  1. gazumped: After years in the SQL world, experience tells me that embedded dates of any type don't sort as cleanly as I would wish. But you raise goods points, and eloquently so. Another solution would be a user-defined field, however I doubt that Evernote would push it out. My OP was just to tweak a feature already allowed by Evernote, but clean it up a bit to make it more user-friendly. Nonetheless, I'll play with embedded title dates and see how it goes. Thanks for the input
  2. First of all, I know how to change the Date Created via Note Info. Second, I've tested the feature on MAC Desktop client, WebClient, and iOS. They behave slightly different, however all lack smooth functionality. I also know you can use the shortcut key and add a date into the body of a note via Shift CMD D, but that doesn't sort very well. My case -> in my genealogy research I want to store family documents and pictures and edit the Create Date to match that of the document date, such as a Census Date, Death Date, Picture, etc. The problem -> using Note Info you can indeed change the Date Created and if the year is relatively recent, then it's not a big deal to edit. However, if the document is 100 years old then it's very difficult to scroll through 100 years of the calendar by month to select the right date. To change the Date Created 100 years, using the left arrow click 100 yrs X 12 month/yr is 1200 clicks. Yes, you can select the year and it pulls up a short year list, but only goes back or forward about 10 years - still a tedious effort to go back 100 or so years. Solution - (1) let the user simply manually edit the month/date/year or (2) make the date fields (month day and year) fully functionable scrollable lists so the user can scroll up / down quickly and select the appropriate date desired. This would be much appreciated in my work!
  3. Nice job guys! Been on Evernote Premium for ~ 10 years; last few years as a beta user, providing testing feedback as requested. Over the last few months I tested Evernote Tasks features and provided feedback. Yesterday when I logged into Evernote Web to update my own 'Tasks' it politely said that I could use Tasks for 29 days, but then I would have to Upgrade my account. I'm a Marketing grad, so please tell me what kind of new strategy you're using where you ask for help, then kick those who helped out to the curb?!!
  4. What version exactly did you update to? And your system - computer, tablet, phone???
  5. To be clear, my current status on 10.6.9 - PDF - it won't even display the first page, nor the last, nor anything in between. It will not render any jpeg or png either. So our issues are slightly different, but related somewhat. I'm offering to demonstrate to EN tech support, but, wait...they can't talk on the phone. Email support only!
  6. How many versions of Evernote does it take to get the COMPLETE job done - three! Right now, I'm having to use 3 different versions for full functionality. I use Evernote Legacy for full features of adding, editing, viewing notes, adding reminders, and being able to see notes containing attachments such as PDFs, JPEGs, PNGs files. Secondly, I use Evernote Web for searching capability, and generally speaking I can view PDFs, JPEGs, PNGs files, but the Web versions lack a lot of functionality, especially "right-click" features. Third, I use the latest version of Evernote 10.6.9 for any "Home" features, but because it will not recognize PDFs, JPEGs, PNG attachments, I primarily use 10.6.9 just to see when Evernote is going to finally pull itself together and get everything into one package!!! (hint, hint). Oh wait, there's a fourth version - iOS! I use it to look up things, create simple notes, etc. But it does not render any note with Tables properly. In fact it will cause note corruption if I try to use it to edit a note with a Table. Good job guys! macOS Pro Big Sur Microsoft Edge and/or Safari
  7. Quick update - I was invited to download Evernote "Home" (v 10.3.7 build 2061 beta). I installed it just for grins because the current release is of no value to me due to the pdf issue. I've been using Evernote Legacy. I'm not sure at this point what exactly "Home" brings to the table in terms of functionality (more testing required), but the PDF viewing problem seems to be resolved. I checked several PDFs that I couldn't open in last release, and I can now view them. Good luck, Happy Thanksgiving!
  8. I'm having this same problem with version 10.3.7 - when trying to view PDFs and some JPEGs. I've resorted to using EN Legacy, and those same attachments files display and annotate fine. I've also tested with EN Web and same files display fine. The problem is with the new release, and has been since the beginning. If my files were corrupted, the display error would be consistent across EN Legacy, V10, and the Web. For now, I'm avoiding EN 10 until this problem is fixed. Here is the error msg EN 10 returns (see attachment)
