About alanhagerman

  1. Just installed 5.03 on my OSX 10.7 installation. No issues so far and syncing is working
  2. Please add this; code is all over the internet to do comparisions. I shouldn't have to rely on my eyeballs for manualy comparing 2 conflicting notes. Or I end up having to export to flat files, run a compare utility, and then copy/paste back into my note. Thats a very cumbersome mechanism. Just let me pick 2 notes and have you compare them to show the differences. I don't even need the fancy "pick file1 or file2's content" (though that would make easier). I just need a convenient way of know I'm not losing anything.
  3. Is there any integrated note comparision going on? For example, when I have 2 notes in conflict, or when I've got the same note content in 2 or more notes (lets say something gets emailed to me and I make it a note and then an updated version is emailed to me) it would be nice to be able to select 2 notes and then select "compare" and have them be compared side-by-side so I can see the differences and move the different parts back and forth between the 2 to reconcile the differences. there are plenty of software packages that do that, but I'd prefer to have something integrated into EN instead of having to copy and paste or export notes to do this. Any suggestions?
  4. just a note to say that it appears as of mac release Version 1.1.6 (38944) that this is fixed. Thanks!!!!!!! I'll be doing more testing, but I've been able to encrypt/decrypt notes on both the mac and XP versions and decrypt on the iphone regardless of which platform encrypted it. Thanks again for fixing encryption!
  5. Just an update that encryption/decryption between platforms is still not working. PC version: 3.0.0.899 (38413) Mac Version: 1.1.5 (36338) iPhone Version: 1.4.0 (38007) 1. Notes encrypted on Mac can be decrypted on all platforms, but PC version loses formatting with paragraphs 2. Notes encrypted on PC can be decrypted on iphone, not mac So it's getting better, but its still not correct. I have to do all encrypting/decrypting entirely on the mac to ensure I can use my notes and they are readable on the other platforms. btw, it would be real convenient to be able to select all notes and do a "decrypt permanently" so that I can export the notes in a decrypted version for backing up locally. The more I use Evernote, the more I love it. Please just get all the security stuff fixed.
  6. Any idea on when you guys will get encryption fixed between platforms? btw, I love the new features and the iPhone location aware piece, but being unable to decrypt a note on the mac or iphone that was encrypted on the PC is a problem still
  7. LOLz. Best response I've seen from a developer in a long time!
  8. PC Version 3.0.0.788 (34980) (on windows XP SP3) Mac Version 1.1.4b Beta (34532) ( OSX 10.5.5) iPhone version 1.3.0 (35212) (firmware 2.1) Having issues encrypting and decrypting notes when moving between platforms (with the versions I have at least) 1. the iPhone can not decrypt a note at all, regardless if it was encrypted on a Mac or a PC. It accepts the passphase ok, but doesn't show the decrypted text 2. Notes encrypted ON THE PC can NOT be decrypted on either the MAC OR iPhone versions. They can be decrypted just fine on the PC. So they can be encrypted/decrypted on the PC ok, but not inter-platform. 3. Notes encrypted ON THE MAC can be encrypted/decrypted on the Mac no problem. Notes encrypted on the Mac can also be decrypted on the PC. Can not be decrypted on the iPhone.
  9. yeh, I've got a number of folks lined up to use this once we can get the encrypt/decrypt on the iPhone. Its going to roxor whenever they get it done.
  10. Hi Dave, any idea as to when this may occur? in the next 6 weeks? 2009? since there are applications such as Lockbox on the iphone maybe Apple has added the library support now? Just hoping. Evernote looks awesome with the clients and syncing, but I need that encryption piece on the iphone for it to be useful.
