  1. Gave your suggestion a try with the same results. The note synced. Thanks to everyone who suggested diagnostic tests. I'm hoping an uninstall / reinstall will be effective. I wish Evernote support had taken my message to them more seriously rather than just suggesting I post here. I don't know how I could have been more clear about the issue I was experiencing:
  2. Yes, the the Brokerage Statements notebook name is shown at the bottom left of the note panel. The notebook name is also listed correctly in the information panel along with the note name, dates, etc. The duplicate appeared just above the original within the correct notebook when it was created.
  3. No insult taken.. My Brokerage Statements notebook is definitely local. It appears only in Evernote on my MacBook Pro. I'm wondering if an uninstall / reinstall is in order. Won't have time to deal with this until after the 1st, but I just may give it a try.
  4. It is weird... To double check I duplicated an old brokerage statement on my MacBook Pro then deleted the copy. It appears in Trash on my laptop and synced over to my iPad.
  5. I wouldn't have posted my concern if that were the case... Notes in Trash on my iPhone X, iPad Pro, and MacBook Pro running the latest operating systems and Evernote version do sync. Evernote Support confirms this behavior is normal and cannot currently be changed. Support suggested I post the issue on this forum. Lew
  6. As a long time Evernote user I was surprised to discover recently that notes in the Trash sync up to the cloud and with all my devices. This might be considered harmless by some, buy I have created notebooks that do not sync for security reasons and to have those notes sync upon deletion is not good. At the very least, there should be a option for users to set syncing of the Trash notebook to on or off. Anyone agree? Lew
  7. The Evernote Web Clipper doesn't do a very good job guessing which notebook should receive a web clipping. There should be a way to select a default notebook for web clippings for a number of reasons: Evernote Web Clipper usually guesses the notebook I want the clipping to go to incorrectly. Not all notebooks are listed as choices when making a manual selection. Local notebooks, for instance, are not listed. Quite often multiple notes need to be merged after they're sent to Evernote. This can be more easily accomplished in the default notebook and then moved. The workflow would be much more efficient if I didn't need to select a notebook for each clipping. Please make the selection of a default notebook an option...thanks. Lew
  8. I’ve come up with an Applescript that will save a document to Evernote and also create a Calendar event as a reminder to follow-up in seven days. The Calendar entry also contains a link to the note. If you use Evernote on an iOS device, the link will open Evernote and the note. The script was created for use with Hazel, but could be modified to function as a folder action. In order to use the Applescript as is, you need to create the following: A folder named “Save PDF to Inquiries” in ~/Library/PDF Services/ A Calendar called “To Do” in the Calendar application. The event created by the Applescript will be an all day event. I have the default alarm for all day events set at 9:00am in Calendar preferences. Create a notebook in Evernote called "Inquiries" In the print dialog, select "Save PDF to Inquiries" from the PDF drop down menu to start the process. I’m not a coder, so what this Applescript achieves could likely have been done in a much more efficient manner. Please feel free to make suggestions. Enjoy… Lew Hazel Rule Evernote Inquiry.scpt on hazelProcessFile(theFile) tell application "System Events" display dialog "Enter Note Title" default answer "" set noteTitle to text returned of result tell application id "com.evernote.Evernote" synchronize delay 5 create note from file theFile notebook {"Inquiries"} title {noteTitle} tags {"Inquiry"} set worklogs to find notes "tag:Inquiry" set newestLog to item 1 of worklogs repeat with worklog in worklogs if creation date of worklog is greater than creation date of newestLog then set newestLog to worklog end if end repeat synchronize delay 2 set noteURL to note link of newestLog delay 2 end tell tell application "Calendar" tell calendar "To Do" set theDate to ((current date) + 7 * days) set newEvent to make new event at end with properties {description:"Evernote Inquiry", summary:"EN: " & noteTitle, start date:theDate, end date:theDate, url:noteURL, allday event:true, status:confirmed} end tell end tell end tell end hazelProcessFile
  9. I would use the following script for multiple tags: tell application "Evernote" activate create note from file theFile notebook {"Notebook_Name"} tags {"Tag_Name1”, "Tag_Name2”, "Tag_Name3”, "Tag_Name4”} end tell Lew
  10. I've been using this script for quite some time with no issues: tell application "Evernote" activate create note from file theFile notebook {"Notebook_Name"} tags {"Tag_Name"} end tell Lew
  11. Unfortunately, your suggestion doesn't work for me. Perhaps if I used only the Web Clipper to get clips into Evernote it would work, but I also use other methods. I mostly Print to PDF along with Hazel which moves PDFs to Evernote while automatically assigning it to the correct notebook and applying tags. After running a Print to PDF, Web Clipper gets confused and seems to select a notebook at random when Last used notebook is selected in Options. In light of the above, being able to select a default notebook would work best in my situation. By the way, Web Clipper 6.0.4 is not available at http://evernote.com/webclipper/. It still downloads Evernote.6.0.3.safariextz. Can you please provide a link to the latest version? Thanks... Lew
  12. I'd like to add a couple of issues... Here's a screen shot of the lower right corner of my Safari window. Note that only part of the popup is visible. Making the window larger has no effect. Also, I'd like to be able to specify a notebook for all clips and not have the Clipper decide where they should be placed. While testing the Clipper, it placed clips in four different notebooks. Lew
  13. I like the ease with which I can get a Direct Image URL in Skitch for Mac. I don’t see an easy way to obtain one in Skitch for iOS. Am I missing something? If not, is there a workaround so I can get a Direct Image URL when working on my iPad Mini? In working with Skitch for iOS, I noticed the following bug. See below for the Public Links for the same test graphic obtained from my two iOS devices. The iPhone 5 link works as it should, the iPad Mini link does not. iPhone 5 Link: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/2a8e9c39-c933-476a-8b7c-4b50df8a8227/f664d4525807f3b611535fc0cef6a57b iPad Mini Link: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/2a8e9c39-c933-476a-8b7c-4b50df8a8227/(null) Please add a way to obtain a Direct Image URL to your iOS clients... Lew
  14. There are a number of ways to get your annotated screenshot into another app... You can drag the graphic to your desktop by clicking on the Drag Me tab at the bottom of the Skitch window and dragging. From your desktop you can treat it as any other graphic file. You can drag the graphic to an app icon on the dock. Click on Edit → Copy in the Skitch menubar and then paste the graphic in any application There may be other methods, but the three I've outlined are the ones I use. Lew
