, in my opinion the annotating function Evernote is too limited in tools and is too time consuming to use on the IPad. Compared to other PDF editing software, it does not auto select/highlight text which makes it too time consuming to be productive using this device and make the highlighting appear chaotic. These missing features are for me, and I think for other students, basic necessities to use Evernote effectively for university work on the IPad. More importantly to me, the combination of the ability to store, highlight efficiently and quickly find papers is the core reason for using Evernote. And indeed, for me the main problem is the inability to automatically save pdf’s in external applications, this single feature would solve my problem.
  11. Using Evernote to save newspapers and articles online, and as a student to register all my notes, agenda and academic papers which all goes perfectly well on Imac and other windows devices, I noticed significant restrictions while using an Ipad. Starting the new academic year, I intended to use Evernote on the Ipad (PRO, newer version) and noticed the, for a student a core function, annotating articles was not possible. Usually I store my papers and books I need to read on Evernote and would highlight and comment on it using other devices. On the Ipad, however, only the annotation function of Evernote functions which is unattainable to use for multiple pages. Other, external apps as PDF expert or FoxIT, do not work together with Evernote, thereby, disabling highlighting of PDF's. I was wondering if there are alternative ways to counter this problem and what ways around this might be. More importantly, I would like to see an update which enables me to work on PDF's on my Ipad without any problems.
