  1. I have the same problem on my laptop. It was working fine this morning at the hospital. But won't start now that I am home. Windows user - Premium Account with 42,000 notes Due to the number of notes I have, I want to avoid the full-blown uninstall / reinstall. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Something went wrong on our end, sorry about that. Please try restarting Evernote. Exit Code: -10737 --> Quit --> Restart - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I will give Support a shot at addressing this.
  2. Thanks for the upgrade link. I've been burned a few times with the Evernote manual download. My 2024 Evernote Version History (might have missed a few) Date Version 2/29 10.71.2 2/27 10.773.3 2/22 10.76.2 2/16 10.75.2 1/31 10.71.2 1/30 10.73.4 1/23 10.72.2 Because I have 42,250 notes (since 2008) I try to be careful. I only use Evernote on my home computer. I do not use the Evernote web version. I shut down Evernote and my computer every night and restart in the morning. I will wait until tomorrow and see if there is another automatic upgrade notice. Thanks once again.
  3. I'll have to wait for another one of the Evernote frequent updates. When I use the - Help - Check for Updates, I receive the following info: You’re up to date! Evernote 10.71.2 is currently the newest version available.
  4. Evernote sure puts in many revision changes. Today (Feb 29) was DOWNGRADED BACK TO 10.71.2. This version was originally installed on Jan 31. On Feb 27 it was 10.773.3 and several other versions in February. Today I have lost the ability to adjust the width of the title column. It is too small now. The Note List View uses the Side List. The columns are Date Created, Title, and Location. In the past, I used to hold the mouse between the Title column and the Location column to adjust the width. Is there a way to widen the Toggle column?
  5. Current Evernote version: 10.75.2-win-ddl-public I have 42,127 notes - they are all sorted by the CREATED DATE. I came across some medical history in a file cabinet dated October 23, 2008. I typed it into Evernote today and tried updating the CREATED DATE. I used Ctrl+Shift+I to access the NOTE INFO. Today is 2024 but I cannot edit the CREATED DATE year older than 2016. (the 8 year restriction) I have been able to adjust the CREATED DATE date many times. Usually, I only have to change it a few days or weeks - doctor appts for example. I just made some CREATED DATE changes this month before the latest version update. To be honest, I don't have to change the year often. In the past, the CREATED DATE could easily be edited for any year. The years would scroll. But now they are locked at 8 years. For example - one of my genealogy records in Evernote is dated 1718 (correct), but if I test it, the earliest possible year is 1710. (8 years) Is this a version glitch? or is it a design restriction?
  6. AlbertR I let Evernote try to perform it's invisible sync. After a few days, I realized that the problem was somewhere else. So I decided to try dropping back to the previous version. All my search techniques sprung back to action. (Notebook, tag:, intitle:,) Now I will see if there is a way to prevent the automatic updates. Thank you for your assistance.
  7. AlbertR Thank you. I think the long time to sync might be the problem. If I skip the search feature and open all the tags (the list of tags), I can find my specific note. With 41,000 notes covering the past 10+ years, I've got a lot of different tags. I've been using Evernote since 2012 and have gone through challenges with a variety of support people. Why? Because I use Evernote in a manner different from the way they wanted me to use it. For instance, I would install appointments in the future on the day the appt was due. I lived on the Legacy version for several years after Evernote moved on. Eventually, I realized that I should upgrade and I had to change many of my existing notes. The support people never mentioned I could run both versions at the same time. I will keep Evernote open for a few more days to see if this is just a sync problem. If the problem continues, I will follow your advice - 1.) contact support and 2.) install the Legacy version. Thanks again.
  8. AlbertR Q: That means? Does it return nothing, only a incomplete list of notes or too many notes? A: It returns the entire database of 41,110 notes Q: do you see any error message? A: No error message appears for the search involving tag: or intitle: or even just text. Q: So maybe your maschine isn't synced so far... A: that might be a possibility - not showing the sync status is a frustrating situation Even though I have the premium subscription status, I dread contacting support. They are the worst. Going back to the Legacy version might be a possibility, but also frustrating.
  9. Tag: is no longer working for me. I have been away from my Evernote account for the past 6 months (cancer) I started re-using simple Evernote commands and the tag: function has stopped working. I tried File / Sign out and Log back in. Any suggestions? Currently, I have 41,110 notes 10.59.5-win-ddl-public (5236) Editor: v174.13.3 Service: v1.70.3
  10. I started Evernote 15 years ago (July 2008) I have 40,651 notes on my primary account and an additional 24,000 notes in my archive secondary account. Back then Evernote's mission was more geared toward the individual. It is my "2nd brain" with fast searching. I can capture anything: save my ideas, things I like, things I hear, and things I see. I miss the good old days when Phil Libin ran Evernote and he had a tight group of administrators. But even with all the changes since then, I have not found anything that can replace Evernote.
  11. I was under the impression that Evernote cannot run on a Chromebook due to the lack of storage on the actual computer.
  12. Boot17 - you are a wonderful person. I have posted this issue several times with no fruitful responses. But you came through! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
  13. I found the modification of the Created Date for notes so valuable in the Legacy version. But I switched to newest versions with no ability to edit the created date. I've been using Evernote since 2008 (70,000+ notes). Fortunately, many years ago, I started adding my modified created date at the beginning of each note title. So this crutch has helped me document what I consider to be my version of the created date.
  14. Thank you for the quick response. I'll do some research on Filterize and send them my question. I'll let you know what they say. But my gut reaction is that Filterize won't have access to the CREATED date field in the Evernote database.
  15. Thank you, but I don't think AHK will make the adjustment. Here is what I am trying to do. I want to use the CREATED date format for all notes that was used in the past. The yyyy-mm-dd format was used by Evernote over the previous 12+ years. New Version = Legacy Version 2/28/23 = 2023-02-28 Nov 4 = 2022-11-04 Nov 4 = 2022-11-04 Oct 18 = 2022-10-18 Sep 22 = 2022-09-22 Yesterday = 2022-09-21 This screen capture shows the current CREATED date format
  16. I've stuck with Legacy for a long time. I occasionally give the new version a try but run into very basic issues and find the "Help and Learning " section heavily biased toward Teams and Corporate. Over the past 14 years, I have built up a personal list of 60,000 notes. I occassionally dip into the lastest version and immediately bump it problems that don't seem to be addressed. For example: Can the DATE format in notes be changed from "Sep 19" to "2022 09 19"? using Windows 10.44.8-win-ddl-public (3632)
  17. I think the Sync problem might be caused by the house router system. We moved to a new location that has terrible internet speeds - an unbelevably insanely slow 5 MBps via TDS Net. They offer a sluggish 25 MBps, but our home is too far from their box for that speed.
  18. Mike P A million thanks. My last 12+ years of data were designed with an accurate Creeated Date. For example, yesterday I made an appointment with our vet for an annual checkup of our dog for Feb 22. With your tip, I can change the created date from the arbitrary phone conversation on Feb 11 to the important appointment on Feb 22. Yay! Thank you.
  19. I have built up 38,000 notes in my primary Evernote account over the since 2009. I stayed with the legacy version due to all the problems with the new version. But a few days ago, the sync process kept failing. I contacted Evernote support. They insisted that I HAD to upgrade to the current version to get help. Against my gut feeling I did the upgrade they recommended (to version 10.30.6). I feel sick now. It was a terrible decision. Is there any way to modify the CREATED date?
  20. I remember back in the older days, users would passionately insist that Evernote employee/s would read each and every post. I just laughed at their naïveté (naivete).
  21. The ability to modify the Evernote created date is so important for my use, I start the title of my notes (even web screen captures) with YYYY MM DD format as a secondary safeguard. My title format is consistent: YYYY MM DD - Location - Subject - Person
  22. 1.) I change the created day for most of my notes. I believe the Created Date should reflect my opinion on what the correct created date should be. My opinion of what the Created Date is far more important than the date I decided to scan it or screen capture. 2.) And to be 100% sure, I use a structured note header that starts with the date (YYMMDD) , followed by location (State, City), followed by Company, followed by topic, and finally name of person involved. Example: 2021 09 15 ME Bangor - Lowes - shop for refigerator - JLB & DLB
  23. Evernote! Why? Why? Why don't you learn from your past? When I saw the possiblity of connecting my Google calendar with Evernote, I started thinking about upgrading from Legacy EN to the current version. Then the problems started appearing in this forum with silence from EN. Thank you to the other users who came up with possible workarounds: remove all other Google connections, then connect calendar, then re-enable all the other connections. And EN support does not seem to be aware of the problem or the solution. I'll continue to sit on a safer spot with Legacy EN and wait until there is a ground swell of support for the new version. (EN has sent me down this dark rabbit hole more than once in the past).
  24. I love the ability to change the date field. I collect genealogical information from the past. It makes so much more sense to change the wedding date of a relative from today's note to the actual date they got married. Ditto for their birth date and other important dates. I also change both the date and time when I create a note as my reminder for an appt or task in the future. Same applies to accumulated receipts which generally don't get scanned for several days.
  25. I remember when some Evernote power-users would almost get into arguments trying to convince me that Evernote employees read all the user comments in this forum. Sadly those days are gone. I no longer post suggestions. Any comment I post here is to share with other users who can offer work-around fixes.
