  1. Which of the Evernote alternatives now available to which Evernote notes can be imported offers the best options for 1. Sorting 2. Storing 3. Reading 4. General manipulation, i.e. merging, moving, viewing, etc. 5. Clipping These are the features that lead me, in 2008, to upgrade to a paid account. I am astonished at how many in this forum are accepting this problem and proposing "work-arounds" including some that are rather expensive. I shouldn't have to "work-around" a program I pay for to get it to perform the functions it advertised itself as performing. (It is maybe worth noting that earlier versions -much earlier ones- didn't have this problem. Evernote has built a bug it didn't have. How did it get released?) I now have over 65,000 notes. I don't want to lose them in an alternative or not be able to find them. Many in this forum have pointed out that Evernote knows about this situation. I don't want to be snarky or to dismiss the value of other improvements that other users propose but when I install an update to find that it changes the background color of parts of the screen when basic functions work so poorly, I have to think that Evernote is simply displaying an instinct for the capillary when the artery is cut.
  2. Through many versions of Evernote I have found that "not responding" appears on opening, and within the opened app on many clicks. I thought it was my computer for awhile but it is the same on aged machines and new ones. A look at task manager shows that, in fact, it is responding, but ever so slowly. It will eventually open or execute the command. What, if anything, can I do to speed it up. Other apps occasionally, i.e. one a month for a short time also show "not r responding" but none do so multiple times a day. Thanks, Stevee
  3. Evernote (not responding) happens for me nearly every time I attempt to open it. A look at the Task Manager shows that it is, in fact, working, just ever so slowly. Chrome also shows (not responding) from time to time, about monthly. Evernote does it several times a day. You update quite often and I keep hoping the new update will work more quickly but, as of today's new update, it's the same old (not responding). Please, fix it or tell me how to fix it.

  6. Subject of yesterday's automated email: Ticket# 867925 - Ticket# 861224---I was working with Amanda R on this problem about Evernote Windows not syncing. That was some time ago, I followed up with an ema... I sent a log file. Clipper, Clearly, iPhone, web all work. Desktop doesn't sync.
  7. Re-installed, no synch Removed and installed from website, still no synch. I'm not sure what my next step should be, Chrome browser, Wiindows 8.1
  8. Has anyone ever gotten a response to the auto-response email when there is an error and a log file is sent. I've clicked "send to Evernote" and received many auto-responses and never anything more. Here's the response that would make most people think they would hear more from Evernote within a few days. "As a valued customer of Evernote, you will receive support within 1 business day. Evernote is closed on Weekends and Holidays."
  9. Everytime I get a "failure to clip" response I click to notify Evernote. I receive an auto-reply from you with the log.txt attached. At the top of your message indicates where I should place my reply. Further down it suggests I should notify you. It also says I'll hear from you but I never have. What, other than clicking the button to notify you, do you want me to do, in what order and how can I stop these increasingly frequent failures? Thank you. logfile.txt
  10. I thought this would be easy to find but all I can find is one for Windows 8 touch. I don't have touch. I am now using 32 bit but didn't mean to be. Thanks, Steve
