  1. Hi, In response to a recent email detailing these measures, I made sure that my windows XP system was updated and Service Pack 3 was installed along with Windows Explorer 8, yet evernote still does not synch. What to do now?
  2. I got a warning from Evernote saying that the forum had been hacked and email addresses and hashed passwords had been hacked. The letter also said that the forum data and my evernote account data are stored separately and that there was no risk to my account. But is this true, in order to log into a forum I log into my account. I just did it. So in what sense are these two components of the Evernote web site different? How about Evernote informing us of just what the risks are in doping out a hashed password. Can it be done? Why don't they tell us?
  3. The real problem is the evernote web clipper. The current version doesn't work. Whenever I uninstall the extension from Safari and re-load with an older version of the clipper which does work, Evernote automatically upgrades my installation to the newest version. For heavens sake stop this automatic upgrading. At least give me the choice of whether or not to install the upgrades. All this wastes so much time for want of some decent respect for the users of this app. For anyone who wants the old web clipper her's a link passed on to me by some kind fellow in another forum.evernote web clipper version 5.9
  4. Well, the promise in another forum from Evernote is that 10.6.8 users will be left with a working evernote but no more help will be given. Does a working evernote include the web clipper, because it has never worked for me since the upgrade to the all singing all dancing tab version, which is, incidentally, a load of codswallap even if it did work. Let the designers of this stuff stand up and be counted. The direction Evernote is going is not encouraging. jbignert, wherever you are, I salute you.

  6. Well OK you've fixed the attachments problem for us Mac OS 10.6 users, but the Safari web clipper still doesn't work. Although the little elephant records the number of 'clips' correctly, nothing gets saved. What's up there?
  7. That fix was stated explicitly in the release notes From the release notes: - Fixed: Issues attaching documents in OS X 10.6 That's great to know. Thanks for the reply. But where are these release notes? I tried to check precisely that before installing the new update but couldn't find them anywhere on the evernote web site.
  8. Well that's great news. Thanks for letting me know. But dare I try it? I'll have a coffee and ponder. The coffee was short but the news good. I updated and now it works for me too.
  9. Well that's great news. Thanks for letting me know. But dare I try it? I'll have a coffee and ponder.
  10. So does the latest 5.4.4 update fix all these problems for mac os 10.6 or not? Why are you not being open about what fixes these updates address?
  11. Everytime I run web clipper or log into my account online, I have to repair the hard drive directory structure. Forget about not being able to attach PDFs and the rest, this is serious.
  12. If you are running macs with 10.6.X or anything less, start weeping. It's been bypassed by Evernote. 5.4.4. has a whole host of problems not least of which is ruining the directory set-up on the hard disk. Everytime I use Evernote now I have to repair the disk. Oh hum.
  13. Hi Elena, well if you are running a mac with 10.6.8 or less then Evernote has given you (and all the other mac 10.6 users) the finger. It's not supported anymore.
  14. Well then, Product Development manager, give all of us 10.6.x users links to the old evernote that functions best, and next time you introduce serious upgrades let everyone know what the options are and give them the choice of upgrading or not. This is a serious failure of connect with all your devoted users. Let it not happen in the future.
  15. Same thing with me. Running 10.6.8 on a macbook since latest updates and new web clipper, cannot attach pdf files. Text files, web archive files, rtf files yes, but no pdfs, no docs. As suggested in help files, I've done the adobe thing and taken out the adobe plugins from /library/internet plug-ins and re-booted but this made no difference. Neither does new web clipper get it right. Lots of saves gone missing. There are clearly some major issues here. I've raised a ticket but the only reply I've had was 'apologies for the inconvenience.' This is more than an inconvenience, this is a serious limitation to the app at best and at worst untrustworthy behaviour. I worry now about syncs. I have Eevrnote on three devices and a lot of the time I will work on one device that is not connected to the internet, then open up the file on my computer say and work with it while connected. Now what does Evernote do with these two different versions of the same file? It should differentiate them with a date stamp and synch them both. But I have only one conflicted version of a file over all my years with Evernote, and now I am beginning to worry about its integrity.
