  1. Evernote is working on adding this feature. See this forum post: http://forum.evernote.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=12524 For now, there is a workaround: 1. Select the text you want to highlight. 2. Make the Fonts palette appear by either pressing the Fonts button at the top of a clipping or by selecting the menu item Format > Show Fonts or by pressing ⌘T. 3. Click on the 'Document Color' box in the Fonts palette. (It's the fourth box from the left at the top of the palette.) A Colors palette will appear. 4. Choose the highlight color you want. The selected text's background will change to the chosen color.
