  1. Not necessarily a very encouraging one, but a glimmer of hope perhaps? Recently I got this response back to my user feedback submission regarding the thumbnail selection issue. On the other hand, I have seen the same language in a response to at least one other of my inquiries I submitted, so it could just be completely meaningless boilerplate stuff. Steven
  2. I can't wait to some day go back and fix all the absurdly irrelevant thumbnails to my notes. Some of my flight information notes literally having a circled P parking logo as the thumbnail because the email content in the note happened to have airport parking information with a parking logo in it. I probably have a rental car note with a hotel as the thumbnail because the rental car confirmation is cross-marketing hotel bookings.
  3. This happened to me before while using Evernote installed on my Chromebook, which I only use occasionally. I thought it was user error -- that I had somehow accidentally deleted the PDF attachments -- but today it happened again under circumstances that I'm convinced was not user error. I had a note from back in March I was editing with 3 PDF attachments. I viewed one of the attachments, backed out to make a text edit in the note, and then suddenly 2 of the attachments suddenly disappeared. And then when I backed out, the Note itself had entirely disappeared. When I went to my phone's Evernote, I was able to pull up the note, still showing a thumbnail of one of the 2 deleted attachments, but still with 2 of the 3 attachments deleted. I went back to my Chromebook, ran the search again, and the note reappeared, but still with 2 of the 3 attachments gone. I've only experienced this on my Chromebook. This is a serious problem with Evernote randomly removing attachments with no means of recovery.
  4. What's often missing from these discussions and what maybe EN doesn't realize that the source of frustration is more than just the inability to select a thumbnail image. It's not like if there are 7 images in a note, even though any one of them might be an appropriate image, we'd just like to select the preferred one. Instead, often, the thumbnail image EN's algorithm ends up being something absurd. I mentioned a note in which I attached a picture of a product, that product's manual, and the purchase receipt. The note is really intended to store and access the manual and I included a picture of the product hoping it would become the thumbnail picture. Instead, I got an image of the MasterCard logo it picked up from the receipt. More recently I created a couples notes with my confirmation emails for some flights I booked. All kinds of images in that note would have been appropriate, but what I got instead was a circled P logo for Parking, because somewhere in the email there was an "Add airport parking" with that logo next to it. So now when I'm looking through notes for that multi-leg trip, I'm remembering to look for the Parking logo when I'm trying to find my flight info. These muck up the at-a-glance view of search results. At a minimum. it'd be helpful to be able to turn off thumbnails for particular notes where the algorithm selection is less than helpful.
  5. But the question was how do you remove the annotation summary page. I know how to uncheck the box if I don't want to include an annotations summary page, but I often forget to do this and need to remove the resulting summary page. Only way I've found to do this is externally with Adobe Acrobat. Any way to accomplish this quickly within Evernote?
  6. The benefit of being able to select the thumbail picture seems self-evident, even as many users have provided examples. I don't get why EN has not picked up on this. I just created a Note capturing a product manual and purchase receipt for that product. I would obviously like an image of the product (which is present in the note) to serve as the thumbnail photo. What I got instead is a mockup image of a credit card from the purchase receipt. Totally absurd and unhelpful.
  7. Any updates on this? I'm using Windows 10 and Evernote 10.32.4 with a Fujitsu ScanSnap ix500 scanner and have encountered the problem exactly as described here. I see that 10.33.4 has fixed the problem for some, but there are no updates available for me when I check. In the mean time I'm having to delete the scan-generated Note with the broken 1st page and creating a new note manually and attaching the PDF file.
