About tgb

  1. This conversation is getting/ has gotten silly. I use a Chromebook and do serious work. I don't need someone who doesn't know me, what I do, or how I do it, and doens't know the capabilites of a chromebook to determine what I can and can't do. The Chromebook has offline storage, witness gmail and gdrive being able to offer offline capability. It requires some work with html5, but offline apps do work. I also use an android phone, and with a premium evernote account I can get offline note storage on a phone. So, we know that evernote offers offline storage, and we know that chromebook apps can work with offline storage. Now it is just an engineering problem. I don't need to be able to store all my notes offline, just some by selecting which notebooks I want to sync, just like I do on my phone.. One of the reasons I choose going premium was being able to access notes on my phone while on a plane, or whatever. The evernote web app has to be more than just accessing the website, it has to take advantage of current web capabilities and make some or all of the notes available locally. My Chromebook has 8Gb of local storage, so I know that I can't sync all my notes, but workbooks that I choose just like on my phone.
  2. I'm using a Chrome browser (version 19.0.1084.46) and when I try to get to Help from Evernote I get the following error message: This webpage has a redirect loop The webpage at http://evernote.com/contact/support/ has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer. Here are some suggestions: Reload this webpage later. Learn more about this problem. Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects. I cleared all the evernote cookies but to no avail. I had to use IE (ugh) to get to the support forums. Anyone have any idea. I can get to my Evernote account and notes with no problem, it is just getting to "Help" that is blocked. Thanks
  3. Just loaded the evernote add-in for Dolphin browser on my Nexus One. Works great to share with EN.
  4. Open the note choose edit from the menu, the first icon is for choosing the notebook you want to use. Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for supporting tapatalk. I can now follow the forum on my phone. Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
  6. Please use Tapatalk, it makes it so much easier for users
  7. Running the latest beta (114296): when I try to edit a note with rtf, and chose copy the app gives the error message "Note copy error". I can save new notes, edit other notes, but cannot edit existing notes with rtf.
  8. Using the latest beta (104964) I have picked evernote to be an application in the google search application. When I do a search using the google search and pick evernote as the item to search, evernote force closes and doesn't accomplish the search. When I search using the evernote app search capability the search succeeds, and is complete as far as I can tell. Hope this helps.
  9. When I swipe up on the tags screen a "#" appears briefly on the screen, and when i swipe on the notebooks screen a "g" appears briefly. I'm on a nexus one. Also, and more importantly, being able to use the phone search capability to be able to search evernote is totally awesome.
  10. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the next version of EN for Android used the built in search function to search for EN notes. It can search Kindle, weatherbug, messages, Twitter, Mind.com, Paperdroid, and who knows what else (those are apps on my phone that seamlessly integrates search into to system search capability. I don't know if it is a 2.2 thing but it sure makes searching the phone easy.
  11. Thanks Dave, I loaded this latest version and it works great for what I need. Good luck getting it finalized and into production. Tom
  12. I won'l lose the saved search function?
  13. I don't know which version of android evernote I should use. There are at least 3 versions in the ether now. The one from the Market seems to be the least feature rich. The 1.4b2 version with saved search capability. And now the new improved beta. The 1.4b2 beta with the saved search capability is the one that most meets my needs (I think). I use the mobile version to look things up, and manage my GTD protocol. Does the new beta maintain that capability, or if I moved to that version would the app revert to the search capabilities of the Market version? I wish the notes could be stored on the device, and now with Froyo (on some devices) local storage is a possibility. This development highlights the problems with using an android device. I imagine supporting an application on the fragmented android code base is going to be like supporting the various versions on the Blackberry. Although I left the iphone because of the politburo mentality of Apple and Jobs, there are benefits to developers of having a monolithic platform. I think a comparison chart of features, functions and capabilities of each android version, including platforms supported would make our lives easier. Thanks and good luck.
  14. When you print to dopdf it creates a pdf file on your computer. PDF files placed in the evernote source folder are automatically synched into evernote. Go to tools - account properties - file import. All pdf's placed in this folder are synched into your evernote default notebook. It makes it easy to load multiple pdf's into evernote. Good luck
