  1. Latest web version is painfully slow. I don't understand why search is in different spot vs Windows program. The overall design has too much "open space" - which EN seems to think is "clean" - I think it is useless and wasteful. You've "dumbed it down" to "Google Keep level" - you are going the "wrong way" to differentiate your product.
  2. So there's "beta", "current version" and "classic version". I've been on classic last couple years, occasionally go to "current" (which I called new) - and get frustrated by the step backward. So "beta" and "current" are both step backwards to "classic" from what I've seen. Thanks.
  3. "New" web client is horrible. Been that way for years, right ? I just tried it again and it painfully slow. How can a company go backwards for so long and so consistently ?
  4. I have "set new note focus to title" unchecked - and the "lost focus" problem does happen. When I click from another app into EN Windows program note - I used to click once and type. Now that doesn't work - first click is ignored - I have to click a second time to edit. Same version as above. Very annoying...
  5. I see same thing (I think). When I click from another app into EN Windows program - the first click "doesn't register" - I click, start typing, doesn't take. Have to click again. Very annoyhing.
  6. I click link, get annoying "you are leaving EN" screen, go to link. When I go back to EN web, none of the links in the document are active any more - I have to hit "refresh" to make links clickable. Just me ? Something I'm doing wrong ? Thanks. This is the "old" web version (not the new one that I don't like at all).
  7. Yes, I went back thanks. Hope they improve. The new/latest mobile client is functional and beautiful.
  8. I figured out how to switch back - go under settings.
  9. Switched to new client to try to solve problem. Boy is new client horrible - what a waste of space. It is a step backwards. Isn't that obvious to developers ? Sorry to rant.
  10. I tried undo in the note - information came back. Also tried new web client - boy is new web client HORRIBLE - what a waste of space. Changing font size in the note also lost information. How do you switch back to old web client ?
  11. Text formatting in EN has always been wonky. But I never lost data (to my knowledge). Selected text in a note - changed font size - lost about 1/3 of the lines.
  12. Rather than paying $40 for EN, which is NUTS, I subscribed to Office 365 for $10-20 more. Office 365 is awesome - much better value and utility. I have not yet figured out how to do all the same things in OneNote as EN - not sure all the same functionality can be replicated - but it is clear OneNote can "do the job" for me. Is there offline access with OneNote ? Reading below looks so ? Nice ! https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Can-I-work-offline-d75e8b4d-fd37-4fd7-afbf-4ec285fe76c3?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US
  13. Someone said elsewhere (I think) that historically only 5% of EN's base pays subscription. That shows that it was overpriced. So raising the price is going to help ? Duh. They need a "Lite" tier for $15/year that includes some limited number of off-line handheld stored notes (100 ?). I think a lot of people that will never pay $40 would pay $15 for this "Lite" tier. I am getting more comfortable with OneNote - still in "beta" for me - but I can easily go over and be fine. Microsoft has a winner with Office 365. If you do not have it, try it before sending $40 to Evernote.
  14. People have this emotion because taking away functionality that used to be free is sleazy and disingenuous. "Pro" versions of software are very common - and companies are free to charge (and raise) what pricing they think they can command. I cannot name a company that reneged on free software functionality and took it away - can you ? I think OneNote has a lot of potential - especially its integration with Office 365. The note formatting in OneNote is superior to Evernote (which has horrible text formatting). But OneNote does not have tagging (yet) and I can't figure out the search yet. If you scan a lot, OneNote integrates really well with Microsoft Lens - the best scanning app on the planet, by far - it is amazing how it scales and proportions the image if you camera is tilted. So I wish the best for everyone to find the note taking solution that meets their needs and budget. I also hope that EN can take note taking "to the next level" and be rewarded through subscriptions by the marketplace.
  15. Get real - those are commercial program - with commercial functionality far beyond a note-taker like Evernote. I understand "freemium" model. I understand Feedly, Pocket, and others have "Pro" versions for $30 year. Evernote is disingenuous and using sleezy "Bait and Switch" tactics by taking away features of Free version (cropping to 2 devices). Instead they should be adding value by adding wanted features and advancing the product to encourage people to pay for Pro versions. The product isn't advancing, they're just monetizing their earlier bait.
  16. It is "mean spirited" to offer a free product for years, get users to invest it in, then spring dramatic increases and scr*w the base that supported you. Microsoft Office 365 costs $60/year, and provides 10x the value, utility, and functionality for a professional over EN (5 or 6 apps, cloud storage, and OneNote). And that price includes: Cloud access, 1 PC, 1 phone, 1 tablet. Evernote pricing is outrageous by any measure.
  17. Go to OneNote and don't get hosed by Evernote's outrageous pricing plans. Here's link: https://blogs.office.com/2016/03/11/make-the-move-from-evernote-to-onenote-today/
  18. I figured it out - there's a some weird "D" in lower left - click on it - click on settings - then there's a "go back" button. Phew. The whole settings area is one big advertisement for premium. Hello OneNote.... .
  19. Too big, too open. Step backwards. You have to push a button to search. Duh. Adding steps will make us more productive. Keep old search bar integrated. How do you switch back ?
  20. The nag screen is obnoxious and as unprofessional as malware. Post your opinions to Twitter, below is shortened link to this discussion thread. New Evernote "nag screen" is obnoxious. Everyone hates https://goo.gl/2m9nmf @evernotehelps #onenote @msonenote
  21. Everyone is aware of the differences between free and premium - and many people buy premium that want/need these features. To annoy people with popups until the buy is obnoxious and a poor business model.
  22. Google ads are not pop up that you have to acknowledge to remove. Really tacky of Evernote.
