I have a ticket number 3776826 about this issue as well. This morning the web client using Chrome still exhibited the problem. So I tried the web client in Microsoft Edge. When the application first loaded it was missing notes. However after about 1 minute the missing notes just popped in. Maybe something to do with Chrome? No matter where the problem lies it needs to get fixed ASAP.

I just got this Syncing temporarily paused. You can continue editing while Evernote reconnects error for the first time. I cannot "continue editing: because the note text is not displayed at all. This is occurring in both Windows app and Web app versions. Reading the threads on this issue it does not look like Evernote is going to fix it. I don't know what to do from here. I have 8 years of work and over 7000 notes on Evernote.

Why would anyone in their right mind carry out scheduled maintenance in the middle of a weekday?!
