  1. Two founders. They could be hiring other full time and/or contract developers.
  2. if you're expecting more than a Thank you reply, you should contact them through the contact us page if you want personalized replies. If their feedback mailbox is not connected to their ticket system, don't expect much.. or anything. Some of these mailboxes are just queues for when someone has time to look at them.
  3. I have my doubts about a $30 lifetime as a business model. Can a company survive a small lifetime fee while its customers is incurring daily expenses in terms of traffic and storage? The company has to pay for this storage and traffic for every customer forever. Lately I have seen a lot of updates from Evernote. The most in all my years of using it. It appears to me this has coincided with their forcing their 51+ notes customers to pay up. I was one of them. More revenue = more resources for development. I am going to check out https://joplinapp.org/. Looks pretty good. This will save me more than $100 a year.
  4. Does UpNote exist for Windows? The website says it doesn't yet. Not one that supports the paid version to support more than 50 notes.
  5. This statement is very general. You can post here about what feature in Evernote that's embedding your definition of usability and maybe there's a workaround. There's a setting now to hide the issue that caused this thread.
  6. I am at 10.80.3 and Evernote says I have the most current version. Are you downloading this from some link or updating from within Evernote? Maybe the updates are not available to the world at the same time. Where are you accessing the 3 dots from? My 3 dots don't anything like this. I know yours is German. It seems you're on a Mac so maybe that's why the different version. BTW, I asked about Windows.
  7. No one is saying to stop the development. We're asking for settings to turn off these disruptive features. Not everyone enjoys a UI that's heavy in bells and whistles. Some of us prefer a minimalist UI and hidden features. When we want something, we can turn it on on demand. We know about the / feature already. No need to show it all the goddamn time!
  8. Is the setting to turn it off in the WIndows version yet? If they add a constant at-your-face visual features, they need to have to a setting to turn it off. Any UI expert knows this. This feature is really annoying and it clutters every line.
  9. Windows upgrade is not yet available for UpNote and the free option supports 50 notes only. Totally useless for me now.
  10. Once you click 'open menu' from the 'Keyboard Shortcuts' settings, you can't close it by clicking the x. You have to close the settings window first. Clicking on open menu again, closes it. That's not discoverable by everyone. This is a weird UI behavior and I consider it a bug.
  11. Is there a way to have the shortcuts always visible? They disappear once you scroll up the notebooks list. In the legacy version, the shortcuts used to be fixed at the top. I liked that. There needs to be a way to have them fixed and showing all the time. Like bookmark/favorite var in browsers.
  12. Suddently all my notes in all the notebooks, the title and the body, are showing in the center of the note pane instead of on the left. This seems to have happened after the last update. How to restore it to the default view?
  13. Comparing the price of a service to Netflix's is not fair. Netflix has about 240 million paid members in the world. Any company with such scale can lower its prices.
  14. Why don't you ever quote what you're replying to!? I lost track of whom you're replying to and what the point you're trying to make. This thread has multiple users making comments in case you didn't notice. You seem to be bothered about something.
  15. The other big issue is that in the dark mode, which is important for me, I can't read the text because the text stays in black. There's hardy any contrast between the text and the background color. I am also skeptical about free software that depends on donations. I am making these points for the benefit of others who might want to check Joplin out.
  16. If you want to pay, go ahead and pay. Good for you and for the company. If the company is offering a free plan and the company thinks it's right and people are making use of it, you shouldn't have an issue with it. The company is offering choices and people are choosing. You seem to have a gripe that you're paying and others are not. You get what you pay for. You get more because you pay.
  17. My first step with Joblin is ti import my enex files. When I found out that I had to do it one file at a time, that turned me off right there.
  18. There were no trial plans with EN. If a plan works for years and it's free, of course they will stick to it. What did you expect? Why pay when you don't have to.
  19. They are supporting imports from many software. So maybe they are implementing frequent changes. Updating a single import location, their servers, is a lot easier and faster than upgrading all the client software for all their users just for import changes. Plus it keeps the client app smaller in size.
  20. I am not sure what you're proposing. Remove the free plan and put instead a free trial? Why? The new 1/50 limit will purge many users in upcoming weeks. Freeing storage and resource. Some of us get a free trial to kick the tires then get distracted or we weren't that interested initially. We're not actively evaluating the software to make a purchase decision. For example, I may come to EN today to check out the software and start a trial, if they had one, and I am also checking other notes software and this is taking some time, maybe weeks and come back to EN and find out the trial expired, guess what will happen? I am going to concentrate on the apps that have free options and take my time with them. EN has lost me as a potential customer. Unless I contact EN and ask for a trial extension. I don't think many people do this. People are lazy.
  21. Users like free options. Me included. I was using a weather service to get historical weather data using their free plan. The first next paid option is $35/month. I am not going to pay that for using the service a bit. We also like to test products for a long time to make sure it works. Sometimes we get busy and forget to test the product and when we have time or remember, the trial has expired and we're stuck with having to pay. The free plan is already pretty limited. They can purge inactive users. The ones who seems to have moved to another company but kept their Evernote account, just in case and it's free anyway.
  22. These users won't be able to add any more new notes. I am pretty sure users who have many notes add new notes frequently. If they can't anymore, I expect they would either upgrade or move away. Both outcomes is what the company wants.
