  1. Good points. After 10 years of EN and 3 months of Notion - for organizing information - I don't know how anyone could pick EN over Notion. The tagging, the @ symbol cross referencing, the backlinks, the Toggle Headers, the hierarchial folders, table of contents, and more. You can even sync a portion of a page/note on other pages - edit one place, updates in other places automatically. No need to reply with "Notion webclipper sucks" or "Notion mobile sucks" (it does). I can't use Obsidian because all my work is on Chromebooks via browsers (theoretically could load Linux version).
  2. @ferol know how to do "nag alarms" (repeating) in Notion ? I love the @remind command. Thanks !
  3. Yes the converter worked well for me. Only exception was EN "internal links" referencing another EN note. no big deal
  4. Nice- hate gray links. i'm learning a lot here about Notion in the Evernote forum...
  5. Found a Table of Contents function in Notion. Looks good for long notes. Doesn't "span several notes" like I used to do in EN, but I can use @ references to other notes. https://www.notion.so/Table-of-contents-50de58f824bf4100a4a9fa5b6f783c2b#d88f2cad06f949a8b6c4cb846a18f1fa
  6. Nested tags looks complicated and requires advanced planning. I used to use Evernote table of contents feature. It would make a table of contents from several pages, I'd like to find that functionality in Notion. but I just love the toggle command in Notion to quickly and easily collapse sections
  7. Great idea ! I searched on Notion for "evernote:///view/710611" - got a bunch of hits - many without internal links - but seems to have snagged a bunch I can convert. Whether or not it's snagging all, we'll see. Thanks again !
  8. In my 4,000 notes, I have some "internal links" from one note to another. Is there a way to search for all the internal links ? I've converted over to Notion - when I hit an Evernote internal link - it obviously doesn't work. I'd like to go to my EN database and identify all the internal links and manually recreate in Notion Unfortunately, in EN the text is the link title. Hope this makes sense. Thanks !
  9. I moved to Notion. 4000 notes. Conversion easy. What I care about most: notetaking and information organization. Not sharing, making websites, web clipping, emailing, etc. For my needs, Notion is better. You can create "notes inside notes inside notes" - the "Toggle" heading is awesome - make a bunch of subnotes on a page, click a toggle and collapse it. Links between pages / notes / sections is easier. Evernote has no "multilevel hierarchy" On a big project - I'd either have to use 5-10 notes or "big long notes". Yuk. My only Notion gripes are the phone app is weak and the "pages look boring" - even bolding isn't bright, don't think can highlght text. But I'm boring too, so that's OK. Good luck for whatever works for you.
  10. Notion working great for me. The multilevel pages in pages is awesome - toggle switch to collapse and expand. Yes there's "warts" but I like it more.
  11. Leaving Evernote was worth it just to get rid of this message every time you click external link..... Notion working great
  12. Thanks. You are right - Notejoy is very similar to Evernote - and easily transferred over my EN data. I'm staying with Notion for now - love the flexibility.
  13. This thread for people leaving EN, right or wrong, for whatever reason. EN is good product. and years ago market share leader. But they're losing share fast - even before recent pricing action. I found this very interesting - can't attest to data/methodology. My one week with Notion has been awesome. Merry Christmas to all !! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTg3fCr1WaY
  14. Thanks. Started an account. Bummer Free version cannot include image in note. Seems very close to EN at 1/3 the price. Definitely will evaluate.
  15. Thanks ! Keeping everything in EN. Change of new year is good marking point. Data is really more portable than I thought. I just need a "second brain depository" - so a lot of these other notetaking tools will work fine. And each pretty easy to learn.
  16. Thanks ! Amplenote looks great too. Going to give a try. And keep "history" in EN for awhile. I re-imported EN to Notion - working great. There are lot of good alternatives to Evernote.
  17. I did create Notion account. They have a direct import - where it automatically grabs EN data. I used on a couple small databases - worked great - seemingly everything came over, including tags. However: my largest database, over 2,000 notes came over twice - two copies of each. Deleted and retried. I'd rather not manually delete 2,000 notes. If I could fix this - I'd be done.
  18. Have few thousand notes. Some notes with images, tags, few attached files. Simple requirements - free or less than $40, accessible via web, ideally keeping tabs. Notion, Jopin, Notesnook, Zoho and others all seem like they'll work fine. What matters most is easy/confirmed/robust transfer of data out of EN. What apps please have the best converters ? I'm asking also at "destination app" support sites. Please no drama, pricing, "freeloader", snarky comments. @PinkElephant please ignore this thread - don't need your usual troll comments. Next response will be my initial experience with Notion transfer Thanks !!
