  1. I'm on 7.10 MacOS Mojave 10.14.5, and it still isn't fixed. IMPOSSIBLE to see the cursor Did some more testing - this is just with web pasted content. If I get out of those paste blocks, the cursor is white and very visible again.
  2. Moderators - please tag this thread with "feature request" - thanks +1 as well!!! Many, many years of frustration that this hasn't been addressed yet. My thoughts from another related post... I've been an Evernote user for over 9 years. I have over 6,400 notes, and use it heavily, on almost EVERY platform (windows, mac, android, iOS). I use this tool constantly, and love it, but a basic tool like outlines for effective notes should be standard. Poor outline support has ALWAYS been frustrating, and I don't buy the answer many of the Gurus here have about going to an external tool. (Feels like a bit of Guru snobbery). As it still is today, after complaining many times for years, outlines are still a mess. They restart numbering arbitrarily, and often won't cleanly copy/paste from other tools (including, or at-least, Word). After this many years, Evernote shouldn't have these bugs, and it really should include standards like I.1.A.a.i type indentation, ability to fix or restart numbering on a line, line movement, etc. Expand/Collapse capabilities would be icing on the cake - absolutely awesome! But fundamental capabilities also must be addressed.

  4. I'd vote + on this as well. I've been a very long-term Evernote Premium user, and have recommended it to many friends - a great app. However, this one missing feature-set has made me crazy! Even trying to copy/paste outlines to/from Word is fraught with frustration. Big bugs in what's already in the app. It needs to be fixed, and fixed right! This is such an important feature - and if Evernote management ever had the balls to do a survey of their customer base, I'd bet it'd have to be one of the highest-voted requested features. (Not that they seem to care for feedback whenever I've offered, even very tactfully initially - hence my skepticism and hostility). Thanks for the suggestions on Workflowy, etc - I'll take a look again. That being said, it's not unreasonable to want a SINGLE app to hit 80% of your note taking, data collection needs. Switching between apps, even with great integration, is still disruptive and less than idea.
  5. I Agree - Please add my vote. Having more and more meetings with many people, on different sized projectors, and need to be able to easily size to good viewability. Thanks!
  6. This is an area of Evernote that's driven me crazy for years. I don't buy the "get another duck" answer. I also do almost all of my note taking in EverNOTE - and LOVE the tagging, multiple notebook abilities, sharing, saved searched, platform independence (cloud), etc. We use it heavily where I work, and I've recommended it to literally hundreds of people. HOWEVER - basic, dependable outlining needs much improvement. I don't want to have to launch Word or something else, and then copy/paste back and forth every time I want to make a simple update or change to an outline. I use outlines heavily for agendas, meeting summaries, etc - and I shouldn't have to go elsewhere to do it. I try to insert a number in a list, and get new lists starting over. Indent/out-dent drops list numbers sometimes. I've spent 30 minutes sometimes trying to fix a very simple, stupid formatting problem. This shouldn't be so hard - PLEASE fix it! Lots of reasons to love Evernote - NOTHING else is as powerful. But this problem is a gut-wrencher when you just need them to work, and want/expect to keep it simple without integration between other toolsets.

  8. This conversation makes me a bit crazy. I've asked years ago for EverNote developers to allow NOTE-level encryption, not just selected text. Additionally, requests by mikelisa to have a pin protection on all the apps make a HUGE amount of sense. If we want to have some idle timeout pin unlock prompt, and I believe MANY EverNote users do, why does there have to be a huge argument about the need. Different strokes for different folks - if you don't want it, don't use it. But there are many cases where it DOES make sense. 1) Mobile Phone Pin Lock: Roboform, financial apps, etc allow this. (mint, pageonce, etc). I may want my kids or a friend to be able to play awhile on my iPhone, and know that the evernote repository, with pics of my licenses, encrypted passwords (perhaps some NOT encrypted because I forgot to, and can't encrypt entire notes), etc. are protected. 2) Desktop Apps: IT technicians can be working on a computer fixing other things, and again, it's uncomfortable to have sensitive info in Evernote and have to "forget password" in the settings every time this happens. I GOT INTO THIS ISSUE AGAIN BECAUSE THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M FACED WITH! I'm an IT VP, and my technicians are helping one of my VPs, who I recommended Evernote to. He has this exact concern, and I agree with it, but I can't give him an easy, VERY COMMON METHODOLOGY answer like a pin with an adjustable lock period. Lock pins are a nice compromise - Too much of a hassle to completely logout and have to log back in, but still want the app locked. It seems that when it comes to suggestions about security improvements, such as whole-note encryption or locks, or pinout locks, a lot of argument ensues, and the EverNote developers just dig their heels in. I TOTALLY love the app - have recommended it to AT LEAST 100+ people (in my work and personal life), and love the enhancements that have come out over the last 3+ years. But security just seems like something they don't know how to listen to their customers about. PLEASE - PROVE ME WRONG! I'd be thrilled. Thanks so much for all the effort and enhancements that have happened - but please address these 2 issues. (Full note lock or encryption, and app timout with pin unlock). Thanks!
  9. I'm having the exact same problem. Multiple reboots, wifi (encrypted and non-encrypted), 3g, edge, no go. Can see my full list, and thumbnails, but no note details, including precached favorites. I'm using the 3.0 beta 2 firmward, no SDK. I have 80+ apps on the phone, so far evernote is the only app that's not working with 3.0b2, but I'll keep testing and post if I find others. Thanks
  10. I'm the IT VP at a midsized company, and frequently am asked for advice on different needs. I was recently asked if I'm still using OneNote, and had to pause to ASK MYSELF WHY I'm still using it... I use EverNOTE A LOT - and recommend it ALOT - but haven't given up OneNote either. This is rather distressing to me - I HATE having my note repositories scattered in different places; slows me down when I try to remember where I saved something. I know I can use the wizard to migrate notes from OneNote - very nice, but the entry and usage itself still has features EverNote doesn't, which I'd love to see EverNote add... 1) Note organizational structure - folders, etc. Tagging in EverNOTE very nice, but I'd like to combine it with more structure still - perhaps let saved tag searches be saved as "folder" tabs, with embedded folder abilities? 2) Note section highlighting ("Tagging") - graphical icons for Star, Question, ToDo (EverNote has that - but can I remap it to the same hotkey as OneNote to make easier to remember?) Almost 30 tags, each with their own graphical icon, and easy keyboard shortcuts for the most used ones. Makes rapid, visual tagging while typing much easier 3) Tagged Notes Summaries - take those tags you made, and instantly create a full note "summary" with the most important elements you need EverNote is always evolving, and has great features. If these could be added, I think I could give up OneNote entirely.
  11. Fair enough - my apologies. I'm one of those personalities that gets excited with each new capability, but always sees more that "could" be helpful... Keep up the great work! Thanks
  12. So when do you anticipate the iPhone client can handle text encrypt/decrypt? I use this heavily with a bunch of notes - business and personal (I'm a premier account also), and not being able to access or edit on the iPhone is a real gut-ache. Thanks
  13. I have to agree - encryption of selected text is nice for many applications, but I have very lengthy documents of imported password lists I'd like to be able to mass-encrypt - much too painful and tough to break down into chunks. Just leave us the note title or something unencrypted, so we can search by that, and by tags... > > > "Evernote Privacy and Security" April 15th, 2008 ... "Evernote recognizes that user choice is an important component of privacy and security. We believe that no single option is going to meet the needs of all users, so we aim to offer a set of tools that let people balance their needs for accessibility, privacy and control."
