  1. With help from @DTLow I was able to complete an AppleScript that creates a note in Evernote from a webpage in Safari or Chrome in a selected notebook. It also adds the original browser URL along with the date, in the format I prefer, and page name as the note's title. The AppleScript file is attached along with a screenshot below. Hopefully this will be of value to others... Save to Evernote.scpt
  2. Thank you very much!! We both learned something. I'll take you up on your suggestion to add the page name...good idea
  3. Hello... I need some assistance with an AppleScript I'm writing to create a note from a web page. I would like the script to add the URL of the web page to the note. I'm having trouble writing the line to do that. The script will reside in ~/Library/PDF Services/ to make it available as an option in the PDF dropdown menu in the print dialog. AppleScript file is attached...screenshot below. Any and all assistance will be appreciated. Lew ===== Save to Evernote.scpt
  4. The Evernote Web Clipper doesn't do a very good job guessing which notebook should receive a web clipping. There should be a way to select a default notebook for web clippings for a number of reasons: Evernote Web Clipper usually guesses the notebook I want the clipping to go to incorrectly. Not all notebooks are listed as choices when making a manual selection. Local notebooks, for instance, are not listed. Quite often multiple notes need to be merged after they're sent to Evernote. This can be more easily accomplished in the default notebook and then moved. The workflow would be much more efficient if I didn't need to select a notebook for each clipping. Please make the selection of a default notebook an option...thanks. Lew
  5. I would use the following script for multiple tags: tell application "Evernote" activate create note from file theFile notebook {"Notebook_Name"} tags {"Tag_Name1”, "Tag_Name2”, "Tag_Name3”, "Tag_Name4”} end tell Lew
  6. I've been using this script for quite some time with no issues: tell application "Evernote" activate create note from file theFile notebook {"Notebook_Name"} tags {"Tag_Name"} end tell Lew
  7. Unfortunately, your suggestion doesn't work for me. Perhaps if I used only the Web Clipper to get clips into Evernote it would work, but I also use other methods. I mostly Print to PDF along with Hazel which moves PDFs to Evernote while automatically assigning it to the correct notebook and applying tags. After running a Print to PDF, Web Clipper gets confused and seems to select a notebook at random when Last used notebook is selected in Options. In light of the above, being able to select a default notebook would work best in my situation. By the way, Web Clipper 6.0.4 is not available at http://evernote.com/webclipper/. It still downloads Evernote.6.0.3.safariextz. Can you please provide a link to the latest version? Thanks... Lew
  8. I'd like to add a couple of issues... Here's a screen shot of the lower right corner of my Safari window. Note that only part of the popup is visible. Making the window larger has no effect. Also, I'd like to be able to specify a notebook for all clips and not have the Clipper decide where they should be placed. While testing the Clipper, it placed clips in four different notebooks. Lew
  9. I like the ease with which I can get a Direct Image URL in Skitch for Mac. I don’t see an easy way to obtain one in Skitch for iOS. Am I missing something? If not, is there a workaround so I can get a Direct Image URL when working on my iPad Mini? In working with Skitch for iOS, I noticed the following bug. See below for the Public Links for the same test graphic obtained from my two iOS devices. The iPhone 5 link works as it should, the iPad Mini link does not. iPhone 5 Link: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/2a8e9c39-c933-476a-8b7c-4b50df8a8227/f664d4525807f3b611535fc0cef6a57b iPad Mini Link: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/2a8e9c39-c933-476a-8b7c-4b50df8a8227/(null) Please add a way to obtain a Direct Image URL to your iOS clients... 10. There are a number of ways to get your annotated screenshot into another app... You can drag the graphic to your desktop by clicking on the Drag Me tab at the bottom of the Skitch window and dragging. From your desktop you can treat it as any other graphic file. You can drag the graphic to an app icon on the dock. Click on Edit → Copy in the Skitch menubar and then paste the graphic in any application There may be other methods, but the three I've outlined are the ones I use. Lew
  11. Hi Keith... Good to hear from you. Thank you for pointing that out to me. It seems so obvious now. Regards... Lew
  12. I sent the following message to support concerning two Skitch v1 features missing in v2: Hello, In Skitch v1 a file name could be entered in the tab at the bottom of the window before saving or dragging it to the desktop. I’m using Skitch v2.0.4 and I see no easy way to name a file other than to do so in the file export process...and, although that filename is applied to the exported file, it is not applied to the original graphic in the Skitch window. Without a quick and easy way to name a file, it has to be done after dragging to the desktop or syncing with Evernote. Having to switch to the desktop or Evernote in order to name the file interrupts the workflow, otherwise I end up with a lot of files named Screenshot. Also, there needs to be a way to customize keyboard shortcuts for Crosshair Snapshot, etc. as there was in v1. Some of the ones your programmers have come up with are just cruel. I would appreciate it if you would kindly pass my comments on to your programmers. Here's the reply I received: Thank you for contacting us, we apologize for the inconvenience. Could you please perform the following steps after you have seen the error occur again? Run the Mac "Console" application On the left side, select "Crash Reporter" under: FILES > ~/Library/Logs Select the latest "Skitch*.log" and reply to this message with it as an attachment. Did the support representative even bother to read my message? I think not!! Anyway... Does anyone here have any suggestions? Would any Evernote employee who may read this please pass it along to your programmers? Thanks... Lew
  13. You need to install the Skitch 2.0.4 beta. I had some of the issues you describe before installing 2.0.4 beta which you can find here. If you can't quit Skitch, try deleting it from Login Items in your System Preference, then reboot. Drag the Skitch.app to the trash, empty the trash and reboot again. Then download and install Skitch 2.0.4 beta. Lew
  14. It appears your graphic is more suited to be printed in landscape mode. Click on File → Page Setup and select landscape mode. You may also need to scale the size down a bit to fit the graphic on one page. One would think that changing the size of the graphic within the Skitch window would be enough, but for some reason it doesn't change the output size. Until that is addressed, the method described above works well for me. Lew
