  1. The right way to do this is to install the Evernote application to your Android device, log in, and let it sync.
  2. Don't get me wrong; this would be a welcome addition to the Android (and iOS?) application. But failing that, I guess what I'd do in that case would be to capture the stuff I needed, and then massage it once I got back to my desktop to format it nicely. Not ideal, I know, but it's what we have at present.
  3. This is something the Evernote staff have mentioned in a different discussion on full encryption, yes. Here's one comment from the former CTO, from 2008: Would need to dig to find anything more recent.
  4. It's fine to ask for the behavior, of course, but it's also good to remember that there are no such things as checklists in Evernote. There *are* checkboxes, though, and they're implemented, handled and behave differently than the true lists (bulleted and numbered). For example, you can put a checkbox anywhere in your text, even if the current line already has a checkbox in it (I use this feature on occasion). In general, they tend to behave like a normal text characters with special properties (if you click on it, it toggles, etc.). The one thing they do have in common with the true lists (bullets and numbers) is that if there's a checkbox at the beginning of the line of text where your cursor resizes, a carriage return will cause a new line to be created with a new checkbox at its start. But otherwise, checkboxes in Evernote aren't lists.
  5. Ah, OK. I take it back. This *does* work when you drag the bullet or checkbox. I was attempting to grab the line. Nice feature there; I didn't know about it (obviously).
  6. I don't see this working in the latest public release (6.17.6.8292 (308292) Public) of the Windows Evernote client Edit: striking this out as it's not true. See below...
  7. Better to find existing feature requests for individual items and add your upvote / comments there. In particular, the heading request (h1, h2..) has already been requested, and has a fair number of comments and upvotes. If you can't find an existing request, then go ahead and post your own. The general feature request ("If you have a feature request related to the Evernote Service, that is not specific to a particular platform, please post it here!") forum is here: https://discussion.evernote.com/forum/304-general-feature-requests/; if you have requests that pertain to Evernote for specific operating systems, there are subforums; see https://discussion.evernote.com/forum/449-product-feedbackfeature-requests/
  8. ...and you're giving 1/6th of it away to Chromme. Sheesh, close a few tabs, willya? Did you forget to configure HIMEM.SYS? Very important, you know...
  9. This is sounding more like a feature request. Should I move it over to the appropriate forum?
  10. In the latest Windows version (6.17.5.8273), if you right click on a note in the note list, you should see an entry called "Copy Internal Link Ctrl+Alt+L". and you get the link type you note. You don't get that in the normal context menu when you right-click inside a note (it would be nice if you did), but it's evidently the same thing.
  11. Of course the flip side of this is that if you don't have cash flow, then you can't hold on to employees (or you downsize), and your shrinking smaller staff is more and more hard-pressed to do all of the things you were doing before with more people. And before you know it, you have no company, or it's gobbled up for any useful intellectual property. And with no company, features don't matter. I'm thinking SpringPad at the moment, though I've also experienced it up close and personal. So you can't discount putting your company on a good financial footing, and if Chris O'Neill did that then that's a good thing, even if he dropped the ball with the branding stuff, and perhaps didn't focus on stability and consistency issues. But if Ian Smalls can stick to focusing on the goals he laid out before adding significant new features, while maintaining stable financials, then I'd be fine with that.
  12. Ok, just take a deep breath, and walk calmly to the exit marked "Micro$oft PeeCee Lusers". Do not touch anything or speak to the Geniuses (tm). You may yet survive this. Good luck.
  13. Well, you need to have at least one notebook, since every note belongs to a notebook. Some folks prefer to minimize notebook use; as @DTLow says: use them administrative usages like sharing, offline, local notebooks, etc, but not for organizational usages. It's a preference as to how far you want to go with it (or not).
  14. Sure, I see it. Don't know of any way around this, and don't recall seeing it before the recent 6.17.3.8255 (308255) Prerelease (CE Build ce-62.0.7477) prerelease that I'm using on this machine (I think I need to update to the GA version). I don't use code blocks all that often even though I am a coder. In any case, I'd think that the phrase "elegant but cumbersome" would be something of an oxymoron...
  15. Usually to debug copy/paste and other clipboard issues, I use a 3rd party application to see what is actually on the clipboard. You can do a web search on "windows clipboard utility" or something like it; I use ClipSpy and ClipboardFormatSpy.
  16. I like and use plenty of Microsoft software, but the last time I tried OneNote's inbuilt Evernote import facility, it was an unmitigated disaster. Maybe it's changed; you should check it out.
  17. Well, I'm sure we're all hanging here with bated breath to learn the outcome of this grand experiment in thinking, but waiting is painful, so I'll spare you any more wondering to let you know that all of the ones I know are avid users of Evernote, and spend most of their time here in the forums helping other Evernote users to use Evernote better. Oh, and yes, they often have and express opinions about Evernote, make suggestions for improvements, and even occasionally engage in tomfoolery. Does that answer your question?
  18. What a weird little post. I guess it's a human trait to hate things we don't understand, but it's generally not something most humans are publicly proud of...
  19. Which Evernote version are you using? I see links working fine in 6.17.3.8255 (308255) Prerelease (CE Build ce-62.0.7477) Can you post an example of a link that's not working?
  20. This actually does not work for either 'notebook' or 'stack'., at least in the Windows Evernote client, and is not allowed by the Evernote search language (http://dev.evernote.com/doc/articles/search_grammar.php), so probably not for the Web client either. If it works in other Evernote clients, then that would be good to know. It does work for 'tag', which is not what's asked for here.
  21. Could be we're not updating our versions here at work (not under my control; I am a lowly developer, not mighty IT). I don't take much notice because it works fine for me, but if it ever stops working (and I'll know, because screen clipping i pretty useful for me), I'll sure know what to do!!
  22. I think that everyone who responded here understands what this is 'about'. It's pretty clear what was asked for; we Evernote users can't fix things, but alternatives/workarounds exist (viable or not for a particular person's usage) and those were what was offered. Of course, the original poster hasn't responded in over 3 months, so it's hard to tell if those helped or not.
  23. Working fine for me. Win 10 Pro 1607 / 14393.2007 Evernote 6.17.3.8255 (308255) Prerelease (CE Build ce-62.0.7477) Word Office 365 ProPlus subscription
