I am having the same problem. So you're saying it's expected behavior for a note to take 30 seconds to a minute to load, showing nothing but a blank screen the whole time? That is . . . unreasonable! Especially without a note or popup to say "hang on while we convert to RTE." It is genuinely unusable now.

oh hey, so sorry -- I thought I was posting in Feature Requests -- thanks for your efforts to help! (oops--editing to add that I just checked: this IS feature requests! So I hope that you're wrong and that someone from Evernote looks at this forum occasionally, because if they have a forum called "feature requests" that they never read that's a real jerk move. For the record, when I googled this I found loads of people complaining about not being able to opt out of this--I am not a sole use case. But I'll also do as you suggest and contact them in other ways; thank you.

thanks. That's not a solution for me--for one thing I'd have to do it to thousands of notations (over 6K), because I search and re-use them all the time. This is such an intrusive change--I really hope you will give us a way to auto-disable, as you apparently can on Windows?

The main thing I use Evernote for, and have for a decade, includes notations in the form of numbers with periods. This new thing where they are instantly rendered into links is making using Evernote a nightmare--I'm constantly opening meaningless Safari pages accidentally. Is there any chance that you will allow us to disable this?

This has been happening to me for a couple of weeks as well and is driving me crazy, since it really shockingly yanks the screen away from whatever app I'm working in to give me its idiotic report. I'm on a 2019 Macbook Pro 10.15.7. Evernote is, in fact, up to date (10.5.7). How close are you to fixing this? I have been dithering about finding an alternative to Evernote since exporting will be a pain, but this is daily motivation.

I am also having the same issue without having yet upgraded to Big Sur -- still on Catalina. It was fine for the first day or so but it's unusable right now. I sent the logs to support.
